i seem to be having a problem with the contacts on my phone. I cant edit any contacts, or add new contacts either as the phone does not respond at all.. I using os v5.0.0.1015 (Bundle 1656, Platform 4.2.0.442. I backed up all contacts in my address book by using blackberry desktop software and then did the "Wipe Handheld" from my phone, but still when you try to add a new contact when you dont have any contacts on the phone it does not respond (in some cases the phone freezes) and i have to remove battery and start the phone again. again if I try to add any contacts it wont let me edit or create new contacts. Sometimes I got errors after the phone froze which were: net_rim_bb_addressbook_app(207) not responding net_rim_bb_phone_app not responding

View 7 Replies View RelatedEverything worked fine with my old pc - Windows Vista w/Outlook for contacts. I bought a new Windows 7 pc and now use Windows LiveMail for contacts. I was able to import my Outlook contacts into LiveMail. But when I try to synchronize my pc and BB the only synchronization options I see are Yahoo and OutlookExpress - no LiveMail option. I selected OutlookExpress and it seemed to work - the BB Desktop Manager found the right # of contacts and identified some record conflicts. It then said the synchronization was successful. But there are still many records which are only on the pc or only on the device, no new records were added. How can I resolve this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just recently downloaded the BB DS6 and now my Address Book will not sync. On the Sync screen, it is grayed out and says "not installed". I never had this problem until I downloaded the new desktop software. I can't update my contacts from Outlook 2003 to my phone. Calendar, Memopad and Tasks sync fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedApparently, sometime during or after I installed the OS update on my Storm 2 (Platform 4.2.0.442, OS 5.0.0.1015), something went horribly wrong so that I started to get error messages when I try to sync my Contacts to Outlook 2007 via BB Desktop Software. After many frustrating hours troubleshooting and following recommendations from user forums, I followed the last suggestion and wiped the device clean using BBSAK and installed a fresh OS downloaded from the BB website.
I then cleaned up my Outlook address book and compressed the main Outlook mail pst file (containing the Contacts), just to get a clean Outlook Contacts file (which by the way works just fine in Outlook with about 900 contacts). I can still sync my Calendar, MemoPad and Tasks list from Outlook, but it can't even find the Address Book file for mapping any longer. When I try to map an Address Book folder in BB Desktop SW, I get: Microsoft Outlook Connector Error "One or more configured folders is not available. Update folder mapping and try again". However the "Map folder" button is gray and I can't find any place to set up the connection to the Outlook Contacts.Where do I need to go and what do I have to do to get my contacts back on my BB? Without my phone book this "Smartphone" is of not much use to me!
I have been syncing outlook, calendar, address book contacts, task and memos, to my blackberry storm 9550 using outlook 2007 for about 2 years. I recently ugraded outlook to 2010.I can still sync, calendar, tasks and memos, but get a "not installed" for the address book contacts.I have reinstall blackberry desktop and tried to reconfigure.I still get "not installed for the address book contacts

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Storm 2 in which I loaded another Gmail address, sometime there after I tried to sync my storm with my laptop and received an error a quarter of the way through the sync of my contacts. When I received this error I checked my contacts on my device and they were all gone! I have since spent about 6 hours doing a clean install of my desktop software and device software all of which has yielded no results. I am still receiving the same error.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a CSV file of 2800 contacts to my new (used) BB 8700c. Turns out most of the contacts were garbled. I'd like to delete them all from the BB 8700c and start over. Is there any way to do a "select all" and then delete? Or even to shade multiple contact listings, scrolling down, and then delete? So far all I can see is being able to delete one by one, which would be impossible with 2800. My desktop manager software was installed for my BB Curve 8330 (Sprint). It seems to work partially for the BB 8700c (unlocked, formerly Cingular) but is unable to recognize applications on the device, and reports that a "certificate" is missing preventing use of the Media Manager (this may be because the 8700c does not have a camera so may not handle photos).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this is mac or iPhone related...
Yesterday I noticed that my iPhone had only about 25% of my usual contacts in it. I thought I would sync it today and make sure everything copied over well. Before syncing I checked address book on my mac to find that it was completely empty.
Any idea why these would be missing? I have a backup but it is from before I got my iPhone 2 weeks ago and had my contacts carried over from my old phone I can recover the contacts, but it would be a slow and long process and I don't want to have them go missing again.
I had done a 'RSET' to clear the contacts in the address book. Now I find that I am unable to save new contacts. Is there any way to resolve this problem without having to reinstall the OS.

How can I get a new contact list to over ride an existing contact?
be aware that I have more than 2,100 well sorted contacts in a current T-Mobile 4G Slide contact list. I think that the deleting is the cleanest solution, but I'll try anything that works.
I have a curve, 8520. When I add a new contact to my address book, I find that it disappears when I remove the battery and reboot my phone or a few days later. However, older contacts that were saved on my previous phone, before I had my blackberry, do not get deleted. It is not the memory card as I tried saving a number without the memory card and the same thing happened.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems with duplicated contacts for ages, probably because I sometimes sync with mobileme and sometimes with iTunes. Some contact names have a person's name with a massive list of random email addresses and other names started popping up which were wrong. I downloaded an app called DeleteQ to remove the duplicates and now it's gone completely nuts. The wrong names are popping up all over the place when people call and text. People's details are all jumbled up.
It's got a phone number that's repeated for hundreds of email addresses. My address book on my mac has similar problems, but I think it's in a much better state than my phone, but it's hard to tell. I've tried replacing my phone contacts with my computer address book contacts, but I think that's led to more duplication. I don't intend to move to iCloud until Lion improves with a decent update, which I'm mentioning in case anyone here recommends moving to iCloud.
