How can I go about sending bb 9500 phone in to Blackberry for repair as software update (to ver 5.0) has not fixed a number of issues.
- issue 1: camera not functioning
- issue 2: faulty touch screen
A few weeks ago I bought my first Blackberry - Storm 9500, Grade A on ebay.Last week on holiday I left it in the glove box of the car for a couple of days and the touch screen stopped working. I could scroll and highlight but nothing would open.
Returning from my holiday I looked online and realised there was a reset button behind the battery cover.I pressed this last night and the phone worked perfectly again.
However this morning the phone was back to the same issue and now pressing that button does nothing.This is a full description of the issues;Green button works. Red button works, Return button works. Mebu button works. Handset lock button works.Camera button does not function.Volume up and down buttons do not function.Touch screen will scroll on menu and highlights apps, but upon clicking nothing opens.
So although I can press the gree button to answer a call - I can't make a call because I can't select a contact or numbers to dial.
I have bought a USB lead to see if the phone needs an update or to see if I can reset it but i've never connected a phone to my PC before so I'll have to look at it in the morning with the manual.I have personal data on the phone which I must remove if I end up sending it back - I expected to be able to use all the functions of the phone via my PC.
Lately the touch screen of my storm has been doing something pretty weird. For the past few weeks, when I try to select something on one side of the screen,it won't respond. Like that side of the screen is dead or something. Then there are times when I try to select something that's on the right, the icon on the opposite side of the screen lights up.Same thing hapens when its in landscape view.And sometimes it doesn't even respond at all. It's most problematic when I try to use the keyboard function. Letters opposite of what I want light up. I've been turning the storm around so that the letter I want to sellect is on the responsive side of the screen, and sometimes I have to tap repeatedly just to get the button I want highlighted.Used to be that it would come and go, but more recently it's been coming more often than it is going.I've already tried a battery pull, but I don't think it worked. And it's been a while since I upgraded it, but only because I lost the software and cord to connect it to the computer.What do I need to do?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I bought this used storm. Touch screen worked perfectly.But it had tons of dust under screen. so i did some research found a video on how to clean it. So I lefted the screen with a guitar clip, put a thin lint removing cloth underscreen. Got all the dust out, I was excited phone was looking Good.BUT NOW PHONE DOES NOT RESPOND TO ANY TOUCH AT ALL. I mean NONE. Anyone know what happened? What I need to replace or do now? Any suggestions or feedback would be great.

Of late, touch screen of my phone E.6 is giving trouble. It stops functioning all of a sudden. I also got it checked up/repaired from the authorised Noke Care Centre.The problem still persists.. I may add that I have also reinstalled/update software from Net, but still the problem has not been solved.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI picked up my phone as I usually do, slid open the keyboard, typed out a text message, and then attempted to press the send button with my finger. For some reason, my touch didn't register and I had to manually select the send button by using the keyboard. I thought it was a glitch, however I am not able to select anything using the touch screen with the keyboard open. For example, if I press the lock button and attempt to unlock my phone with the touchscreen while the keyboard is open, I get no response. Also, if the keyboard is open and I try to open an app or perform any function using the touch screen, I recieve no response. However, the touch screen performs perfectly fine with the keyboard close. The main reason I got the Droid 2 was because of the physical keyboard paired with the touchscreen so I would like to fix this problem as soon as possible.

Since then I replaced my battery and the phone came on with the clock and then the screen showed up. and could not do anything. Then the screen went black. Now when I try to recharge it only a green light appears and nothing else. Did I kill my battery and is the phone no longer good or it's just my screen and i can replace it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my Storm since it came out. I take great care of it, only update with official revs of the BB OS. I only have a few applications. I turned it on a few days ago and got a white screen that had a JVM error 102. Called VZ tech support and they told me I had a corrupt file in the OS and asked me to unistall and reinstall. I have done this 5 times and still I have a white screen that has reset on it. Even doing a cold boot, nothing changes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since I upgraded my Storm to OS 5 my camera won't zoom. I've tried pulling the battery - doesn't work. I tried changing the resoluation - doesn't work. I even went into Verizon and the tech told me it had nothing to do with the phone but it was actually due to the new OS upgrade. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way to fix it? I miss my zoom!!

I plan on giving the phone to my girlfriend and in the last few days the camera has become inoperative. I've done battery pulls. Remove memory card. Nothing seems to fix it. today i tried to use my camera and i got an error message. Message told me that the camera was unable to open and to close any programs that are open before i try again. The only programs that are open are the necessary ones.

1. a small, black circle, with an arrow pointed at about 7:30, and a tiny red circle. I got this, it shows an SMS pending to be read.
2. a gold-colored globe (with latitude and longitude lines, that's how I think it's a globe), with a number "1" next to it
3. A blue square with a little white squiggle, and a red circle.What are they? Other than No. 1, I haven't found them in the doc.

ive got a storm and the screen keeps going to faded out. its not the fade screen lock, tried that, also ive rebooted and updated the phones system 3 times now, each time a 30 min session so could anyone figure out what im doing wrong. also removing the sim; removing sim and media card and leaving the battery out.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a nokia 5130-c2 xm for about a year and a half but i only used it for about 11 months but the other months it went for repairs 3 times. 1st time it displayed a massage "contact service"(needed a firmware upgrade from version 6.6). 2nd & 3rd time it never wanted to boot like when windows on your pc never loaded. Now the 4th time is near, not even a month has passed since i went to collect my repaired phone. Would you say the device its self is faulty or just the firmware. I never went to sites that could send me viruses or use any other themes(custom) just wanna know if i should request a new phone since i still have 6 months of warranty left.

It would be really unfortunate if I had to replace my lump of a phone as I am a college student that just moved away from home and am in the middle of my two-year contract.My phone is still in operating order minus the faulty touchscreen, it still receives messages, emails, and even phone calls. All the side buttons work, in short, the screen is just dead.I did not drop it nor spill any liquids on it and I've performed a plethora of battery pulls. I'm at a loss!Let me describe the events that occurred before (seemingly) death of my touchscreen. I was at a friends house preparing for a 9/11 5k race when I noticed my battery was running low so I left it in a safe place to quietly run out of steam because I had no need to carry a phone during a race. At this point it was still fully functional. After the race, I check my phone to see if it was out of power yet which it was. I get home later that night and charge it only to rudely surprised by an inoperable screen. I cleaned the screen and did a few battery pulls afterwards in hopes it was only a minor problem to no avail.

I was also in a moderate car crash the day prior so perhaps that may have caused some problems? Externally, my phone is in mint condition. I suppose this just hasn't been my week!
My 9530 screen would always stay lit when I had it charging.Recently,it has been dimming to black after a couple minutes while charging.For the life of me,I can't find the setting to keep the screen on.Can someone please help?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI had a 9500 and I found sometimes when the screen turns black after 30 seconds, it could not be activated again with pressing screen or any bottom you could find on the phone. The screen looks black, but I could find back light is on, and I have software for screen image capture, these images I captured when screen failed showed me that all the functions are working, just the screen seems out of connection with the machine. I searched several times and I found it happens while using 9500, but there is no solution. It's not possible for me to return it back to carrier and I wonder if there is any technical analysis or solution on this. And another question, what would you do when typing letters on the edge of the screen?
