I inadvertently hid some media folders, including some photos, videos, ringtones, and documents, and now can't get them back... I tried Media/Explore/Show All/Properties, but the "Unhide" checkbox is grayed out.
Anyone able to hide or unhide (since one seemed to have vanished on me) their picture folders? I had a folder, ticked the hide button but it was still able to be seen. Battery pull (for a different issue) and than the folder is gone and have no idea how one would get it back. It's not like on the 9700.
I have over 150 photos in the Pictures Folder on my Blackberry Torch 9800 and after importing them to my PC, I want to delete them from my BB to regain space and memory.. I can delete these photos one by one following directions in the Guide but it does not make sense to repeat this step 150 times and there must be a quicker way to go about it.
What I want to do is to delete the entire contents of that Pictures Folder in one step. I have looked into the BB Torch User Guide Ver 6.0 and in Help for the BB Desktop Software and have not found any directions on deleting entire folders or multiple files in a folder in one step.
I have the latest bb Bold, and when I go into my media, explore, then click on show hidden files, I can see my hidden files but the problem is, my phone refuses to let me unhide them.
So I checked the box to hide files on my media card but it seems that I can't get them back - I am using 5.0.0.423 and the "explore" option is not present when I click the menu button under "media". Any other ideas?
My cousins managed to "hide" all the icons associated with my email accounts and now I can't seem to unhide them. When i highlight the "hidden" icon and press the button to open up the menu no menu comes up. But it works with other icons, I press the button to call up the menu and it works (i can even hide and unhide other icons at will)
unhide pictures in my picture folder?i had pictures and did something in the properties that said hide but now i dont now where to go unhide them to show again in my picture library?
Does anyone know how to 'unhide' pictures that I have previously hidden? You can easily hide them by clicking the 'hidden' box under Properties for any picture....but I can't find a way to unhide.
I'm not familiar with Maemo (Linux), but in Windows there are temporary folders that start filling up and need emptying every so often.
Now I've installed and uninstalled a few apps on my N900 and opened a few email attachments and in Windows there would be left-over temporary files that should automatically be deleted but aren't, and because of this there are windows apps designed to remove all unnecessary temp files and folders as well as cleaning out the registry.Does the same sort of thing happen in Linux/Maemo? Does Maemo use a Registry that can get 'dirty'?
When viewing an email attached image, I can view its details which tell me it's stored in a folder called something like '69987334' inide a folder called 'var'. Where is this 'var' folder? And is the image and folder deleted when I close the viewer or am I building up a collection of viewed attachments?
I'm trying to backup my phone to flash a stock LP (to try to fix some problems with the battery) but I'm having this strange problem. When I connect my phone to the pc I can see most of the folders, but not all of them, and a lot of files doesn't seem to be there. On the phone, with Explorer, I can see everything so I don't understand what could be the issue.
A fellow I work with owns a Xenon. He received a .jpg from someone that he wanted to move into a file folder. So he creates the folder but then can't figure out how to move the file INTO it.Menu options, touch-dragging, holding down the icon for the image hoping for a menu nothing. He sees that he can move the file between phone memory and his SD card... but he doesn't want to do that. JUST wants to move the file into the file folder he made.
On Win 7 when I connect my phone to the computer some files and folders don't show up even though they are indeed there. Is this a compatibility or driver issue?
I have rooted and installed the custom recovery everything is working fine, but this is just a little weird.
I have just tried to backup and update my iphone to iOS 5.1. The backup seems to have worked but when it came to restoring the iphone, I think the hard disk ran out of space and so it failed. I saw this and so I freed up around 3Gb of disk space and I tried it again. It again failed. Again I noticed that there was no space left on the hard disk. I assumed that to continue the restore it probably won't need that much more space (as it had already done most of the work) so I freed up a few more Gb.
Again it failed. When it fails, itunes leaves the partially restored elements on my hard disk meaning that my 'Apple Computer' folder is now 28Gb!! I cannot afford to delete anything else from the hard disk. I am using a PC by the way. I have noticed that in the folder 'Apple ComputerMobileSyncBackup' has 5 folders in it which is the same amount that I tried to restore the iphone (before the last restore attempt there were 4 folders). These folders amount to 20Gb. From this I am assuming that the actual backup that I made is infact in 'Apple ComputeriTunesMobile Backups'. Can I delete the folders in 'MobileSyncBackup'? This would free up 20Gb of disk space giving me enough to properly restore (in theory!).
I am following the instructions to copy the files from my xoom to a windows 7 PC (64 bit). It does not copy all the files and folders. For example when I do the select all instructed I only get 4 of the 13GB of data. I saw that it only copied the music files in the directory music, none of the sub-directories. I could then select all the folders in music and copy them over (none of my music on the xoom has any DRM). I was still missing some files. When I hook the xoom up via the USB cable I get the following mounted:
ComputerXoomInternal Storage
I can not drag Internal Storage to the folder created on the windows 7 pc, it is just a red circle with a line thru it. I can select all the directories/folders under Internal Storage, but it randomly picks which directories/files/sub-directories to copy.
Perhaps a problem with the win 7 pc driver?
Before I send the xoom off (and I have my packing box already) I would like to back it up completely.
I recently purchased a new N900 phone. After installing pc suite and connecting the phone to pc suite, I did not know what I did, but I found out my device now has all duplicate files/folders such as 2 video files, 2 music files .etc and they are all identical.
I tried a search with no luck.On the device or in desktop manager, how can I view the all the folders on the tour? I can't figure out how (probably a stupid question). Also, i created a sheet to go file on the tour and want to transfer it to my computer. I see no options in desktop manager how to do it. I am using a trial preium version of sheets to go on the bb.
I have 8 applications on my Nokia N97 Mini that I cannot delete. When I click on them the file just flashes, and when i try to delete them the phone says it cant as they are a "corrupted file".I tried, soft reset, hard reset (factory reset) and it doesn't help, the files are still there! All I can do with them is move them around different folders. Also when using application manager it doesn't find them, so I cant even delete using that! Please can someone help?
I just installed Kaspersky mobile, and after a scan I've seen more than 18000 jpegs in E:system, a folder that I cannot access from phone or via Nokia Suite. Is there any way I can browse that folder and delete unwanted files? I think I got lots of useless files there after I installed Nokia Belle since lots of applications dissapeared. Also, I'm trying to see the hidden process that runs on my phone and I have no idea how because that dont shows in the application list. I dont know how to free more space on C: , got 46 Mb free and I dont know to free up more space.
Does anyone have some advice about deleting unnecessary files and folders left on the SD card after GB to ICS upgrade? There are files and folders dating back to 1979 - which sounds ridiculous, of course, but they may be current.
From the research that I have done, it appears that I can add, move, delete or rename email folders on my blackberry device only if I have the enterprise version of the operating system. Is there any way to be able to organize my messages on my device other than a huge inbox as a personal (not enterprise) user?If possible I'd like to synchronize my folders, but I'd settle to just be able to create my own folders on my blackberry for organization purposes.Maybe it's just me, but this seems like a huge weakness when comparing to other types of mobile devices.
