BB Software :: Checking The 8520 Usage?

I have recently got a Blackberry curve 8520. My contract gives me 25MB blackberry usage and 1GB per month data usage. My service provider has said I can check my blackberry usage on the phone but I cannot find how to do this. I have searched the forums and see there is an application for this. However I have been advised by the technical team at my provider that once I start putting applications on I could exceed my limit so we have taken off the facebook and ubertwitter application I had put on.
what the difference between the two usage amounts are. When I go onto the browser on my phone and look at a web site it shows as blackberry usage on my call record on my internet bill but does not show the actual amount of usage. Yet when I search around for blackberry usage it appears to relate to blackberry emails. One person at the call centre says I need my bill to say internet usage for the usage to be taken from the 1GB limit the other person says it is OK to say blackberry usage.

I am going on a cruise tomorrow and purchased 20 mb of international data usage. Is there any way to check my data usage on the phone itself so I don't go over (if you go over it is $20 for 1mb).THe att rep did not know. I did a search on cb and did come up with anything recent.

I am also not able to check in on facebook places. This is a work phone and my colleague who has exactly the same Curve 8520 IS able to check in on facebook places with no problem at all. I do not believe that this is a "GPS" issue. I paired my husbands Torch 9800 to my curve via bluetooth and it now allows me to set location setting to the ON position but still am not able to check in.

I recently just purchased a blackberry curve 8520 with Fido. My phone is connected to my wifi at home, but I want to make sure that I am strictly using wifi NOT data (because I do not have a data plan). I noticed that in a public wifi network, a red asterisk appears on the WiFi symbol on the top right hand corner of the phone. Like this :( the WiFi symbol is circled to demonstrate what I mean when I say WiFi symbol and the asterisk appeared like so)However on my home network , though it says it is connected, the asterick does not appear. As you can see it says "Fido-peanut butter" ( my router name) meaning yes, I am "connected".... BUT without the red asterisk on the wifi symbol ( with my home WiFi) Does this mean I am not properly connected? I called Fido and the CSR said she thinks it has something to do with login password in the public WiFi, but she is not certain.
The problem seems to be this: When I go to "Mobile Network Options" to turn "data services" OFF( to make sure I am only using wifi and no data), the connection fails and I get this message:When I turn it ON, I am able to connect. For "Connection Preference": what setting should I set it to if I do not want to use any data BUT WIFI? Yes, the obvious answer would be to choose "WI-Fi" only, but this means I will not be able to call/text because my mobile connection will be turned off. So, how can I verify that I am really only using wifi and not data when both the data service is ON and my wifi is "connected"?This is a checklist of what I have done:
1) HOTSPOT USER - check.
2) insterted pin provided by the phone into my dlink router (via online)
3)tried the push button setup
4)rebooted my router/modem
5)there is a checkmark beside WiFi connection:
It would seem like I am connected to Wifi, but again, to reiterate I would like to ask if WiFi is the ONLY thing I am using and not Data.

I have a Curve 8520 with Virgin Mobile. When I look at my Virgin account usage there is a (Call Type=) Blackberry Usage every 15 mins with a zero cost. What is the call being (automatically) made? Can/should I disable it? And how?
As only 60 entries are reported in my account I can only go back 2 days to review genuine calls that I have made because virtually all of the 60 entries are 'blackberry usage'.I must admit I am not familiar with the phone. I did look at Applications (with Options) in case these were the reason but there are none listed.

My husband and I both have the iPhone 3GS. My husband's phone however will count on the phones data usage 20mb over night while it is charging and on our wifi. it is counting this towards his 3g usage and not wifi. We have already had APPLE reset everything at the store. it is still doing it. so he has to turn off all cellualar data usage at night or it keeps racking up the usage even though it is on our wifi. I plug my phone in at night as well and mine is not doing this

I am a very new blackberry user & recently picked up a used unlocked and unbranded Bold 9000. I am wondering if there is a way to fin out if the PIN is still being held by the previous provider? I really want to make sure that the phone is good.
I had someone run the IMEI on the phone & it came back as clean, but did not list it's last provider (or any info for that matter) in the history. I believe from looking on the phone that it was on Rogers last. The PIN for the phone is 20D56A67, the phone is currently not on a network. Also is it common for Blackberries to be made in Hungry and say "Property of Research In Motion" on the sticker under the battery? My roomate has a curve and it doesn't say that.

I have searched and I see plenty of threads on checking eligibility online via AT&T.com but I can't seem to find on the site where to get detailed info.
For example, I log in, select the line I want to check eligibility for, then it brings me to phone selections. On the line that is eligible the phones are discounted, on the line that isn't they show full retail price. However that's NOT what I am after. I want detailed info on my upgrade status, not just to base it on if a phone is discounted.
I can't call 639 because I no longer have my iphone.
I'm already planning on using another users upgrade eligibility but I wanted specific dates and info on my upgrade status for future reference (new Iphone next year)

I will check about 1,500 songs in iTunes I like and put them on my phone. Then my daughter will "select all" then "uncheck selection" then click the songs she likes. Then my my son will do the same thing. So, now if i go back to select or unselect music I have to start from scratch. I'm sure there is an easier way for all of us to select our music than starting from scratch everytime. I thought about making a file with my music in it but then I'd still have to click and drag over 1,000 songs which would take forever.

I had enabled SD card encryption on my Galaxy S5 a few days back which went perfectly fine but as soon as I restarted my phone yesterday, the SD card went inaccessible. For the last 24 hours it is showing "encrypting SD card" and "checking for errors" messages in the notification. It's a Kingston 32 GB class 4 card and has important data that I'd like to get access back to. I can't even use it in another device now to copy data because I have encrypted it. Formatting it would mean I loose all my data.

I have never had a smart phone of any kind but told a friend I would try to get some help for her on here re. this:
She has to check her office voicemail from her bb, (newer model, AT&T) but it's a real pain because she can't figure out how to do a pause/wait, thus entering the code automatically. She's not very technical, but I said there had to be a way to do that with the push of a button rather than the way she is having to do it now (holding down on multiple keys, apparently).

whether Apple will ever give the spell checking programm in iOS any updates? I am using the German version of iOS and the spell checking of iOS is an offence any for of intelligent life. Even the T9 software in the 1990 was able to LEARN user spelled words and to save them for further use. The iOS spellchecking doesn't seem to have this feature. Words I use regularly in SMS or Mails.... the iPhone just won't save and every time again i have this autocorrection recommendation which is automatically accepted when pressing space or komma .....Wrinting was thus easier on a Nokia phone in the 90...

My iPhone 5 is stuck on Checking for Mail. The other features of mail are working properly on my iPhone. All features of mail are working properly on my iPad Mini and on my MacBook Pro, also, so it appears that the malfunction is isolated to just this one issue and only on one device. I have tried restarting and resetting my iPhone to no avail. Â

I just bought my Blackberry Curve 8520 3 weeks ago. I'm just wondering why I can't use Facebook Places. My cousin has also the same unit but she can use it. I go to Settings then Options then Advance Options and I can only find Location Settings. I have paired my phone to same Blackberry 8520. Location Services is ON. Location Data is ENABLED. And one thing more, I cannot received files through bluetooth.

It looks like my iphone 4 checks email every 15 min or so even though everything is turned off? The Fetch is set Manually. Under "Advanced" it says If Manual is selected, this account will only check for updates when the application is in use.
But I made sure the Mail is not running on the background, how come it still checks mail?

I dropped my phone once or twice: whether this is the reason or not, now when I plug the phone charger in, every time I take it out it tells me there is something wrong with the disk.I finally reinstalled Blackberry manager on my MAC, and when I try to start working with the Blackberry it appears that it wants to reformat my disk; That is something I definitely DO NOT want to do since I have thousands of contacts on there.What can I do? PS I have a new Blackberry that i want to move this data to, but it is looking like it will be impossible. The last time I tried to sync or download with software on my MAC it killed my hard drive. And of course I was never able to do so. I use Entourage
