I changed my application permissions for one of my apps. Now when the phone starts the app gives me a popup informing me that it is attempting to open a file connection which is not allowed. Everytime I click OK however, it just prompts again. This means I cannot change the permissions or even remove the app, as the popup is always on top.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI finnaly figured out how to downgrade my 3gs newbootrom from 4.0 to 3.1.3 using an shsh saved on my computer (not sauriks server) I then used spirit JB. I went ahead and installed Appsync for 3.1.x (or whatever it was called) then I seperatley installed installous which attempted to overwrite my install of appsync causing an error saying theres a conflict and when the phone tried to respring it was history... Has this happened to anyone? Should I just not install appsync seperatley and let it install with installous?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI woke up yesterday to find my 3GS (with iOS4) was displaying the 'Connect to iTunes' message for no apparent reason. After connecting it to iTunes, a message popped up in iTunes saying I had to enter a password on the iPhone in order to access it, which I couldn't do as the Phone was showing the 'Connect to iTunes' message. After looking through several Apple help articles I put the iPhone into recovery mode in order to try to restore it. However, every time the progress bar on the iPhone screen hangs just before finishing, and iTunes says there was an error ( Error 1002 ). I have tried the restore numerous times now with the same results, and have tried all the solutions in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275 At the moment I am left with an iPhone that I cannot use. View 7 Replies View Relatedmy Lumia 1020 struggles to connect to (any) pc. When I connect the phone via usb, the pc will make its sound for recognizing a new device, and after 1 second the sound for "losing" the device comes.If I keep the device connected, an "endless" loop starts between those two sounds. I think it's probably because of a loose connection of the usb or something. But I really hope it's not. I tried to have the cable stay still and don't move it, but I can't do anything against those sounds.
When I load the device with usb there isn't such problem (for example with the loading battery sound).I can't save any pictures from the device with this problem.
Originally I had a US Xoom. After the 3.1 update, so many months ago, it started rebooting almost as soon as it had booted. The reboot trigger seemed to be when it connected with the Wifi. A factory reset would cure it for a few hours but otherwise turning off the wifi was the only permanent solution.Motorola fixed it by giving me a UK Xoom - and 3.0. And it was good until the much anticipated, and delayed, 3.1 update, and it started again. After a bit i realised it was a combination of an old and slightly unreliable Wifi base-station and, I assume, a change in the Android Wifi s/w that made it less tolerant of imperfections. Now I reboot the base-station.

Tried using the BDM to "switch devices" and it was LOADS of problems installed the newest one. THOUGHT I finally was able to transfer all the info to my new phone, but here's where the real problem starts Okay, when it starts to reboot, that progress bar fills ALLLL the way up, sits there for like 2 minutes, and then restarts AGAIN with the little red light, the progress bar fills ALLLL the way up, sits there for like 2 minutes, and then restarts YET AGAIN and it's been doing this for the last 10 hours! I have removed the battery and media card and EVERYTHING, left it out for like 10 minutes, reinserted the media card and battery and it just keeps doing this. If I try to connect it to the computer, the computer won't recognize it and the BDM says, "Blackberry Desktop Manager cannot communicate with the connected blackberry device. If the device is rebooting or has a dead battery, click Retry to attempt to reconnect once the device reboots. Otherwise you might need to update the blackberrry device software to correct the problem"How in the world am i supposed to update the software on the device if i can't stop it from rebooting?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI had bad connection on my micro USB and sent the phone for repair. SE seems to have exchanged the connector and has also updated the software. Seems to to newer than whats available online. (that problem seems to be solved)As usual I did manage to get double sets of contacts both in my phone and in Outlook. I did then remove all duplicates and forced my oulook contacts to the phone. Now it is stuck in syncronization and first complained about too many contacts removed and now seem to complain about too many calendar items removed. It keeps doing that and reboots every 10-15 minutes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a clean (wiped to factory reset) BB8800, with a first time installation of BB Desktop Manager on a new PC. The BBDM is 5.0.1.16. Everything is uncluttered with previous detritus.
However, when I connect the BB to the Desktop Manager, it asks me to update the Application Loader. I follow the instructions:
OK to upgrade
Disconnect BB
Click OK to close BBDM
Closes Desktop Manager,
Downloads 16Mb file
Goes to MS Installer
Verifies the files
Installs the files
It reopens the Desktop Manager
Then lo and behold, it asks me to UPDATE THE APPLICATION LOADER!!!
I'm on Application Loader 5.0.1.52. Is there any chance of downloading the newer Application Loader directly because everytime I go through the loop, it's downloading the installer files, and I can't find it in the cache.

my BlackBerry Torch 9800 is in a rebooting loop. I was downloading an update to an app from the BB App World, and then it started to install (also had a notification that it was installing), then two seconds later, the screen went black. Later, the LED flashed red and started to boot. Then, it kept on doing this in a loop.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOne morning my torch 9860 didnt start and ended up in an infinite restart loop, the LED turns red for 6 seconds then is goes out, and then again red LED then goes out. Screen is always black. I've tried with JL_cmder and BBSAK but it wont recognize the device. I tried to catch it with AppLoader, and I can do the UNKNOWN PIN thing, but then when the JVM is starting to initialize again it will go into an infinite loop again.

I have tried reinstalling the OS using the AppLoader, tried simply hitting "Update" from my Desktop Manager, I have essentially tried everything I have found online about a "nuked or bricked BB". I have been working on this for days.The problem is that, because of the reboot loop, my phone will not stay connected to my computer long enough for anything to actually happen. However, the phone shutdown suddenly, and it tried to reboot. It has since failed to boot up, and keeps on shutting down, while trying to reboot. The progress bar always reaches approx. 95%+, and then it starts again. I have already done Battery pull etc., and connected it with a charger - but so far no luck with it. Connected it to the laptop as well - but it does not recognize it either. I have a backup from a couple of weeks ago, so I am wondering, how I can reset the device and restore to an earlier backup? This is a month old Torch 9800 device.

(3gs on 3.1.2, new baseband, with 3.1.3 backed up on cydia...and im running windows XP)
here is what happend:
--tried to set file permissions for the calender app bc it was not letting me add new apointments after SSHing the file from another phone
--used ifile to 1st: private/var/mobile/Library/Calendar (i went one step further) as far as i could go before an edit, then clicked the blue arrow and while the permissions was root, i noticed that it set to read and write only. so i changed this to RWE.
--went back to calendar tried to add a new apt -- no go, didnt work
--back to ifile 2nd: private/var/mobile/Library/Calendar (one step less than the first time) clicked the blue arrow and saw that permissions was mobile. so i changed that to root.
--closed ifile opened SBsettings, and clicked respring. i thought maybe this would cause the changes to take effect. i hit respring three times before it respnded... then it resprung to the sad iphone
--from the sad iphone it has been caught in the respring loop. it goes from the sad iphone to my normal lock screen (i dont run any lockscreen apps).
here is what i have done so far:
--i replaced the Calendar.sqlitedb file with the old (presumably good) file from the old phone via SSH. this seemed to help a little in that now i was able to slide the slider but still, nothing, just back to the loop.
--i attempted to restore from backup in itunes. after about 10 minutes, nothing was happening; the phone continued to loop and itunes seemed to make no progress. so i disconnected the wire.
--i held down the home and sleep buttons until the phone powered down. holding down just the sleep/power button only caused the screen to dim, but the loop continued.
--once the power was off, i turned it back on and ran blackra1n from recovery mode. phone returned to loop.
--powered down again, same method and once in recovery mode, connected to itunes. itunes said it had to restore before it could do anything. i disconnected...
--ran blackra1n again, and once more while back in the loop, and still nothing. but now when i slide, i am seeing the error message about mobile substrate, however, it does not fully appear in that the phone starts to respring before anything can happen. i have been sliding the slider and each time the screen stops at a different level, meaning that i can see the icon animation but the respring stops it at various points. while writing this, i got a text message. it displayed, and then disappeared on the next respring.
Should i do a full hard reset, should i delete stuff via SSH, DFU, i dont know, but it seems like the phone is still intact enough not to need a full restore (which would = re-jailed...).
My device/phone became unresponsive, so I took the battery our to do a full reset. Now the phone stays on a continuous loop trying to start. Blackberry Torch 9800.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 950xl, yesterday I felt it get incredibly hot in my pocket. pulled it out, the phone seemed to have switched off. I just could not turn it back on again, but it remained hot. Pulled battery out and put it back in. Still could not turn it on. Attached it to charger, battery icon showed as empty, then phone went into endless reboot cycle. Left it on charge overnight and in the morning was still in its endless reboot cycle, with battery still showing as dead. Could not hard reset either.

This started happening in the last couple of days. my phone makes calls one after the other. I have no idea what happened. My phone has always been flawless. It even makes calls while I am talking on the phone.
I called Verizon and they have a reconditioned phone waiting at a local store. I hate to give up my phone for someone elses problem phone.
Bought the phone on the day the phone was released. Everything was perfect until today. Endless reboot. The signal indicator is crossed out (red crossed out circle). Makes me think the radio is somehow fried. Tried factory reset.. Same thing. Endless reboot.
