It's been over 2 hrs. now since I got the notification on my iPhone 4S that an update from iOS 5 to 5.1 is available, and I clicked "Install." It's still "verifying update," and I can't use it to make phone calls or cancel and get back to my Home screen.

I was unable to update my iOs by just using my phone, so I plug it to my computer on itunes but the internet connection here is quite poor, so I have to wait for 4 hours to complete my 802.8mb software update download, I plugged my phone in the computer at almost 75% battery charge, so if i wait until the software was fully downloaded my phone will be plugged for almost 3 hours and will be over-charged. does an iphone 4s battery be overcharged? or is it okay to plug it in a long time even if the battery reached its 100% charging level? and does it affect my battery life?

After upgrading to ios5.1 my phone takes a very long time trying to connect to my email servers, check for new mail, and to update email status. After deleting emails, the Mailboxes window often takes a very long time updating status to reflect the emails as read.
This process used take no time at all, but now simply connecting to the servers after selecting the Mail icon can take 30+ seconds. Also, when it indicates the email boxes as updated, the spinning clock icon at the top status bar is still going.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo we're all probably pretty much busy with updating our Lumia Handsets with the Cyan update.I rolled back my DP to 8.0 and updated just fine, however after resetting the phone and setting it up by telling it to restore it from the backup, it gets stuck around at 25% and fails to move ahead.
I keep getting a message after a while saying that the restore process is taking unusually long and if I'd like to skip restoring instead. After waiting for approx. 30 mins once, and then doing it again and waiting for almost an hour, I've now initiated a reset on the phone a third time.
Having issues restoring from their backup? (Note: I moved to 8.0 from DP last week and then updated to 8.1 DP again and did a restore then and it had worked perfectly at the time without issues.
Just got the update for marshmallow and it has been loading for over 3 hours now, with the little android guy and blue bar. what can i do?

So I starting the process to upgrade my 16GB iPhone 3G last night to OS4. After a few hours I stopped it because it kept getting hung up during the backup, or so I thought. I then deleted all the video on my phone, thinking that would speed thinks up with the backup. I got my data down to less than 3GB, started the download again and went to bed.
After letting the download run all night, I checked it today only see it again appears to be stuck at around 1% of the backup process. I will let it run for another day, but are you kidding me?
How many days does it take to finish this freaking upgrade?
I have been trying to download several apps to my iphone 4s and it is taking way too long. Like more than an hour. What is wrong? I have tried rebooting it and that has not made a difference.

I have just upgraded to an iPhone 5S so I backed up to icloud then changed phones and restored from iCloud.
It has been restoring for days now and I can't back up to iCloud unitl it has finished restoring.Â

Every time I try to sync my iPhone, whether it's with the usb cable or over wifi, it gets stuck at 'step 7 of 7, waiting for items to copy'. Generally it waits there for about 15 minutes and then starts copying thousands of tracks. There's no apparant problem with the music that it's trying to copy to the phone & it's not doing it with the entire library. I know it's not a major problem, but an action that used to take a few minutes at most, has started to take up to an hour.

I have a Curve 8530 on Telus (about 7 months old). It takes anywhere from 5-15 minutes for me to receive an email. My huband (9700 on Telus) has sent me an email and we timed it to take 14 minutes. I have 2 accounts on the BB - a corporate and a hotmail account, and the timing is the same for either. I have done a battery pull, backed up my phone and updated it - nothing works.

1) I've been charging the phone for about 18 hours now and it's only gotten to 75% (My battery app has an estimate of 1 day and 2 hours to reach 100%).
2) The wifi on the phone is very slow (about 3 mbps when my internet plan has a max of 30 mbps).
For the charging problem I've tried resets, other android chargers, and hooking the charger to a reliable wall outlet but none have worked so far. For the wifi, it looks like the phone works fine with other wifi signals except my home one although my roommate's phone works at home as well.

I was running OS 5.0.0.419, and went to Options > Security > and used the Security Wipe option. I chose to wipe contacts, emails, and device data. I did not choose to wipe the media/sd card though. Only device memory was to be wiped.I see the "Erasing information... Warning: Do not pull the battery out until erasing is complete" message, but it has been going on for about 2 hours now. Should it be taking this long?
I see the hourglass spinning, then it disappears, then in a bit comes back...I read online that it normally takes about an hour to do this, but I'm going on 2 hours now and it's still isn't finished.What would happen if I removed the battery while it's in the middle of this? Having a bit of problems with my 8520.1st of all-when the battery is very low (which is everyday, as the battery is only lasting a few hours) it cuts off completely and when switched on, it takes a long long time to come on (getting white screen with hourglass. When it comes back on, it has erased all information which has been previously stored...fone numbers/messages etc.When trying to delete apps, it cuts off again.I dont know if settings are to blame or what, but it is really getting annoying!! Have lost a couple of important numbers and messages because it seems to have reset itself.

yesterday I bought the Galaxy S6 from Tmobile in store and requested to have my number ported. That was around 4:30 or so. It's been almost 20 hours and I really don't know why it's taking so long. Last night I checked the battery usage and noticed something called 'RILD' was using up 14% of my battery life. What is it? Can you get rid of it? Why was it appearing last night but today after power cycling my phone it's no longer on the list of battery uses?
In addition I noticed that it seems to be taking much longer to charge my battery now than it did before. My car charger seems to be ineffective at charging even though it appears to be working correctly. The light on the charger is lighting up and my phone's indicator is showing it as being charged. But after 30 minutes of charging it hasn't budged the battery meter one iota.
