Jun 23, 2014I have an iPhone 4s and lately it does not always ring for calls or texts. The ringer switch is turned on and volume is up. When I test it from my house phone it always works! It does received the calls and texts and records messages, but it doesn't alert me to them coming in. I am missing a lot of calls! What causes it - happens in the house and in the car - but not all the time.

May 30, 2012 it doesn't always ring when I get a call. Yes, Airplane mode is off, the ringer is on. Take yesterday for instance, over a period of 5 hours, four calls didn't ring, 3 went to VoiceMail, one showed as a missed call, three other calls came through normally. During this entire time the phone was sitting on my desk, fully charged.
