Does anyone know if and how the touchpad can be locked during phone conversations.Every time I'm talking with someone, it seems my face or ear touches the touchpad causing both the person on the other end and myself to hear beeps.
View 3 RepliesI have a Curve 9330, running OS 6, and I have found a very annoying feature/bug, OR... When I am on an active call, the two possible methods to lock the keys (Mute button, "a" key) do NOT lock the keys.This is most annoying because... I have a bluetooth earpiece, and I am a big fan of using my cell phone "hands free". I can walk around, with my cell phone in my pocket, talking on the phone, moving from room to room, and doing things that might require 2 hands, etc.BUT, because of the feature/bug described above, I can NOT lock the keys once I'm on a call, so I cannot put the Curve in my pocket (or I'll start hitting keys inadvertently). Then, if I want to move, i have to take the Curve with me, so my bluetooth will stay in range. So now must walk around with the Curve in my hand - now I'm only "one-hand free." I cannot put dishes in the sink, or put on a pair of pants, or bring in groceries from the car, etc., etc., etc. - at least not easily.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUntil last Tuesday, I was away on holidays. Prior to this my Blackberry was working perfectly. However since coming back, I noticed that my laptop & handset do not talk. I was told by the Blackberry software that my handset needed a new upgrade. I tried to upgrade, but this failed & in the meantime, my contacts which were supposedly backed up were obliterated. It claimed the fact that I had a password (which I used to stop my phone making phone calls without my knowing in my pocket) was preventing the upgrade from happening.
I am now literally without phone & lost.
Currently, while I am talking on the phone my ear lobe or face either mutes the call, turns on the speaker phone, etc.
How do I turn off the touch screen before I start talking on the phone?
There is a wierd "digital" sound while talking.I can hear the person Im talikng to fine and they can hear me perfect.other posters on diffrent fourms are reporting the same problem.

My phone has not got wet or been dropped. I checked for an update when I was notified that there was one available but when i got to the site it told me that no upgrade was available, made no sense.

But all of a sudden (I still wonder why?) its not working any more, and is very frustating to press 123 or aA kes each time you need capital letters or numbers.

I had a problem with my phone rebooting every couple of minutes. I followed the reinstall procedure and now the terms and conditions screen is showing but I can't move in ant direction using the touchpad. Pressing it does select things, unlock and OK when I enter password but that's all I can do.

The touchpad in the middle of the phone is not allowing me to move it to other icon's, so it is stuck on the Envelope (e-mail) folder and will only open the last e-mail. It will not allow me to view, send or receive anything else Have tried cleaning it as per the view someone kindly posted me, but no luck. I have tried rebooting and also removing battery, but again, no luck! don't really want to have to go out and buy a new BB as I only got this one in January!!

I've recently installed Real Football Manager 2010 by Gameloft, the game is made for n97i and is suppose to be played full screen. In 2.0 there was a Settings button for the lapdock that allowed the touchpad's sensitivity to be adjusted. In Webtop 3.0 the only settings adjustment I can find takes me to the phone's Settings which has no category allowing for touchpad sensitivity adjustment. A quick chat with a Motorola "support" person online here suggested there was no longer such an adjustment available, and that they didn't work for Motorola, but would "pass my comment along" to them.

Very first time plugged it in and touchpad was not working.Thought it was defective but unplugged phone and plugged in and started working. It was fine yesterday and now today it was working then stopped again. The only difference today is I am using a wireless mouse as well but both were working without any issues earlier. Restarted phone also and still nothing.

Under the instructions it tell you to:
Options > Advanced > Apps > scrool to the app > click menu > edit permissions > set all to allow > then reboot.
Well i have the torch and those instructions are not correct b/c there is no advanced tab under options and i can figure it out. Does patternlock work for the torch, if so, can some1 give me instructions.
Maybe I'm not doing it right, but I enable a password on my torch, use the lock button, and when I press the lock button again it unlocks it without asking for the password. Both my 9000 and my 9700 made me enter the password after I hit unlock.

Also where it would normally indicate the service provider it just says searching. Prior to this the memory on the phone was full.

My sons Nokia was recently repaired under an insurance claim for water damage. After approx 2 weeks of recieving the phone back from the insurers the phone starting bhaving eratically - not allowing him to play music, showing the phone was charging when it wasnt plugged in. Well before i had chance to do anything about this the phone is now completly unresponsive, it turns on and off but when it is on none of the keys work, the touchpad doesnt work when you slide the screen up and down it does nothing. Does anyone know if this is something likely to be linked to the repair or if it is likely to be a seperate problem with the handset (possibly covered under warrenty) and just a coincednce?

While the phone had a few quirks, overall I was pleased with my BB so I decided to get another one. I'm starting to think that was a mistake. This phone gets very hot during calls. I'm assuming it has something to do with the heat that also causes the battery to drain quite quickly. There is also an extremely annoying quirk of the audio cutting in and out during calls. i've had an iphone 3gs for a while now and was happy with it. i normally let my 7yr-old daughter play games and watch Internet clips on it, but i don't know what she did this morning that now my iphone talks with every command, i have to touch to select and then double-tap for the command to go through, i am having trouble now just trying to type in my password to get into the phone to even see if there is a way to try and take off of what seems to be a seeing-impaired setting.

I can't get the screen to lock when I press the button on the top of the phone. When pressed, the screen goes off but then half a second later it lights up again and is unlocked. I have acquired a pattern lock to save pressing buttons when the phone is in my pocket but the screen remains lit up and is consequently draining the battery. There isn't any damage to that corner of the phone so I doubt the button is the problem.
