My storm 9530 does not stop showing the up and down arrows for data polling/sending/receiving for hours at a time. They flash on and off as if looking for data until the phone overheats and or completely drains the battery. I have removed applications that use the GPS or update my locations but it still happens. Short of wiping the phone and rebuilding

I updated the firmware and reset the device. Reconfigured it with another email account. But, it still keeps getting emails from the Yahoo account. How can I stop that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo recently my BB storm died so i plugged it in to charge, after a while i came back to it and it wouldn't boot up, it would just continuously reboot. I took it to the verizon store, they didn't help to much. So i came back home tried turning it on and it powered on to a white screen the said "Reload Software, 507" or something like that. So i plugged it in to my computer, launched DM and restored the whole phone back to original .328 OS. After it was done it started working, i was happy until it stopped working again. I let it charge over night and turned it back on in the morning and same thing happened.
I tried the App Loader wizard itself, and i got this message: "The blackberry Desktop software does not have blackberry device software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator."
I was wondering if anyone can assist with this. I have an N86 running the latest v30.9 firmware. I have set the default connection in Settings > Connections > Destinations to 'Always Ask'. However, I have noticed that my phone is still connecting to the internet (3G connected icon showing on the standby screen) even when no other programs are runing (according to a long 'Menu' press). When I receive a call I get a message on screen advising that the packet data connection is on hold. 'Packet data active' shown on screen when the call ends. The log also shows the internet connection is being made and maintained often for hours on end, e.g. through the night. Although the amount of data being sent and received is relatively small, this is still a concern for the future if I'm ever roaming or on a metered tariff. Any help to resolve this is much appreciated.

I closed all my apps cleared my event log and security cleaning as well as did two battery pulls but it still continues to transmit data. View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife is on a school trip to the US. Meanwhile, I am at home in Canada. I am texting her, but I found it odd she never replies and vice versa. So, she discovered that her iPhone (latest iOS 5 release) keeps trying to send the message as an iMessage. It is not reverting to SMS after a given time, as it should and as I have seen it do before. I have tried it now also and my wife only receives my messages when she has a wifi connection (she does not have data roaming enabled). It seems like my iPhone too continously tries to send the message as an iMessage and it does not switch to SMS after a certain timeout time. The message that the iPhone continously tries to send as an iMessage never fails, however the status does not change until the next time my wife is in wifi coverage and the message is delivered.

My browser and email stopped working about 3 days ago and I spent almost a whole day on the phone with support, no help. They had me do everything including delete all my service books and now there is nothing in the host routing table. They finally said, we cant help. View 14 Replies View RelatedI am a customer of Verizon Wireless in the USA and have recently had a brand new phone sent to me. I live in Canada so I have to manually activate my phone. I have no problems doing the manual activation to allow me to make and receive calls. However, I cannot register my phone to get my data usage set up. After hours of troubleshooting over the phone with Verizon, they've some up with the conclusion that I have to be in the US, and on the Verizon network to register the phone. I have always been on the global data plan. So, basically right now I'm with a smartphone that has zero smartphone capabilities. is another way to get this phone activated.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo my boss tossed his phone at me chewing me out because it "doesn't work". I cycle the power and ask what's wrong, his phone will display that a new email has arrived it will download and it will read but once it is read the email disappears never to be found on the phone again. The message is still usable on the computer but for the phone it's 1 and done. I checked out the email options on both the computer and the phone and there's no auto archive to a pst or anything. I really don't want to reset to default because I'm sure there's "important" stuff on the phone that will lead to working over the weekend. The phone also will display missed calls (legit missed calls) but won't show who or when the call was missed.

I tested it out with a friend and I can still send texts out, I just can't recieve them. I tried taking the battery out for a while.

Since then, I do no longer receives the email from the 2 gmail accounts I have configured. I tried to suppress then reconfigure the accounts, without any success. The BB can actually connect to the gmail servers, because I can send emails with these accounts. But I do not receive anything. I still receive the email from my company (default) account (desktop).
