Aug 25, 2010As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.

Jun 19, 2011When I receive a call on my BlackBerry Torch 9800, the Bluetooth connection with my car (Mercedes E class) sometimes crashes and I end up fiddling with the phone to try to retrieve the call. It only does this sometimes and the connection was perfectly OK with other phones. Making calls and downloading the address book all work fine.

Sep 1, 2010I was configuring bluetooth connection between my laptop and Torch 9800 and windows automatically configured my Torch as bluetooth modem and now I can use my Torch as a modem over bluetooth for internet access. This is a welcomed surprise as I was contemplating whether or not to spend 20 plus dollars to buy the tethered application but apparently there is this free option. This is probably not new to BB experts but I was so happy about this "new discovery" that I thought of sharing.

My school e-mail is weird because when I go inside everything looks exactly like gmail but it isn't exactly gmail beacuse you can't sign on from www.gmail.com. Gotta go through the school website. Sometimes you can see them in the preview area but when you click on them you get a weird icon that looks like a wheel. Sometimes even in the preview area you cannot see the pic at all.Still on the official OS that came with the phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? I recently swapped out to a larger memory card but I had the problem on both cards.

Apr 26, 2010As you already know, the ring volume on the Torch 9800 is extremely low. So I tried to email custom mp3 ringtones to my phone to use instead. In attempting to do so, I received a message saying "More request cannot be completed. Service book information not found." I also received this message when trying to email a photo to my blackberry. This never use to happen in past blackberries I have owned.
How do I fix this "service book information not found" issue ?

Aug 25, 2010I have bought a Torch, but cannot get it to set up in the Organizer configuration to sync with my Calendar in MS Office XP- Outlook. My computer runs Windows XP. The contacts and memo will configure (although) they are posting to an archive folder and when I try to change that I get Error 0x80043bea), but the Calendar and Tasks will go through the set-up process, but when you finish it, the checkmark on those 2 Outlook folder disappears before you can even select the advance settings.I have re-set the configuration on the Desktop software a couple of times, to no avail, and uninstalled the Desktop 6.0 software and reinstalled it. None of these measures have changed the problem.Any suggestions?

The phone wil enter bedside mode and i get a message stating that the phone will not charge. I am able to charge the phone without the dock using the exact same cable. Aug 28, 2010So after using my Torch for a week or so, I'm starting to really miss my Bold 9700.Is it possible for me to simply put my ATT sim card from my Torch in my Bold 9700 and use the Bold seamlessly? My Bold is unlocked, but I'm worried about email settings/BBM working properly if I switch my sim card out of the Torch.
When I booted up my Bold with my Torch sim card 5 minutes ago I got a txt message saying erroneous number or something to that degree, and BBM attempted to setup a new profile.Do I need to use the device switch wizard?

We need a newer OS and the option of having our quarty keyboards that slides from a touch screen. Apr 26, 2010On my Blackberry Toch 9800, it seems to freeze up on several occassions, most recently when downloading an application from "App World."After downloading an application from App World, when you run the application for the first time, it will ask you if you want to "share personal information." Whether it is checked or unchecked, the screen just freezes up after clicking "OK."
Is there a fix for this? This is a brand new device and I am already experiencing several screen lock up issues. I have already done a hard / soft reset, as well as a battery pull. I have also uninstalled the application and re-installed it, only to have this issue continue.

Dec 29, 2010I was able to synch to my Torch last week. I was going to update my wife's Torch. However, the Blackberry desktop which was the latest one downloaded from the Blackberry website. I did have the latest OS version on my phone and my phone is now not being detected either. I tried everything from a clean install of the desktop software to taking the battery out to restarting the laptop to trying to update the drivers via the control panel. The laptop is using Vista with SP2.
