Since apple is coming out in a few weeks with a fix for the reception issues. Does that mean a few more weeks until JB now? Do the devices have to wait until this firmware is released so they could JB? Would they release a JB knowing there is another update due in a few weeks?
View 14 RepliesI returned my very new Nokia E72 to Nokia in November 2010 with a promise of refund as it would not function as advertised (checks only 2 email accounts out of my 8 and that is a breach of their fitness for purpose clause of the warranty) at any given time. Its almost March and still they have not sent me a refund check they had promised within 8-10 weeks. My frequent followup calls to Nokia Executive resolution / Retention department have always gone un-answered.

gambled and SEUS said a new firmware update was available for my W995, so being a fool, i backed it all up and ran the procedure.No errors, unplug and powered her on.Now its been sat at the Please Wait with full status bar for about 3hrs now. Can i just power cycle it? what is best way to do this? Will it do damage? Is my phone shot?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need help getting cell tower reception on my phone. Using China Unicom as Network Carrier. I am located in Guangzhou China (a major metropolis). The problem is not with the SIM Card itself because it has been tested and placed in other phones & it works well. Reception Bars fluctuate between 0-2 bars at most, both in and outdoors.Have noticed these problems since upgrading the phone to IOS 5.0 & now also on 5.1.1. No problem with Wi-Fi Networks. I have also tried Resetting the Network & taking out the SIM Card and putting it back in, but this has not helped.

After weeks with the update I've noticed that my wifi reception seems to be pretty spotty. I know it's not my router because all my other devices have maintained the same performance as they always have. Most of the time I get half the signal I used to but sometimes I get no signal at all until I restart.
View 13 Replies View RelatedSo today I got an iPhone 4S from Verizon and I noticed that it was on iOS 5.1, and I know that the iOS 5.1.1 update is out and I just want to be on the latest firmware. I made the mistake of updating via my mac because I thought it would be a faster process compared to updating by my wi-fi (my wifi is not that fast anyways). But I started downloading the update around 5:40 pm today (it took about 10 mins to download the update) and once it finished, the install began. I noticed on my iTunes that the bar that says "Updating iPhone software" is nearly full! It's literally so close to the end of the bar.
On my iPhone 4S however, the bar under the Apple logo is a little over 1/2. So I went for a walk with my cousin hoping that by the time I got back, the update would be complete. No. What's bugging me is that it's been like that for almost 2 hours. It's been about 2 hours (soon to be 3) and I've seen no change on either my iTunes or my iPhone. I did load up my backup from my old iPhone 2G to my iPhone 4S before I started any of this. There was a little over 1 GB of memory used and I'm still able to use my iTunes. It's not frozen or anything. But that bar is still very very close to finishing. Is the update suppose to take this long? Or is something wrong with my phone already?

I recently installed a 4 MB software update through the 'Update software' service in my phone.
I`m facing some major issues with it:
1) The reception has become really bad now! Earlier i never experienced call drops but now they are so frequent.
2) The flash remains on even if u switch it off in the still picture mode. This means when u click a pic, till the time the autofocus is running the flash will remain on.
It is very uncomfortable as everybody around u comes to know that u are taking a pic. Very embarrasing if u want to click secretly.
3) 'Flash Auto' has also become unresponsive. In the same lit room in 1 direction the flash would auto on, in another it wont.
4) The loudspeaker cracks at max volume. This wasnt the case earlier.
The sony ericsson website says sony phones cannot be downgraded. Is it true? Can i never get my original software again?

After upgrading to ios5.1 my phone takes a very long time trying to connect to my email servers, check for new mail, and to update email status. After deleting emails, the Mailboxes window often takes a very long time updating status to reflect the emails as read.
This process used take no time at all, but now simply connecting to the servers after selecting the Mail icon can take 30+ seconds. Also, when it indicates the email boxes as updated, the spinning clock icon at the top status bar is still going.
