I am using a Torch 9860 with OS 7.1.0.1646. The battery backup doesnt ever las one day with calling as low as 30 minutes and minimum use of applications. Moreover the phone reboots at least once during the day on recieving a call.
View 3 RepliesI have a Torch 9860 on Vodafone Ireland. I have installed and reinstalled the latest OS for the phone 7.1.0.342 from Vodafone. The phone now reboots in low coverage areas when switching from 3g to Edge. It will not happen when I have it set to 3G only mode. My phone is still under Warranty.

Now it reboots on trying to launch almost all apps including camera, maps, google maps, Qype and many other apps downloaded through BB app world. I have tried uninstalling these apps and re-installing them but the same thing happens. I really like the phone and am so disappointed that I can't use it for these applications.

After finishing a voicecall, in many situations the phone does not disconnect even if I press the end call button repeatedly. It just seems to "hang" for 30-40 seconds and then disconnect. Sometimes it dosconnects only if the person at the other end hangs up.

My Z3 also suffered from the same problem, I was about to send it off for repair but smashed the screen so decided to upgrade early, now the Z5 is doing the same thing. I don't have a micro sd card in it and I have just replaced the sim with a new one but it still happens. But only intermittently when either making or receiving calls. I'm in the UK on the O2 network.

Continuing to use it I noticed the following symptoms:Wont play videos of any kind (youtube, Facebook etc)Speakers do not work at all phone hangs and will not connect during incoming or outgoing calls. The call may connect after several minutes of the screen hanging on the blue calling screen however speakers don't work anyway.Phone restarts itself randomly.I have tried a hard reset from recovery, wiped cache, booted to safe mode etc with no change. My problem is my phone shows full signal strength and I can't receive not make calls nor messages. I tried to call the service provider for any network problems and they said no problems at all. Now when I'm at home and I want to surf the internet, it's using the carrier data package, but I want it to use the WiFi. I searched all over and I can't find any solution. any help? Notes: On the home screen, I can see my carrier name (Etisalat) and my WiFi network name. When I go to "Manage Connections", it shows that I'm connected to the WiFi network; but I've never seen the WiFi signal icon in blue or green or any color than grey (which means the BB is not using the WiFi at all) I want to set the default internet access as WiFi. but How ?! When I checked my phone's memory from Options page, I was surprised to get the following information. I then validated the information with an app called "BeInfo Lite". This is very different from the 9860 specification where I should have 768MB RAM and 4GB storage memory. But fails on the next stage.I also read that connecting the 9860 and pressing ctrl + alt + del would active the phone, all it did (even that was surprising) was let me see a Battery sign on the screen. However interesting that was it soon disappeared.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI bought a BB Torch 9860 in USA, and I live in Argentina, and as I couldn't get 3G on it I was searching and I foun out that I got a wrong 3G bands units. mine is model RDQ71UW with bands 1-4-8, and local mobile provider here, Claro, explained to me that I need the bands 1-2-5-6, that I understand is on model RDP71UW.I also understand that it is not something that could gets re-configured.So I should buy a correct unit and try to sell this one, is that right?Is not possible to get this model in Argentina because we have many limitations to importations. at the States do they sell/use boht models? so, in that case I could get the correct one there, and also offer mine there, correct?What countries or regions uses each of those models?

In the morning when I was trying to switch it on it was not coming on. I put on charging, there was no indication of charging for some time then it started booting. The booting indicator (the line which indicates that the handset is being booted) went half way and stopped. The system did not respond to switch off button. The battery was removed and put back to restart. Every time it boots to half line and hangs.
