BB Software :: 9800 - Only Songs From Desktop Permitted In Playlist
Mar 22, 2011
Here's my details:
Torch 9800
Desktop Software for Mac 10.6.6
Everything worked fine before I started using Desktop Software to sync my music. I can add any songs on my BB to any existing / new playlist. Ever since I use Desktop Manager to sync my music, if I want to add my new music that i bought from Amazon MP3, I keep getting error messages: "This song is not in your desktop music. Only songs from your desktop are permitted in this playlist". Yes I have copied the songs to my iTunes. I also noticed the sync is also syncing one way "Computer => Phone", not a 2-way sync.
Why do only a small number of songs in my iTunes playlist appear on the playlist on my iPhone after I sync? For example, in iTunes my playlist has 50 songs, but on my iPhone the playlist has 17 songs.
I cannot remove songs that I do not want there anymore when in a playlist there is only an option to delete but when I do this it wipes the song completely off my phone?
I'll add 2 of the same song to a playlist and don't notice it until it's inconvenient to remove one of the copies(ie driving a car or riding my bike)...is there a way to alphabetize the playlist (or any other way to keep this from happening)?
I've made some playlists in my iTunes. I've named them Remix 1, Remix 2, etc. I have the songs in a specific order in the playlist on iTunes but when I sync the playlist to my iPhone, they are in a different order. In each song in my playlist, I click on the 'info' tab and put # in the 'track number' but that doesn't help.
I have a brand new Nokia E6 which comes from Germany, however I'm unable to play any songs through a playlist. I have checked the instructions and they all suggest the same, but it seems that my phone does not have the same settings. I am able to create playlists and name them but I cannot add any songs to them - whenever I open a playlist the only songs I have are the pre-installed Nokia songs. I can play songs one by one, from the music folder.
When I try to add songs to the playlist, the phones says they add but they don't add in the stock music player. I see them pop up in Google Play though. I have tried deleting the playlists several times and the issue keeps showing up. I would like to use the stock player because the lyrics come up and I can change songs in the lock screen.
Just got the X6 on Virgin Mobile, previously having owned the 5530.Has anyone else had a problem with the Playlist DJ appication, or is it just me? Namely, the songs stop playing after a number of tracks of the 25 it would normally play. Sometimes after 2nd track, 8th track etc - random it seems.I use this extensively as my main music player and had no problems with the 5530. The tracks stop randomly, when they get to the end of the current song - never in the middle of a song. Means I'm having to take the phone out of my pocket to restart it. I've even deleted the application and re-downloaded it from the Ovi store. But normal albums play in sequence without a problem. As I'm in the 28 day cooling off period (never been on a contract before), am I allowed to return the phone for another handset, if this is a software bug?
Wher is one of the best and the most handy SE options - adding songs to playlist in audio player stright from their destination folder? I just want to add some songs which location I know. searchin for one bl**dy song between 2000 other tittles is just ridiculous. Options provided by SE vivaz pro symbian software are just useless. Its easier to remember name of folder containing 100 songs than to learn by heart 100 tittles with artists names. I got used to listening to one huge set of e.g. house shared on 10 parts but in some way vivaz pro player spreadet them on the begining , midlle and end of ALL bout 2500 songs list. Is it possible to create some software update fixing this ridiculous mistake? maby there already is sth like that?
When I start the Media Sync program on my XP machine I immediately get a pop up that says the program has encountered an error and needs to close. It is the most recent version. This problem seems to not to be affected by whether or not Media Sync is started alone or through the Desktop manager.
However, the program opens, and acts like it is running anyway. (Just ignore the pop up.) A week ago, it was seeing my iTunes library and I could use it to put music from a playlist onto my Tour. Now, however, it does not see the iTunes library/playlist. It says it my library contains no songs. Sometimes, multiple attempts to start it it, it will see them, but then I cannot click the boxes that allow me to choose the playlist to sync them to the BB.
Media Sync Version: 3.0.0.39 PC OS: Windows 7 WIndows Media Player (WMP) Version: 12.7600.16415 BB: 9000, v4.6.0.304 (Platform 4.0.0.247) I have Media Sync loaded fine. It reads my Windows Media Library just fine. When it loads the playlists/music for selection to sync, most show up as "Supported" in the Status column. However there are many that show up as "Not Found". Is there a file size limit or file name/path size limit that could be causing this? These are not DRM files. It happens to music that I have burnt from CDs and a given CD, for example, might have 13 songs on it and have only 4 of them show up as "Not Found". I'm not seeing anything like this in the forums.
I read in other forums for different devices that the volume button also advances songs. On my Torch this happens and it seems far too sensitive. Anytime I up the volume or lower I have to wait to see if it works as intended or advances the songs. Anyone seeing this also? Am I doing something wrong?
I love my BB Torch, but I'm about to take it back just because I can't get desktop manager 6 working. everytime I start it on my windows 7 computer, it crashes. I've installed it, reinstalled it, and rebooted my computer so many times in the last 2 days that I'm shocked the power button is still working ont he computer. at least desktop manager 5 worked with my blackberry bold. I tried to email RIM and ask them about the issue, but after sifting through all the crap on their web page, I finally gave up.
After the last software update I reset my sync with desktop configurations. The calendar fails to reset despite numerous tried and I desperately NEED my calendar to sync and everything else syncs BUT the calendar. what else can I try?
I have been through all the relevant BB Database information on how to deal with the inability of my phone to connect to the Desktop Software. I have reviewed previous related posts and re-installed the latest Desktop Software. All to no avail.
Has anyone successfully tethered their Torch 9800 thru Desktop Manager 6? When I connect my phone to my computer and run DM6 I no longer see the option to tether on the bottom left corner of the applications window. I previously had a Curve 8900 and tethered with no problems thru DM6 running on Windows 7. (I'm with T-Mobile and have the unlimited data plan) I just got the Torch, unlocked it and everything is working properly on T-Mobile's network, however as I mentioned when I connect the Torch to the Desktop Manager I don't see any option to tether as I previously did with the Curve 8900. I've look at the Technical Specs provided by RIM at blackberry.com and Tethered Modem is listed as a supported Feature. I've been searching these forums and haven't found any info. Does anyone else have this problem, or am I the only one who does not have this option available on DM6. For what it's worth, I also connected a Torch 9800 running on AT&T network with a 2GB data plan and still do not see this option. However if I connect my old Curve 8900 to DM6 I see the option to tether immediately upon connecting the device on the bottom left corner of the DM6's window.
I can not open the Desktop Software v6 after downloading. I get the error message: "BlackBerry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I downloaded Windows PC software. I have Windows XP with Service Pack 3. Any ideas what is causing the software not to open? I downloaded v5.0 and have no issues opening and using this earlier version.
My BlackBerry Desktop Software suddenly interrupts to communicate with my BlackBerry 9800 device. I begin to receive a massage:"BlackBerry Desktop Software cannot communicate with theconnected device"The BB9800 isn't rebooting, has full-charged battery and I havethe latest Desktop Software, but "retry" option doesn't help.I have reinstalled the Desktop Software but it doesn't help as well.I can see both device's and media-card's folders and can work with them, but cannot use any other options of theBlackBerry Desktop Software.
I am trying to view my installed apps on my Torch via the desktop software. All I have displayed is "Loading applcations from device..." My torch flashes a couple of times when I click on "View aplications" but that is all that happens. My torch does sync via the desktop without issues.
Problem: When I connect Torch with PC and start Desktop Manager, DM asks password for BB. Once the password is punched, DM takes some time to connect i.e. a PC and BB is shown on Torch screen, trying to connect to each other AND then DICONNECTS.
Actions Already Taken: I have uninstalled and reinstalled DM. I have taken out battery and reboot BB. BUT problem persists.
I have the Torch 9800 and I'm running Wndows XP with the most recent version of Desktop manager.Up until two weeks ago my phone and computer communicated beautifully, syncing, back-ups, file sharing, everything. But last week my computer and phone seemed to fail to see each other and now nothing is happening when I plug my phone in. The phone goes to the 'clock' screen as if it's plugged into a charger and doesn't display a connection issue on it's end, but the computer does not show that anything has been connected. So far I have:
1) Checked the USB connection to the comptuter 2) Tried different USB ports 3) Tried a different USB cable 4) Wiped and re-installed Desktop manager on my computer
I'm at a loss on how to get my computer and phone talking to each other again.
I am trying to connect with desktop software for my blackberry torch 9800 and it asks me password for connection. I am using same unlocking password which I use for my bb but for desktop software it shows incorrect...
I have a new Torch. The other day my phone ran out of battery and when I rebooted, my "desktop" folder with my work email was no longer on the phone. I am still recieving work emails in my "messages" folder, but the email folder is nowhere to be found. My company has reactivated my account about 5 times and I have taken out my battery at least 10 and it still does not show up.
I purchased the Torch last week. I use it for work. Due to firewall issues I had to have my IT department download the Desktop Software for me so that I could sync everything. I am on the personal plan not the Enterprise, although I still can receive emails for work.
When I did the Configure Settings to set up the syncing it let me do the Calendar and then the Address book. Yet when I got ready to run the sync the Calendar says "not installed". I was able to sync the contacts with my Outlook, but for some reason can't get the Calendar to work. I really need to have my calendar sync'd.I'm on AT&T and have had the Bold 9000 previously. I never had any problems with the Desktop Software until now.
