Mar 11, 2010I am a customer of Verizon Wireless in the USA and have recently had a brand new phone sent to me. I live in Canada so I have to manually activate my phone. I have no problems doing the manual activation to allow me to make and receive calls. However, I cannot register my phone to get my data usage set up. After hours of troubleshooting over the phone with Verizon, they've some up with the conclusion that I have to be in the US, and on the Verizon network to register the phone. I have always been on the global data plan. So, basically right now I'm with a smartphone that has zero smartphone capabilities. is another way to get this phone activated.

Is pop3 e-mail set up possible without BES, BIS or data plan? Is there a 3rd party e-mail apllication available for blackberry, much like for pc where you can configure a 3rd party software (i.e., ms outlook, ms express, etc.) for your e-mail.
Right now the only way I can check my e-mail is by logging into the internet via wi-fi and going to my internet provider's web site. That is a hassle though as I have to go thru several steps before I can actually check my e-mails.

Aug 8, 2012How do I restore my password keeper data from a backup. The backup shows data being stored but it is greyed out not allowing me to restore it to my BlackBerry Storm2 9550. I recently wiped my phone rejoined my new enterprize server and now tried to restore all my data. Contacts, messages, etc all restored, but I did not get my password keeper data. Dec 14, 2011Originally I thought that it was doing an update of some sort, but it hasn't stopped for a couple days now. It drastically reduces the battery life and sometimes for a couple hours the transmitting just stops. Even when its just connected to wifi it is still transmitting data. No other programs are open besides the messages app, BBM, the home screen, phone, and the browser.

Aug 17, 2010I installed the Five Column Springboard instead of the Five Icon Springboard. Now when I attempt to remove the Five Column Package, I get an error everytime it tries uninstall. Sub-process/usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) When I restart the springboard it goes into Safe Mode. Do I have to SSH into my IPhone and remove the package? Also, my IPhone won't get out of Safe Mode.
