Sep 14, 2011I plugged my 9800 torch in and the red light comes on but it will not charge. The phone is dead now and no matter what I plug it into it will not chage or power on.

Apr 13, 2012i have an 8520 Curve and have just noticed i can't save new contacts to my phone.
I've tried adding through my address book and my phone just hangs. I've tried adding a phone number via my call registerr and it just bounces back to the original screen and i've tried adding it through the menu in my text messages and still it won't load.

Jul 24, 2011I recently purchased a Blackberry Sync Pod and for some reason the phone will not charge while on the dock. The phone wil enter bedside mode and i get a message stating that the phone will not charge. I am able to charge the phone without the dock using the exact same cable. The retailer isnt willing to assist in this matter as they say it is something I need to take up with the manufacture.whats wrong or how to make the phone charge?

Jan 6, 2012I bought a brand new battery, and left it to charge overnight, when I woke up, the battery icon was still red with a plug logo on it (which insures me that it's charging) I thought the battery was messed up, so I returned it and took another one, but again, it's been in the charger for 2 hours straight now, and the battery icon is still red with the plug icon on it.

Sep 21, 2011Ever since I got my Torch, I've found I can't charge my phone as I'm talking to someone on it. What I have to do is hang up with whoever I'm talking to, pull the battery out, wait for it to reboot, plug it in, then call that person back. And if, when I plug it in after it reboots, it still won't charge, I have to do a battery pull all over again. And even when I do all that and manage to get it charging, it still stops charging after ten minutes of me on the phone so I end up having to cut the phone call short, which leaves the person on the other line less than impressed. I invested in a Blackberry because I assumed things like this wouldn't happen.
P.S. I've only had my Torch for six months, and I've done all the tricks (ie turning off the wi-fi) to make the battery last longer, yet over the past couple of weeks it needs to be charged everyday or it will die.

Dec 5, 2012I've been having trouble charging my 9810. When I plug my phone in the charging bolt doesn't show up on the battery, instead I get the usb symbol on the battery. I have to keep unplugging and then plugging my phone and after several tries the bolt shows up and it begins charging my phone.

Sep 28, 2011Last friday I went to sleep with my bb torch 9800 dieing. I woke up to charge it and there was no response besides a red light when plugged in then it went out and then no light eventually. I ordered a new battery and got it today. It charged for 10 seconds then tried turning itself on and died and kept repeating this process and now im back to the red light when I plug it in and thats all..The light keeps going out then no response.

It send me the message saying welcome to bb but when the battery died i havent been able to get it charge again. Sep 8, 2011I am running into an issue, periodically, where my Torch 9800 appears to be charging when placed within my dock, but loses battery life (appears to actually drain the battery) over the course of an evening if shut off. This never used to be the case, as the device would charge regardless of whether it remained on or was shut off. I also cannot rely on the flashing light (when put in charger) as the device does not do this on occasion, even when it does appear to be charging. I am wondering if this is a common occurance and whether there is anything I can do to ensure this problem is fixed, as I would like to rely on my Torch as an alarm clock, but need to know that the battery will not die over the course of an evening.

May 18, 2011About 3 days ago, my Torch decided it no longer wants to work with ANY wall charger, or car charger for that matter. I have been using it just fine for the past 6 months, and charging it just about every night, topping it off for a fresh charge for the morning.
Now, NO wall chargers work, simply no response. The ONLY way I can charge is via the USB cable and my laptop. This is VERY annoying and no one at the AT&T store seems to know what's going on.
I've tried all kinds of battery pulls and reboots - even upgraded to the latest software, downgraded back - NOTHING seems to be working!
What is the solution to this problem? How can I get it to charge again in my wall and car chargers?

Jan 8, 2012I bought a Torch 9810 last week and the problem is it is overheating. I charged it for the first time and only started using it once the battery was fully charged. At first everything was normal until I started using it, it started getting warm at the back, the bottom part below the battery. The longer I continued using the hotter it got. Once it is hot hot it stops reading the Sd card, it gives the Fatal error message. The following day I took it back and was swopped with another new phone, same model, and I am still experiencing the same problem. I used the Curve for two years and never experienced any issues.

Jan 3, 2012I have a problem with my sister's Blackberry Torch 9800. Yesterday her phone went flat as it ran out of battery, once she got home she put it on charge via blackberry wall charger this was about 2-3hrs after the phone went flat. She came back to it about an hour later to find the screen was showing a battery with a cross through it and couldn't turn it on. Since then I have tried every attempt to get the phone working by changing wall chargers to another blackberry one, blackberry USB cable on laptop and computer in the highest USB ports, even car charger. I also have tried battery pull out with charger.
After trying all this I thought it may have been software problem but the phone is recognized in the latest Desktop Manager but it fails to connect ( Because phone can't turn on), tried AppLoader again no luck and also in JM_Cmder.I would also like to add the phone has now been on charge for 1 day now and there is still no change. This phone is nearly a year old.
