I have a torch 9810 that i've been trying to view my Q-See cameras and since this version has version 7 ,supposedly according to Q-See teckniciansthere are no phone apps that will work with this phone.My old blackberry Torch 9800 had an app called DMSS which worked flawlessly, but will not work with this phone.
View 1 RepliesI bought brand new 5230 a week ago. When suggested by the sms sent by Nokia I upgraded the firmware with PC Suite, downloaded the latest available Ovi Maps via phones Ovi application and downloaded Europe maps with PCSuite (Map Loader 3.something).
Versions are:
Ovi Maps is v 3.04 10wk17 b07 MW OpenGL LN MN
Maps are version 0.1.24.114
Location is Finland, software is finnish.
"Varoitus turvatarkkailusta"/'Warning for security surveillance' is selected on options. When tried, no warning of what so ever is presented, no sound or visual alert, nor nothing special could be seen on display when driven past cameras that has been there for years. The situation is the same when I tested using offline or onlive navigation.
I have a iphone 4s and wanted to know if apple uses gorilla glass on both cameras? Does the front and back both use it? Do neither use it? If not what materials do they use on their cameras?

I have a x6 with 3.03 maps loaded and touch wood it navigates fine without connecting to the internet.Now when i view OVI Maps on my PC i can see speed camera locations on screen. Why are they not on my phone or how do i get them on my phone? Anyone know

I've already been ticketed three times and I'm a very conservative driver. Those cameras get you even if you're not intentionally speeding, but are simply not paying close enough attention and happen to be exceeding the posted limit by more 10 mph. There is one called "RadarActive Speed Trap" on the App Store, but I can't tell from the description whether it gives you an audible warning that you're approaching a camera or not.

Is there anyone out there that has a Nokia 5230 and is able to be alerted to Safety cameras in offline mode ? I purchased this phone in Feb and have upgraded to 3.03, have deleted Cities folder and QF folder and reloaded both 3.03 software and maps so many times I've lost count - but still get no Safety Spot notification ( Safety Spots is 'on' in navigation settings ). Interestingly there is a folder called 'Safety Spots' under the Cities Folder - diskcashe file, but when you access it there is no data in the file .
I have no idea if the camera warnings appear in online mode as this never seems to work as I always get the message ' something went wrong and the connection failed - please try again' - I have no idea how to fix this, the Internet settings for O2 are correct.In any case I have no intention of using maps online. My assumption is that the Safety Camera info is recd from the downloaded maps and therefore should work in offline mode.
Is there a way to mute/turn off the sound for cameras?

As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
View 5 Replies View RelatedShortly after I purchased my Xperia Play (Verizon) I did the update and everything was fine (2.3.3). Now when I try to take pictures they only show up with a green tint kind of like having night vision. It's doing this for both the front and rear facing cameras. It shows up in the preview as well.Also, when I try to send out texts it only says "Sending" they never get sent, but I can receive texts any time. I've been contemplating doing a restore to it but I don't want to waste my time if it doesn't fix anything and I definitely don't want to go through installing everything again.

All of my Contacts were permanently lost and I had to set up my phone from scratch again - out of box. I'm guessing it's because he tried to guess my password again. The last time he tried to guess my password about 6 months ago, the phone did not Wipe itself out. Why it would wipe itself out is totally ridiculous. If a would-be thief actually somehow guessed my password, he deserves to have my Contacts, as I choose a password that cannot be guessed. It's up to the user how secure they want their phone by choosing a password of a certain level. It's not up to RIM to choose DEFCON 1 as soon as someone exceeds the number of retries set. It makes me want to get rid of my Blackberry altogether and get a phone that has a more reasonable security measures sequence of events. At the very least, there should be some kind of warning on the screen upon enabling the 'Password Lock' feature that states, 'the phone will be wiped if the number of retries is exceeded, it is highly recommended to Backup your Data using the Blackberry Manager PC software, in order to allow your phone to be quickly configured back to the state of when you backed it up, in the event a security wipe is activated'. I learned later that this was in the manual, but who actually reads the manual? I don't even know where my manual is. If I had known this, I would have most definitely backed it up. I think that since I'm basically starting from scratch, I may as well get another phone, but not one that has this ridiculous feature like Blackberry's.

When i try to set my e mails up it asks me for the enterprise activation password. I have tried countless times with vodafone to rectify this. They sent me a link to activate my e mail accounts, but they are still associated with my old blackberry pin number. Vodafone have now told me to contact the manufacturers to change the security access to my new pin number, as my details have not updated like they should have done.I can not find any numbers to contact these though. I am getting increasingly frustrated with this as i am paying for a service i can not use, and they cant rectify.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was able to Sync my contacts on my new Torch 9800 from MS Outlook but then experienced several "pocket calls" even with the Phone Lock feature ON. So I activated the 4 digit security code feature that requires entry before making any outgoing calls to resolve the "pocket call" issue, but now when I try to synch my contacts it asks for my 4 digit security code. I have 10 attempts to get it right but it doesn't recognize the security code on my PC. I am linking via the USB cable directly to my phone. Anyone know how to resolve this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from iPhone and one thing that is bothering me about my android phone is the lock screen real estate. I have this big screen and 90% of the screen is taken by the clock and unlock feature. Notifications get a small band and stack on each other.
Problem being while I'm away if I get 3 text messages, a phone call, and some other alert all I see is a stack of notifications but I can't read them.
On the iphone if you turn the screen on you actually read what happened and decide right away if you care enough to unlock your phone and respond. With this new phone I always have to unlock to see what the notifications actually are about and if I care or not.
I have saved my contacts information from my z3 to sony PC companion, but i can not see how to view my contacts in PC companion, if for example i loose my phone then how can i view my contacts on my PC ?
My music is playing up on my phone, so if i go to deelte a playlist there is no option to delete it, only the share etc option, also if i go to add a song to a playlist , the list of playlists does not show , only an option to start a new playlist shows up, so basically i have to make a new playlist per each song, obviously this can`t be right.
