I have a Blackberry Storm, that won't allow me to synchronize my address book.Once I have agreed to 'processing device address book', and the synchronization is about to happen, an error prompt appears "CONNECTOR SPECIFIC ERROR".How can I synchronize my addresses from the blackberry to my windows address book without "connector specific error"? ( should I be buying a new cable?)
View 5 RepliesI just recently downloaded the BB DS6 and now my Address Book will not sync. On the Sync screen, it is grayed out and says "not installed". I never had this problem until I downloaded the new desktop software. I can't update my contacts from Outlook 2003 to my phone. Calendar, Memopad and Tasks sync fine.

Now I Install Desktop manager version 5.0.1.28 on my new PC with windows 7 64-bit and it doesn't work. It looks like it synchronize but when you look in the Calander of both PC and BB nothing changend. I'll ask Vodafone in Holland for a solution. They say that it's a software problem what is not fixed for the moment. Wait for new software. I don't believe this. (Excuses for my bath English).

View 7 Replies View RelatedEverything worked fine with my old pc - Windows Vista w/Outlook for contacts. I bought a new Windows 7 pc and now use Windows LiveMail for contacts. I was able to import my Outlook contacts into LiveMail. But when I try to synchronize my pc and BB the only synchronization options I see are Yahoo and OutlookExpress - no LiveMail option. I selected OutlookExpress and it seemed to work - the BB Desktop Manager found the right # of contacts and identified some record conflicts. It then said the synchronization was successful. But there are still many records which are only on the pc or only on the device, no new records were added. How can I resolve this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith the wealth of programming in the BB OS, it just seems anomalous that nobody has made a nice, rich and accessible business-type calendar/datebook that can sync with a desktop version so that new items can be typed in, instead of relying on the functional-but-certainly-slower onscreen method. And, so the calendar can be viewed from the desktop when appropriate.
I come from a long history of smartphones, from Kyocera through Palm, etc., and never thought to come up against this particular brick wall. So since RIM hasn't devised one, I thought I'd search the Web Store and find one, but specialized calendars seem to be the rule.Tried Google Calendar, but so far it won't sync with the RIM datebook.

i seem to be having a problem with the contacts on my phone. I cant edit any contacts, or add new contacts either as the phone does not respond at all.. I using os v5.0.0.1015 (Bundle 1656, Platform 4.2.0.442. I backed up all contacts in my address book by using blackberry desktop software and then did the "Wipe Handheld" from my phone, but still when you try to add a new contact when you dont have any contacts on the phone it does not respond (in some cases the phone freezes) and i have to remove battery and start the phone again. again if I try to add any contacts it wont let me edit or create new contacts. It is because there are no email service on my service book. Even I add or remove email in BIS account serveral time and register for host routng table and clear service book. I've never been able to obtain email service in my service book. Email I add in BIS are @three.blackberry.com and @gmail.com but both of them not work.
I call 3 Customer Care for many time already but they fail to resolve problem. They told me that they already correct service book for me. They told me that the device I have might have a problem asking me to send to service center to check. In my opinion, I didn't make sense to me. Why other service book are working fine except email serivice? Why I cannot obtain only email service? Pin messange, Messenger and Browsing are working OK.
Apparently, sometime during or after I installed the OS update on my Storm 2 (Platform 4.2.0.442, OS 5.0.0.1015), something went horribly wrong so that I started to get error messages when I try to sync my Contacts to Outlook 2007 via BB Desktop Software. After many frustrating hours troubleshooting and following recommendations from user forums, I followed the last suggestion and wiped the device clean using BBSAK and installed a fresh OS downloaded from the BB website.
I then cleaned up my Outlook address book and compressed the main Outlook mail pst file (containing the Contacts), just to get a clean Outlook Contacts file (which by the way works just fine in Outlook with about 900 contacts). I can still sync my Calendar, MemoPad and Tasks list from Outlook, but it can't even find the Address Book file for mapping any longer. When I try to map an Address Book folder in BB Desktop SW, I get: Microsoft Outlook Connector Error "One or more configured folders is not available. Update folder mapping and try again". However the "Map folder" button is gray and I can't find any place to set up the connection to the Outlook Contacts.Where do I need to go and what do I have to do to get my contacts back on my BB? Without my phone book this "Smartphone" is of not much use to me!

When I received this error I checked my contacts on my device and they were all gone! I have since spent about 6 hours doing a clean install of my desktop software and device software all of which has yielded no results. I am still receiving the same error.

When i was under the $45 plan I had the enterprise activation on my device linking it to my Microsoft Outlook email over at work. All in all, I realized I didn't really need all of the linking up, but just needed to view my emails on the go.I ended up setting up an 'Other' email account with the address from work. It works just fine, but I'm now getting two of the same email from work over and over. I have a feeling it has to do with the previous enterprise activation linking it to my work 'Desktop'.Is there a way around this without having to reset my BlackBerry?

View 5 Replies View RelatedFrom my desktop computer I use a USB cable to synchronize my Outlook contacts, calendar and tasks to my Storm2. I also have a laptop computer and use BlueTooth to synchronize it's Outlook contacts, calendar and tasks with the Storm2. The synchronization seems work fine. I wanted to access my personal email so I set it up by selecting SET UP then EMAIL SETTINGS and followed the wizard. It worked perfectly but it also created another calendar which seems to be associated to the new email address. This caused problems when trying to synchronize, my desktop was updating one calendar while the laptop was updating the other. When I deleted the email address the extra claendar was also deleted. Am I missing something, why is a second calendar created when I setup an email account?

The best i remember i hit filter and chose business & typed in a name for what i thought would be a new folder or group. i'm not sure what happened, but I can't see any of my contacts. I have switched from personl to business & back again & it says "no contacts" on both. But if I go to email & put in a letter all of my old contacts that begin with that letter show up. & my speed dials still work. I can receieve my gmail messages on my phone no problem. My gmail account login information is correct on the phone.
I've tried searching for this problem but what I find always seems to be related to enterprise configurations using an Exchange Server and the fix was for the Exchange server. That doesn't fit my scenario.
How do I remove an address that doesn't show in my address book, but comes up when I email that person at another address?

I like my E72 but I have two problems that really annoy me.
1. In the past when ever I would write a new email I would get list of suggested email addresses in the "To" field. For example, if I would was to write the letter S I would get the email address of the people in my address book whose name starts with an S (sam, Sofia etc). for some reason this feature stopped working on my phone and I can't find how to make it work again. if I want to send an email I need to manually write the email address in the "To" field. The auto suggestion feature works perfectly on my wife's phone (an E72 with the same firmware - 22.007) but on my phone it won't suggest email addresses from my contacts.
2. Another problem is that my Gmail that is synced to the phone, through the Nokia Messenger server is locked on "hide emails older than 2 weeks". Now, I have hundreds of emails stored on my phone that dates to February 1st - the day I got the Phone.
Is there a way to delete these emails automatically, without deleting them on the Gmail account itself? It makes my phone really when going through the emails.

I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years.
