BB Torch 9800 :: Where To Set Image Stabilization On Phone
Aug 19, 2010
OK, I have searched all over and can't find where to set the Image Stabilization on the Torch. The documentation says to do this:
# On the Home screen, click the Camera icon.
# Press the Menu key key > Options.
# Select the Image Stabilization check box.
# Press the Menu key key > Save.
I don't have IS under Options - only Digital Zoom, Picture Review, Image Size, Convenience Keys, Storage and Store Pictures.
Does the 9700 really have image stabilization? All the specs I can find say it does, but I don't have the option to turn it on or off like I did on the Storm. Was it removed in .423?
I love the K850i. I could take a picture of a desk fan turned on with it, and it would look like it was off. Its image stabilizer was simply amazing. I never go down mega pixels. I currently have a w995. But, how good is the C905 for image stabilization? I tried the Satio. No good. Nor was Aino. I guess my question is what phone has got image stabilization the same as the k850i with over 5mp.
How to disable the image stabilization? It's a beautiful feature that works extremely well, however I wouldn't mind disabling it for certain pictures, and definitely when recording videos!
Had a torch 9800 for 18 months now and always been working fine... until today. I went to use the camera and it all seemed to open up fine but instead of seeing what the lens sees the screen was black. The centre focus [ ] was there and I could zoom back and forth just a black screen. When I click for a photo I get a message " Unable to capture the image " I have searched the web and found nothing conclusive. Battery pulls, a full wipe and installation of the o/s have made no difference to it's lack of function.
i had a blackberry torch 9800 which i backed up to the blackberry desktop then it was sent away for a repair and they replaced it with anew 9800 i have tried to recover everything from the desktop but it says i need the old blackberry first?
I recently purchased a Blackberry Sync Pod and for some reason the phone will not charge while on the dock. The phone wil enter bedside mode and i get a message stating that the phone will not charge. I am able to charge the phone without the dock using the exact same cable. The retailer isnt willing to assist in this matter as they say it is something I need to take up with the manufacture.whats wrong or how to make the phone charge?
As an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
I wanted to transfer my contacts, ringtones, pictures, and memo pad info from my storm 2 to the 9800. I didn't want to use the DM "Switch Devices" utility because I don't want everything copied over including the settings. The pictures and contacts were easy as I just switched SD cards.Ringtones and pictures I transferred over by plugging in the phones up and used Windows to simply drag the files over.My problem is the memo pad info. How do I get that to my 9800?
just got my new Blackberry Torch 9800.Don't know how i managed to do this but i just have my wife as a contact, when i try to phone my wife, i go to contacts my wifes number comes up, but when i try to ring her, the phone says Disconnected.
I updated Facebook on my BlackBerry Torch 9800 now can't get Facebook on my phone, what to do? I tried deleting & downloading, Deleting & downloading Bete Version, everything nothing works & its in the phone but not recognized so their is No Icon.
I have apps that work over 3G when wifi is off, so I have to have a working data plan right?Exchanged phones about 3 hours ago. I received the messages from AT&T about the device being registered. Everything seems to work.
I was told I qualify for an upgrade and the phone I wanted to upgrade to is the blackberry 9800.. I know it's not out yet but I was just wondering if you were able to give me any information on when you guys are expecting it, I've heard aug 15th but I just wanted to see from you guys if that was true. Hopefully you can help me out!
I've had my torch for 5 days and all was going well until today. Phone kept turning off and freezing up. Called support and they told me to get a new phone. Has anyone else found this to be a recurring problem?
I have been keeping recommending iPhone 4 to my girlfriend, who is going to get her Master degree from Columbia Univ and step into business world. And she said, "wow, it looks wonderful but too naive/childish for me".
And then I bought her the iPod Touch, just for casual use. (I would make Torch a great surprise since she always wants a Blackberry. Samsung sucks btw, we have had 3 Samsung phones and they are all crap - hardware-wise).
I love iPhone, but I could not live without a keyboard phone. Sorry Droid and iPhone fanboys, touchscreen just sucks for business users/ users mainly do texing and little cell-photo-taking.
If you are not a college boy, and you are a real businessman, I bet you would be as busy as me so 40% of your time is for emails/texting/notepad/calendar, 30% for phone calls, 20% or less for web browsing, and 10% for enjoying music when driving (or on subways while reading newspapers) and other multimedia functions.
And seriously, I only use my phone to take pictures of notes on whiteboard or product labels when I don't have a camera at hand. And if you really like taking photos, DSLR would do you good.
Do you really need a 800x600 display for texting?phone calls?. And how much do you rely on web browsing by cell phone? It's just for checking some information when you are outside.
Let's see what Torch does best from all kinds of reviews: Gizmo, Engadget, BGR, Crackberry.... 1). Top notch keyboard - good for 40% of time texting/emails/notepad/calendar 2). Great call quality - good for another 30% of time, and no drop calls/death grips 3). WebKit Browser - enough for 20% of time web browsing - after all we all own laptops (you don't have one?) 4). Improved media experience - I am ok with just listening to music. I seldom watch videos on handheld devices - only nerds do it often.
Hence, the bottom line: is there any other good keyboard phone out there? (with a touch screen and not as ugly/huge as Droid)?
=) CPU is fine, Screen resolution is fine (I am really ok with texting and managing my business life with Bold's screen resolution). After all, do you really spend 80% of your time on cell phone while you have friends and can do all the things on a computer?
BlackBerry Torch at Half Price After Only One Week.I don't want to sound like a doomsdayer, but this doesn't bode well for RIM at all. I really hope RIM can get its act together and win back users. I don't want to see RIM go under because I really like my BlackBerry and don't want to have to switch to something else should RIM go out of business and my BIS suddenly cease.
I went to the store yesterday to play with the torch. I like it a lot and will probably upgrade from my 9000. however, I dont like the lock (rather, the unlock) and the sales guy said he didn't know of an answer for me.
in short, you lock it by hitting the button on the top left. no worries. however, to unlock, you either open the slider or hit the lock button again. this is not a very "positive" way of unlocking, if you ask me. its quick and easy, but not a very good way to keep the phone locked in your pocket or whatever. I can easily see me bumping the unlock button when the phone's in my pocket and dialing or browsing or any number of functions from touch enable home screen. I dont think the slide is likely to open in a cargo pocket, but the button could definetely get pushed. for those of yall that have had one for a while, am I missing something? is there a way to "override" this and make it so it only unlocks when you manually do something?
I recenlty was in NY and i bought a BlackBerry torch 9800, now i'm in spain and i want to unlock it in order to use with spain sim card, anyone can suggest a guide or a website to unlock my torch?By the way my BlackBerry torch was bought from at&t .
When i take my battery out and put it back in the phone starts rebooting and then quits and a picture of a battery with an X through it appears on the screen???
My phone just started acting up when I try to use my camera. Everytime y try using my camera my phone reboots itself.
I have kept my phone up to date with updates and I have been taking good care of it.
I've already ruled out:
-Water damage (has never been wet or near water whatsoever -Phone software version (have tried downgrading to multiple versions and upgrading to latest) -Restore to security copies made when camera worked
I just bought a 9800 and cannot talk on the phone without it going to speaker, mute, or adding a participant to the phone call. I have tried locking the phone while talking, but still run into the same problems. Is there a solution? Do I need to just hold the phone 5 inches away from my fat cheeks? I know this is silly, but it is really irritating.
My wife and I both own Torch 9800's...the other day upgraded her bbm, but I clearly must have done something else in the process because now both our contact lists are synced. All her contacts are on my phone and vice versa. If I edit/delete a contact on my phone, the changes take place on her phone too.
My Torch 9800 has recently started to ring when set to vibrate only - which setting I prefer in business meetings. A reboot by battery removal makes no difference. On 'Silent' setting my phone behaves as it should.
I like the Torch a lot. The for factor suits me. I have no problems with it. I would however like to have an app or some way to disable the touch screen so that Im using the trackpad as im used to. In any case apart from web browsing i use the trackpad mostly.
Im not saying the touch screen is bad or faulty or I shld get another phone etc! I just want to know if anyone who is using apps like pattern lock etc have come across a way to make the Torch disable its touch screen - even if for a short while?
