So today I got an iPhone 4S from Verizon and I noticed that it was on iOS 5.1, and I know that the iOS 5.1.1 update is out and I just want to be on the latest firmware. I made the mistake of updating via my mac because I thought it would be a faster process compared to updating by my wi-fi (my wifi is not that fast anyways). But I started downloading the update around 5:40 pm today (it took about 10 mins to download the update) and once it finished, the install began. I noticed on my iTunes that the bar that says "Updating iPhone software" is nearly full! It's literally so close to the end of the bar.
On my iPhone 4S however, the bar under the Apple logo is a little over 1/2. So I went for a walk with my cousin hoping that by the time I got back, the update would be complete. No. What's bugging me is that it's been like that for almost 2 hours. It's been about 2 hours (soon to be 3) and I've seen no change on either my iTunes or my iPhone. I did load up my backup from my old iPhone 2G to my iPhone 4S before I started any of this. There was a little over 1 GB of memory used and I'm still able to use my iTunes. It's not frozen or anything. But that bar is still very very close to finishing. Is the update suppose to take this long? Or is something wrong with my phone already?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to ios5.1 my phone takes a very long time trying to connect to my email servers, check for new mail, and to update email status. After deleting emails, the Mailboxes window often takes a very long time updating status to reflect the emails as read.
This process used take no time at all, but now simply connecting to the servers after selecting the Mail icon can take 30+ seconds. Also, when it indicates the email boxes as updated, the spinning clock icon at the top status bar is still going.

So we're all probably pretty much busy with updating our Lumia Handsets with the Cyan update.I rolled back my DP to 8.0 and updated just fine, however after resetting the phone and setting it up by telling it to restore it from the backup, it gets stuck around at 25% and fails to move ahead.
I keep getting a message after a while saying that the restore process is taking unusually long and if I'd like to skip restoring instead. After waiting for approx. 30 mins once, and then doing it again and waiting for almost an hour, I've now initiated a reset on the phone a third time.
Having issues restoring from their backup? (Note: I moved to 8.0 from DP last week and then updated to 8.1 DP again and did a restore then and it had worked perfectly at the time without issues.
Just got the update for marshmallow and it has been loading for over 3 hours now, with the little android guy and blue bar. what can i do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt's been over 2 hrs. now since I got the notification on my iPhone 4S that an update from iOS 5 to 5.1 is available, and I clicked "Install." It's still "verifying update," and I can't use it to make phone calls or cancel and get back to my Home screen.

I've deleted roughly 80% of all my messages, got rid of any apps that could be slowing the phone down, restarted the phone, etc.
And still, when I go to search/add a name in the to field in SMS, it can take about 5 seconds to find it.
Im not complaining to having 100% it is just that i believe something is wrong and its not accurate or its not showing me the correct percentage...
Phone was on 40%, i plugged my charger in and turned phone off for about 10-20 mins. Turned the phone back ON and now it is on 100, i hadn't seen my phone charge that fast.
I already unplugged charger and have tried to see if i can drain battery by going to full brightness and watch youtube videos, usually with watching one or two 5 mins videos i get to 97-98% but i'm still in 100.
I am waiting on activation - how long has it been taking? Only been about 30 minutes, but I am impatient!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Curve (6 weeks) and I am having problems with the battery charge. I have already changed it once via Bell Mobility. Here is an example of what I mean. My phone was fully charged at13:00. I turned the wi-fi, the network, and the bluetooth off. I made no calls. We are now 16:30. My battery is at 70%. This does not seem normal. Can someone offer a solution other than Bell Mobility (lousy service) and Blackberry (even lousier service) Is it possible that that the replacement battery given to me by Bell was another dud?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt has come to my attention that Vodafone are charging me for a MMS text message when I am sending multiple SMS messages! I noticed on my bill a camera icon and 'long text' and queried this with Vodafone - it appears that when I sent more than one SMS at a time my BlackBerry Torch 9800 changes from SMS to MMS. Is there any way I can stop my phone doing this and instead keep it as SMS so I do not get charged?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI was using Hangouts 2.0 for SMS for a day or so, and I've noticed that it doesn't support splitting messages over 160 characters, as the stock HTC messages app (and Textra and most others) does. This is annoying, and until Google corrects this, I won't be using it.
