May 6, 2011I have been and forth with tech support at Rogers at least 8 times over the past 4 days trying to get my BB Torch's data services to function properly.The sim is in...shows 3G (but no dots) and I have the device registered on my BIS account. I can call and text but I can't PIN nor can I setup email accounts etc. NOTE: my BB Torch has never worked yet with my SIM...They have tried everything but now say it has been escalated to their higher up support engineers and that it will take 3-5 business days to get back to me.

My "text message" icon recently disappeared from the "All" menu. It was seemingly replaced by a second "contacts" icon. Luckily I had it in the "favorites" menu as well so I can still access them. However it is annoying to have to flip to the favorites menu just to read a text message.
I have since set it so text messages go to the general messages inbox, however I would prefer to get the icon back. I have tried pulling the battery to no avail.
BB Style :: Have Lost Several Important Emails By Assuming They Were Safe In A Folder And Then Deleting Them On It?
Nov 18, 2010I use Hotmail for email. It used to be that if I moved a message to a folder in hotmail (on my laptop) and then deleted it from my inbox on the BB, the message would still be in the folder. Now it seems that if I delete a message on my BB, it deletes it from my email account, no matter where it's stored. Is this new or do I need to change a setting to fix it? I have lost several important emails by assuming they were safe in a folder and then deleting them on it.

Oct 2, 2012my toddler granddaughter deleted my text message icon. I tried the suggestions that others said worked for them (ie removing the battery to force a reboot while the phone is turned on and trying to unhide the icon). Neither one worked for me. Even doing ALT S doesn't let me look at my text messages.

Apr 8, 2012I have somehow lost the icon for "contacts". My contacts are still there, I can find them by searching but don't have an icon on my home page (or anywhere else) to click on to add new contacts or find old ones. Can anyone advise what I've done? I've tried synching with my laptop but that hasn't brought the icon back, and I've powered off. I backed up to the cloud earlier but am a bit bothered about trying a full restore! Besides, the contacts icon was missing when I last backed up, so it probably wouldn't come back anyway!

Jan 16, 2010I'm new to this forum, and joined out of necessity as I have a strange problem which wasn't solved by servicing or replacing the phone.I have a new E72 and my old phone was (or I still use it) E51.
When I'm at home (!) my E72 shows full signal, "3G" symbol, etc., but when opening the web browser and trying to connect to inernet, the browser crashes immediately and can only download "0 kb". Also friends trying to call me have their calls directed to voicemail or "recipient unreachable". SMS messages do not necessarily arrive immeadiately, but only after I have booted the whole phone. Funny thing is that OUTSIDE my house this problem never seems to occur (OK, I don't know if someone tries to call me and doesn't reach, but seems like the web is working always). I live in a normal apartment building in the middle of Helsinki, the capital of Finland, so there should be no problem of signal and all the signal seems to be at full strength. I'm writing this message on my laptop using a 3G wireless connection - no problems.This was never happening with E51 (same SIM-card and operator) So, I took my E72 to service and got it back week later, or in fact I got a "new one" as they said. In fact, there were still some photos I took before taking the phone to service so perhaps it was the same phone anyway - but had just been reconfigured or something. Anyway - no change in anything. Doesn't work reliably at home. So my only guess is that is there some antenna / connection problem or whatever? Any ideas anyone?
Oh, by the way, I'm and engineer and relatively patient with electronic equipment and did test the phone all around the house and outside, in a train, at office, everywhere. The problems ONLY occur at home.

Sometimes it's 20 sec and sometimes it's 5 min.It doesn't really matter where I use it, school, home or other Wifi areas.I was told there's no solution to this problem. it's just a known Nokia issue, but I believe there's got to be something I could do. I tried downloading another browser from Ovi. It worked fine on WiFi without password/security. But when it comes to school's network or other password-protected Wifi, it is not able to connect without using the orginal browser to connect first and leaving it on while using the new browser.

Jan 23, 2012I've lost all Internet capabilities on my C7; it happened two weeks ago when I went to the middle of nowhere and had no reception whatsoever, upon returning to civilisation the normal phone reception returned fine but the Internet and email will not work at all - it won't pick up previously recognised wi-fi networks and won't connect through my WAP either.
It has happened before but always came back within a day or so, but as said this has now lasted two weeks and absolutely nothing.

Jan 7, 2010After a year and a half of working just fine, my Blackberry 8110 will not connect to my PC via USB. I am using Windows XP Pro ver. 2002 SR 3 and Desktop manager Ver 4.3.0.17. The phone does not appear in Windows device manager when connected, desktop mgr reports no connection and cannot detect the device when prompted. After a hard reset the charging icon appears on the phone momentarily when first plugged into the PC then disappears and will not reappear without another reset. I can charge the unit with an AC charger until I plug it into the PC. After that it is unresponsive to the charger until reset. The phone is fully charged. I read a thread about fiddling with the connection at the phone end of the USB cable. I was able to get an intermittent connection using this technique (or at least the charging icon appeared intermittently), but now that does not seem to make any difference. The AC charger connection is completely solid when I move the plug around. I have removed and reinstalled BDM, no change.Several weeks ago I installed a USB driver for an M audio midi interface and had a great deal of difficulty getting that device to work. I don;t recall whether I have synced the phone since then. I am wondering if that created some sort of conflict or if it somehow corrupted the driver. Other obvious causes are the USB port on the phone or problem with the phone OS. I have tried both USB ports on laptop and both immediately recognize a thumb drive. I don't know how to update/reinstall the RIM driver since the phone other than remove and reinstall BDM which I have done. I am reluctant to wipe the phone without some confidence it will resync. Also thought about switching to bluetooth sync but would rather not buy gear if the phone is KO'd.
