BB Desktop Software :: How To Reduce Amount Of Memory Allocated To Pictures?
Mar 30, 2010
My name is Ed and I'm a newbie. Please indulge the length of this first post as I have many issues. My goal is to get all my favorite music together to be played on my Storm, which I can also use to play through my home stereo system. So far ,there, the volume is erratic and there is some distortion.
I have copied CD's and downloaded MP3s and M4as to my computer. The downloads came zipped and when extracted, I put the folders in an iTunes file and deleted the artwork and was left with the zipped folders, which I put in a separate "downloaded zip files" folder.
(1)Can I delete these zips without losing my music? I installed the original Desktop Mgr with Roxio, didn't like it, uninstalled it, and reinstalled DM with no Media Mgr and downloaded iTunes for the second time. Meantime, I opened Windows Media Player to see what version I had and if I could use it with DM and it automatically retrieved my 700 songs.
(2)Are they hurting anything there being a duplicate of iTunes and if so, how do I get them out?
To the biggest problem: I also downloaded the BB Media Sync and when I used it to load my 700 songs to my phone, it did so for 650 of them (4.3GB) but then said I was out of memory so it didn't sync the last 50.The details showed me that I have about 3GB memory left on the phone but it is for pictures.I don't care if my pictures are on there or not, I want to be able to load 8GB of MUSIC.I used help and it said to go into DM, choose options, and reduce the memory allocated to something else, (like pictures).I did so and there was no way to do that. I tried clicking on everything and never saw any way to do what help said.
(3) How do I get DM to allocate all my 8GB available memory to music? I know I can buy a 16GB chip, but I'm afraid it's going to allocate 12GB of it to pictures. Also, and finally, it is showing 700 songs on the sync screen, but it's shaded. When I want to add, say, 10 more songs, how do I get them through the system and ADD to my phone.Does sync automatically not duplicate?I have Windows XP SP3, 9530 through Verizon, and am about a 3 out of 10 computer knowledge wise.I am going to play golf now, which presents, although completely different, an equally challenging activity.
Is there anyway to reduce my n97 C drive without resetting because I only have 29.3 mb left after I installed Microsoft Silver light. Also I have Qt installed which is 6mb -does anyone have Qt installed?-thanks, i thought n97 will have more memory space after installing firmware v22
how can I change the amount of memory reserved just for applications? I remember when I had a curve I could do so, but now on my Torch 9860, I can't find a way.
On initial bootup, after unintalling some apps, I now have 22 MB. Is this a reasonable amount to have a Curve 8330 running 5.0.0.438? I have been told OS 5.0 is really too much for the Curve to handle, so want to make it more manageable, as I don't want to go back to 4.5.According to BlackBerry.com, the 8330 has 96 MB RAM. If I'm coming up with 22 MB at initial bootup, that means 5.0 is using 74 MB. Is that normal?
I was wondering if there is anyway to increase the alloted amount of memory for apps? It says I hav 35 mb left for apps but says I have about 856 mb left ot memory left on phone.
When I enter the Running Services subsection in the default Android Settings menu (in the Applications section), it shows me the amount of used up and free RAM memory in the bottom of the screen. In my case, it reads: 181MB used | 360 MB freehe HTC Desire S specification says it has 768MB RAM so it appears that 227MB of RAM is missing. Is this normal, and does something else use this RAM, and it's notshown on this screen?I am new to the Android platform, so bear with me. By the way, this is not a major concern (for now) the phone functions properly
I just noticed this on my phone last night and I can't figure it out. My phone has 16 GB of internal memory but when I go to Settings and then Storage, my phone is reporting that my memory is totally consumed and app are using over 20 GB of memory. If I use the "MY Files" app that comes installed on the phone, it show device storage as 10.43/16.00 GB. I don't get any errors when installing new apps or updating old ones.
I have cleaned app cache with 360, cleaned system cache in recovery mode, performed a battery pull and gone to the settings app and cleared data with no result.
BB desktop Software 6.0 uses an enormous amount of memory space. Not connected to my BB9000 the process Rim.desktop.exe + Rim.desktop.AutoUpdate.exe are already using some 190.000 kB. When connceted to the device this figure rises to over 200.000 for the two processes. Is this normal? It really slows down my desktop. What can I do? If nothing can be done about it, can I downgrade to the previous version? How?
I don't like how my only way of finding help from apple is talking to a bunch of random ppl just like me. The area called "other" on my phones' memory (on the device summary in iTunes) keeps getting larger. what is in this area and how do I erase it?
Trying to transfer pictures from device to desktop pictures but not connecting.seems i was able to back up.downloaded new software to desktop while BB was connected vis USA to computer.
how to reduce "other" in itunes memory on iphone? The amount of memory is increasing to point i have no more memory. Most of this is in iphone "other". How do I reduce this?
when I tried to add songs to the blackberry, Finder said that the Blackberry had 97.2 MB left, I had not even come close to filling the capacity, so I found that strange. Then, I deleted some songs in the directory, nothing changed, still 97.2 MB left. Then I used the Desktop manager, according to the software I had filled 1.7 GB with something that was not music or pictures, even though those are the only two things I have ever put on the phone. So, after deleting all media, which did absolutely nothing, and syncing, and restoring to see if that would help, nothing. In another query someone had sugested formatting the card, since this has been working with and without desktop manager for so long I don't see that as being the problem. However, desktop manager for mac in general is terrible, the program freezes all the time, every single time you hit the X in the corner.
My phone came with the head-phones and charger (plug in to wall/phone), but no USB cable. Can I just buy a USB cable (i.e. -Walgreens or Best Buy?) to use to get this accomplished?
I just got my Icon yesterday and it is my first WP so it is taking some getting used to, coming from Android.
My main question at this point is the ability to automatically sync pictures to my desktop. My last phone was a Motorola Razr Maxx which automatically downloaded all photos I took to my desktop as soon as it connected to my wifi. Is there an option similar with the WP8? I have Google Drive and just set up One Drive but I would rather have it hit my wifi to copy files down locally. I know I can do it manually but I like not having to worry about it.
I have a Pearl and recently installed Desktop Manager 6.0. I do not have any media card installed on the device. When I start up Desktop Manager and try to access the pictures or other files stored on the permanent internal memory, Desktop Manager complains I have no card installed. In the previous versions, you had the choice of accessing either the internal memory or the media card, but I see no option for that in version 6.0.
I have several pictures that I want to upload to my computer from my blackberry curve 8210. I already dowload blackberry desktop manager v5.0.1 and when I clicked media..this comes up- [IMG] and then when i clicked install this pop out when i clicked launch..this pop out... Note that I do have the cable thingy that plug to the computer and it is plug to the phone.
I was wondering if anyone else ran into this difficulty ... I just updated the Blackberry Desktop Software, and thank goodness it's stopped using Roxio bloatware to transfer my photos off of my phone (Pearl 8110). Unfortunately, the new MediaSync doesn't sync with the internal memory of my phone, so it appears that my photos are stranded for the moment. I was wondering if anyone else had run into this problem, and what solution you would recommend. I looked through the technical support docs, and I don't think I found anything that fits this.
1) Do I have to find an older version of the Blackberry Desktop software, transfer the photos, then upgrade again to the newest version with Media Sync and purchase a microSD card?
2) If I purchased a microSD card and installed it, would directing the camera to store on the microSD card automatically move over the photos I've already taken?
I have a Blackberry Storm 3590 which no longer shows anything on the display;it is black.I desperately need to retrieve my photos from it.I believe they are located on the "internal" storage partition, as they are not located on the Sandisk media card that is installed. When I attempt to view / retrieve the photos from this phone via the Blackberry Desktop Software (ver. 6.0.0.40) I get the following message:"You need to turn on mass storage mode from the connected Blackberry device to use this feature. This may require you to reconnect your device."I have fully charged the battery & removed / installed the battery numerous times, but have had no luck.I was able to see the pictures the first couple of times I connected the phone to my laptop.
After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..." I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
I have an iPhone 5s gold it is ios 8.0.2. I was looking through my phone because I don't have a lot of memory on it, and I realized it is taking about 2gbs of memory, which confused me because on my recently added it only showed about 100-150 photos. anyway so I went to general->about and at photos I see I have 700 pictures stored. where are these pictures? I did research and I found out it should be in the collections part but all the 700 pictures are not there. where are these pictures?
I have connect my phone to my computer and tied to transfer some pictures that i took whn i didnt have a memory card inand i cant get them to move. I cant even transfer them to the memory card. What do i do to get them off my phone
