View 2 Repliesdoes optical image stabilization work when taking still images? Or is it only for video?
does the S6's OIS work better or the same as the iPhone 6 Plus?
Can't seem to find it after the update and other users have also reported the same. Why was it removed?
Â
Or does this mean that there's no need since by default, the Z5 already has a hardware stabilization mechanism (closed-loop actuator) in place?
OK, I have searched all over and can't find where to set the Image Stabilization on the Torch. The documentation says to do this:
# On the Home screen, click the Camera icon.
# Press the Menu key key > Options.
# Select the Image Stabilization check box.
# Press the Menu key key > Save.
I don't have IS under Options - only Digital Zoom, Picture Review, Image Size, Convenience Keys, Storage and Store Pictures.
How to disable the image stabilization? It's a beautiful feature that works extremely well, however I wouldn't mind disabling it for certain pictures, and definitely when recording videos!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI love the K850i. I could take a picture of a desk fan turned on with it, and it would look like it was off. Its image stabilizer was simply amazing. I never go down mega pixels. I currently have a w995. But, how good is the C905 for image stabilization? I tried the Satio. No good. Nor was Aino. I guess my question is what phone has got image stabilization the same as the k850i with over 5mp.
View 14 Replies View RelatedAfter having used the E72-1 (Made in Finland) for almost three weeks, I have the following observations. First I must note that though the list of positive points is shorter than the list of negative points, this should not scare one away from the E72! Positive experiences are more difficult to note than negative ones are. I am very happy with the E72, and most certainly don't regret it! Some people recommended to get the E71 (I expected the E72 to be available only in mid-January and at a much higher price, until I was suddenly informed it would be available in December already), but I didn't do so, primarily because of the following: HSUPA, 3.5mm audio connection, 5 MP camera. These are really significant improvements over the E71!
POSITIVE
* Battery life is quite decent. Since I do tend to charge it both at home and at the office by default, I haven't really tested it extensively, except for one day: I used it very intensively during some 5 hours on a hiking trip in the forest. I took 70 pictures, made 4 videos totaling some 10 minute, sent 5 pictures through Gmail, had a 15-minute phone call, 10-minute Nimbuzz call, some 2 hours on GPS (Google Earth) with tens of position fixes, and some time chatting on Nimbuzz. After that, it was almost empty. I wouldn't expect anything else after such use. (Since I had my laptop with me as well with some 12 hours of power, I could have charged via USB sleep-and-charge from my laptop, if needed).
* I like the optical pad. I only use laptops (as opposed to desktop computers); it's similar to a laptop touchpad, which I use all day. If you use laptops a lot, you'll love this.
* Camera is excellent. Both video and pictures.
* Email client works fine. Both Exchange and Gmail work fine, without any problems. For Exchange, I get new mails on my phone, through 3G, even before I get them on my laptop (Outlook 2007), through company LAN!
* GPS is excellent. Works great with Google Maps.Gets GPS fix in seconds.
* Bluetooth to laptop works fine (heard some things about problems with Bluetooth, though one source said this is specifically regarding earpieces, which I don't use).
* Signal strength is quite good. Switches from EDGE to 3.5G *and back* without problems.
NEGATIVE
* I had the spacebar-not-working issue just once. Rebooting fixed it.
* When you connect the phone through USB, sometimes it will start charging, sometimes not. (No relation to USB port, nor to battery status). Sometimes you just have to plug it in three times before it will charge through USB.
* Built-in chat client is more or less useless.
* GPS trip distance barely seems to work; first it registered me as having had a 26 km/h max speed while walking (not running!), then after walking for an hour it told me I had walked 350 meters.
* Sometimes, there is no sound in both Nimbuzz and Fring on calls via Skype and Google Talk. Often, the other party can hear me, but I cannot hear them (sometimes, neither side heard anything). Since this happens both with Fring and with Nimbuzz, it must be something in the phone.
* The spacebar is small. It is manageable, but small. Takes some time to get used to.
* On my (Israeli) edition, Hebrew (and ciphers) are in white, and English is in dark orange, which is almost unreadable. This is very annoying, since I, as - I imagine - most users of a phone like this, use English more than Hebrew. If anything annoys me, this is it. After a while of course, I don't need to look at the keys any more - but it's still annoying.
* The battery cover comes off easily, but *only* if you want it to. It will never fall off during normal use - only if you're actively and consciously touching the battery cover. I cannot imagine walking on the street, calling, and the battery cover suddenly falling on the sidewalk (which is the impression you get from some comments I read).
* I want to have flash off by default on the camera. Haven't yet found a way to do that.
If anyone has more questions, feel free to ask! Also, if you want to see 70 pictures and 4 videos shot with my E72, let me know and I'll send you the link to download them (219 MB).
S6 has amazing ois built-in, but their "software" stabilization is absolute nightmare
It will make your video wobble like crazy no matter what you do.
It kills me that a lot of people don't know this and end up trashing s6's video taking capability because of that
Once it's turned off the video becomes very very smooth and undoubtedly takes best vid in the market right now...
I just got my S5 and I am trying to set things up. Can some one tell me how to find Picture Stabilization in the camera settings? From what I have read its best to turn this off to take quicker shot. The problem is I cant find that in the settings section.

View 10 Replies View RelatedCamera will not capture images. Purely states 'unable to capture image'. Video camera comes up with coloured lines, no image. Reasonably new handset, have tried rebooting and clearing down all apps.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy old phone used to save picture/videos with full dates (eg. "IMG_20120513_215914"), while my new one (the HTC One) saves them with just sequential numbering (eg. "IMAG0004").
Is there any way to change this? I much preferred knowing when my pictures were taken.
Very disappointed in the results I've gotten in the first month of using this camera. Even with flash activated in very decent indoor light, the shutter speed seems to default to 1/20 second. Since it's virtually impossible to hold any camera - much less an iPhone - perfectly still at that slow of a speed, the shots are predictably blurry and most are simply unusable. (BTW, none of the shots I'm describing are zoomed and hdr is off.)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI take a lot of photos for my business.
I do not need to store them permanently on the phone by would prefer to store them in iCloud fro viewing later on iPhone5, iPad Air, or Mac Book Pro as needed.
I find I am hitting a storage limit on the iPhone5 and need to resolve this without permanently losing images by deleting them.
Some times I take photos from the iPad Air.Â
a couple months ago i finally decided i needed to get a new phone becase it seemed the camera on my old w810i was starting to out - it wouldnt focus very well and the camera button wouldn't snap a picture too reliably anymore. I figured it was probably because i had taken thousands and thousands of images over the time i had the phone since 2006 - i think the last image i took with the 810i was named something like 'dsc06912'. I'm in the US and att is my provider, so i 'upgraded' to an iphone4 but returned it after a couple of weeks primarily because i learned i really like a dedicated camera button. So I switched to the SE Vivaz with no iphone restock fee - nice. I really liked the vivaz hardware size and camera but that symbian os just didn't cut it, especially after using the iphone and the wifi internet experience was pathetic...so after i couple more weeks turned the vivaz in for this xperia x10 - with a restock fee tho.
one of the things thats bugging me about this x10 is that the image filenames keep getting reset each time i download and erase the image files from the phone microsd memory card. in the w810i, even when i did this the filenames still incremented correctly when i took more pictures, thus I new that 'dsc06912' was the 6,912 picture i had taken. with this x10, it starts over at 'dsc_0001' everytime i start taking pictures after downloading the previous batch of images to my computer. (Even the Vivaz continued to increment correctly after i downloaded the images - i guess thats one good thing the nokia folks got right since i believe the w810i used symbian like the vivaz.)i have looked and looked through all the places i can in the x10 android 1.6 os and can find no where to make the filenumbering not re-set.
When ever I start my camera it locks on the first image when the camera app starts. So, moving around or adjusting to the exact picture you want is impossible, because the screen is frozen with that original image.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI always capture raw (rather than jpeg) images with my digital camera. Post processing raw files in Lightroom gives me greater exposure latitude and dynamic range. This is the one thing I miss from my LG G3. I'd love to see Samsung include this capability in a firmware update.

The problem is that after I move photos from Neo to a PC, the numbering next photos does not continue, and start anew. I this way I lost a few photos while uploading files to PC. This name method is correct or not? Before SE Xperia I had Nokia smartphone, so it was add in the file name, except for the odered number, the date + time with seconds.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a us unlocked version of the d6603 and noticed after a super clean install....(factory reset, then installed updated software .232) the camera seems to overall have much more noise in the image.... Where as photos before the update were much cleaner and had much less noise... Right now it's almost like it has artificial film grain....
The only thing I haven't tried is the factory reset that you do when your battery is above 80 percent..
Camera and vid recorder have stopped working. Camera message is could not capture image. Lots of space on card. Worked perfectly almost 2 yrs to now. Still able to see pics and videos and all menus appear functional.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have used Sony Ericsson phones for years and all my previous phones have had a feature on the camera whereby you could zoom in on a photograph you've taken, and then save the zoomed/close-up image as a seperate photograph.
If this feature exists on the Mini Pro, I certainly can't find it. I took a photo with the camera of something quite far away. The camera will let me zoom in on the bit of the image I want to see, and will allow me to view it, but I want to save the zoomed image. The far-away image is useless to me.
I have a photo in my camera roll on my phone that I believe is corrupted. I received it through the "Bump" app. After receiving the photo and adding it to my camera roll, when I go into that specific conversation in "Bump" the app crashes.
When I open my camera to take a photo, it shows everything fine, snaps a photo, and then crashes without saving. When I open my photos, I can go into every album except my camera roll, when I click on my camera roll it crashes.
I have Windows Vista and I can copy all the photos using the windows import photos, and when I click the "delete all after import" button, it will start to delete them, until it gets to that photo than stops.. And does not delete any photos out of my camera roll.
So I need a way to delete ALL of the photos out of my camera roll, without doing it manually, as that is clearly not a possibility. And a way to do it using Windows Vista.

iPhone 3GS, iOS 5
In the camera roll, you can go to location and it will show where you've been based on the pictures you've taken. Obviously, if you remove the pictures these locations disappear. If I remove them, can I later sync them back to my phone and have the location data show up again? If so, how? If not, is there any other way for me to find similar data on my phone without the photos? Like it shows where I've been based off of cellular location or something? It might sound strange but I'd like to have a visual representation (on map view, as it is in camera roll) of where I've been, but I simply don't have the room to be storing all these photos!

Had a torch 9800 for 18 months now and always been working fine... until today. I went to use the camera and it all seemed to open up fine but instead of seeing what the lens sees the screen was black. The centre focus [ ] was there and I could zoom back and forth just a black screen. When I click for a photo I get a message " Unable to capture the image " I have searched the web and found nothing conclusive. Battery pulls, a full wipe and installation of the o/s have made no difference to it's lack of function.

I updated 3 weeks ago my E72's firmware, after i done this my phone became a "little" slow.
If I use my video camera the image gets to be stuck every 5 seconds, when I watch the video on my pc or even on the E72, the sound is good but the images are most of the time mixed up or stuck...
also: when i put up a connection like making a call or browsing on the internet, the time it takes to connect to the server is ALOT longer...the camera and the connection worked a bit better before the firmware update...(BTW this is my first bad xp with Nokia, normally a business phone is close to bug free. This is close to no-wurth-selling...)
