The reboot bar reaches as far as about where the letter 'e' is in the word 'Blackberry' in the middle of the reboot screen. Then the red LED flashed and the Torch reboots again.
To stop the rebooting I had to pull out the battery, but once I put this in the reboots continue.
I have a blackberry torch 9800. I upgraded my AppWorld and rebooted my device, since then its rebooting continuously, I tried after replacing the battery (my friend has a similar phone). Removed the battery for 5hours and tries switching it on. Removed the memory card andtriied everything. Basically the black screen with blackberry logo is turning on, loading till the end and reboots after it loads completely. I don't want to take it to the store any exchange it for a new one, I need THIS phone cuz I have all my data and I have around 120 BBM contacts (I DONT want to lose them).
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Torch is about 9 months old. I had no problems with it until about a month ago. It constantly reboots. It is not software. Sometimes when you close the slider, it goes dead and reboots. I have now seen that if the slider is open and you softly wiggle the screen part it reboots.. not always.. This tells me that it is a hardware problem. A factory fault if you ask me. My wife's Torch is 2 months old. Same problem. Also reboots for nothing. Work colleague, also a torch. Just over a year old. Same problem. Reboots 4 or 5 times a day. This is definitely not software. If you put it down too hard, or keep it in your pocket. A lot of the time it reboots...

The phone now reboots in low coverage areas when switching from 3g to Edge. It will not happen when I have it set to 3G only mode. My phone is still under Warranty.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently acquired a Torch 9810, originally from Rogers but MEP2 unlocked and running on Fido with a 6GB data plan. It's my first BB, a choice that I made specifically because I was so impressed by my Playbook. There is, however, one thoroughly frustrating problem, which is that it suffers from random reboots. Symptomatically, there is a brief pause, followed by the backlight turning off (I can still see the previous content on the screen sometimes), followed by the red LED and then the BB logo with the loading bar. It looks similar to a soft reset or battery pull. These reboots seem to be completely random:
1) They take place over a wide range of activities, including web browsing, email reading and composing, Facebook, Twitter, built-in apps, even when looking through settings menus.2) The frequency seems to be random too, sometimes I can go for half a day without a reboot, but sometimes the phone will reboot twice in the span of a few minutes.
I tried reloading the stock Rogers 7.0.0.254 OS but this did not solve the problem.Thereafter, I have gone through 3 different 7.1 OS versions, each time using BBSAK to wipe my device to a 507 state. I have tried Telus 7.1.0.267, Mobilicity 7.1.0.378 and even the latest official OS for my phone, Rogers 7.1.0.391. I'm not sure that my apps are contributing to the problem since I have the problem after a wipe, but I have the following installed:BB ProtectBB BridgeBB MapsBB 5 soundsFacebookTwitterWindows LiveMessengerYahoo MessengerGoogle TalkWikitudeWord MoleBrickbreakerGoogle Maps There seems to be plenty of free storage space, over 180MB right now.
My torch 9850 reboots seemingly randomly. However, It actually seems to reboot during times of inactivity such as just lying on the table.

The LED indicator will be lit up for a short period of time, for a total of two times. After that, the system reboots itself. Now it reboots on trying to launch almost all apps including camera, maps, google maps, Qype and many other apps downloaded through BB app world. I have tried uninstalling these apps and re-installing them but the same thing happens. I really like the phone and am so disappointed that I can't use it for these applications.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have used my Icon fine with the Preview for Developers version of WP 8.1, until the latest update.Since then, I've had trouble booting the phone when doing a soft reset (it took 3 cycles of going to the red Verizon screen, sitting there for a minute, rebooting on its own before it loaded WP). Also, I had an issue with the lock screen becoming unlockable, and looking like a screenshot of the start screen... kind of hard to describe, but the Start screen slid up like the lock screen, but without the keyboard to unlock. That's happened twice in the last few days and I had to do soft resets (which led to the issue mentioned above).
Today, the phone spontaneously just rebooted itself, while sitting unused on a table. Very odd, haven't seen that before.I should mention that when I first installed the update, I got a Blue Screen error when it booted up, and I had to reboot manually.
Since I got my baby back ladt week, I've had some reocurring problems. While in the browser, I find it closes without warning or message, often. Sometimes it even reboots.
Also, i've had several reboots when touching anything in Settings. I've factory reset a couple of times, and will again shortly.
Its been 3 months I bought a new torch2.. And right from the first day i have been having problems with it... almost every alternate day you can't hear anything while making calls not even the caller tone. i made sure it wasnt the mute option or something like that... the sound doesnt come back till i remove the battery and reboot it.. also i am fed up of frequent random reboots and it suddenly stops working.. PS: the ONLY service station here in bhopal has been very uncooperative and have been over charging customers

I got my phone in April - a few tiny problems, such as frozen screens etc, but I turned a blind eye to it, hoping they're one offs! And then today - well, the phone basically is turnin itself on and off all day, going in a cycle - and what is so weird is like there is a ghost in the system, because it is bringing up the profiles screen and selecting profiles too Unfortunately, cannot even keep phone on long enough to carry out a master reset - have done he battery, SIM out for an hour etc Short of throwing this out the window, does anyone know what the solution is, or has anyone ever experienced these issues themselves?
