I once upon a time had a green indicator that lit up when I got messages. Now for some reason I am not getting this indicator. Can anyone point me in the direction of where I should look to activate this again?
View 8 RepliesIs it me or does it seem that the battery graphic on the notification bar is not telling the true story? The phone (in settings) and widgets say 70% but the icon is in no way close to 3/4 full. It looks more like 90%. It always looks fuller then the battery truly is. I do understand that 70% can be anywhere between 70-79 but that's not close to what it shows on top. It's like Apple and the signal bars and how they showed higher then reality.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had my bionic now for two months tomorrow and have had this problem for almost the whole time. However it has randomly gone away. This time it isnt going away. On tuesday I was sending a text message and my Bionic froze (data, text, etc as we all know they do because of the software) But because of it a text wouldnt send. I went to put it into airplane mode to kick start it back to life however it got stuck in transition between the two. So I shut it down instead. Once it turned off it would not turn back on. (it still had about 15% battery left too) Once home I plugged it in and turned it back on, It came on I turned it from airplane mode to regular. The text failed to send and I resent it. Since that one failed I have had the message not sent notification at the top of my screen. When I touch it. It says message not available. And sometimes it gives me an error message and shuts down the text message app. I am using the stock app. I have tried deleting all conversations, restarting the phone, everything except factory restart which I dont necessarily want to do.
BTW I spoke with Verizon yesterday about poor service when purchasing the phone and she said that google was aware of the issues with data connectivity but the other issues I was experiencing such as texts and restarts were not something that other bionic users were experiencing and I should have the phone replaced with a certified like new replacement. HA! I said upgrade me to a razr and she said that she could not do that.
I am getting an incoming text notification, but can't see the message and there is an envelope with red x by my outgoing

I find this screen to be unnecessary and annoying. It is particularly inconvenient while using navigation. I believe I have been through all the menus, but maybe I'm missing something.
View 5 Replies View RelatedNow that I've had this happen a couple of times and I know I wasn't hallucinating, I wanted to see if anyone else had noticed it.Sometimes, when I get a new text message, I pull down the notification bar, click the notification, and it takes me to a blank text thread, addressed to the person who sent me the message, just as if I was sending a brand new text in a brand new thread to that person. If I back out of it and go back to text messaging, their name is still showing in bold blue, indicating there is a new message, and I can click it and everything is there as expected.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI get no led notification, screen off or of course screen on. Occasionally the led will flash a single time when the phone goes into sleep mode but no more after that. Not for email, text message, nothing. Tried a reset and no led even before re-installing 3rd party apps. None of the led apps worked either.

If I have a text message conversation open and receive a new message from the same contact, the notification icon pops up, I'm properly notified, but then it won't clear without backing out of the conversation to the higher level text messaging section. I have had success a few times with tapping on the new message to clear the notification icon, but not all the time. This was not an issue I noticed with the previous version of Android.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to Gingerbread I noticed that when I go to the recent apps screen and I try to open Tweetdeck (seems to be the only app that does this) I get a "Application is not installed on phone" error message. Which makes no sense because it's running in the background and opens fine. I've cleared my cache and uninstalled and reinstalled TD and still get the error. Assuming this is a bug, but it seems weird to only happen for a specific app.

In settings/sound & notification, the notification volume is turned all the way up, and it's also set to vibrate for calls. She receives audio notification of other messages(Facebook, pintrest). We have Verizon for our provider.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I get a text message from anyone, I get this notification chirp sound that is VERY loud. Once I was walking down the hall at work with it in my hand and the alarm went off. Someone jokingly said it sounded like a pacemaker alarm going off. Anyway, this notification usually startles me and since I share an office with 3 other people in a cubicle, I don't want this notification going off. I don't text a lot thankfully, but when I do this loud alarm really is annoying to both me and I'm sure to my co-workers.
Is there a way to change it to where I do not receive the notification when I get a text message without turning off the rest of the ringtones (i.e. putting it on vibrate)? Or is there somewhere on the phone itself I can change it? Or at least lower the volume of this notification? It doesn't seem to be in direct correlation with the volume of the phone because I've got the ring volume at 1 so I can keep down the volume, but still hear the ringtone when the phone is sitting on my desk. But this notification tone is REALLY loud. My choices shouldn't be "off" and "really loud".
How do you resend them? Sometimes in conversations, a message shows a red "X" which I assume indicates it wasn't sent - I can't figure out how to resend the same message again, or check the status why it didn't send.

Every android phone I've had (Droid, Inc, tbolt etc) has done this. But none has flashed the LED for hours. I'm not sure if it ever turns off.
i tried resetting my phone and removing the battery. The notification light does not work but briefly flashes one time when i recieve an email or text message!

Possibly, it is due to the phone being registered out of MI, with a MI area code, and the phone and myself, are actually located in a western state. Irregardless, I have not received any notification of an upgrade and before I go looking for it, is it really worthwhile at this time, or should I wait until all the bugs I'm reading about are fixed?My X with Froyo, is operating great. No problems other than maybe once a week a freeze up that requires a battery pull. Since I came from the BB world, and I also carry a BB tour for work, battery pulls are no big deal and almost seems natural.I read about problems, not only here, but on a few other forums. I read where people have to take their phones into the local Verizon store for service after GB upgrade. That is not a good option for me, since this involves a 120 mile trip to the nearest Verizon store

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from a Droid2 to a Droid3. My Droid3, when connected, via USB cable to my laptop (running Ubuntu) will charge (lightning bolt on the battery, etc), but no notification sound/icon allowing selection of USB mode. I have a cable I bought from the Verizon store. The same cable works with the droid2 still. I can swap from the droid3 to the droid2 and it would connect and my laptop would mount the sdcard (in usb mass storage mode). I have also tried at different computers at work. I had Verizon send me another refurbished droid3. It wouldn't connect either. Motorola Tier 2 tech walked me through the basic checks again, and had me do many combinations of turning on and off, and unplugging the battery, and factory resets to no avail. I asked the tech support to try it on one of their models and she said it worked there, coming up with a notification.
Next I went into a Verizon store, tested with a new cable and multiple computers there, and had an employee try with their droid3. Still no notification message with either of our phones! They said I should wait for update. I have 90days of warranty on this phone, should I wait for an update or maybe even ICS? or return it with hopes I just have seen three droid3's in a row with this problem, and they are not all like this? Or even possibly a different phone? (i like the droid 3 otherwise).
