BB Desktop Software :: DM6 - How To Configure Sync
Aug 17, 2010
Well, as others have indicated, I can't sync either. I spent 4 hours on the phone today with a blackberry level 2 tech who could not resolve my problem.I have used the desktop manager successfully for the past 2 years. With version 6, it cannot determine an internet connection with which to configure sync.
Storm 2 9550 on Verizon Device Software 5.0.0.713 Win XP Pro SP 3 Outlook 2007 SP 2
Updated to Desktop Manager 6 today following all of the prompts. When I try to configure synchronization by clicking "Configure settings", a dialog comes up that indicates it is "Determining the root configuration name for the main system . . ." and after a few seconds another pops up that says "Intellisync - - Unknown error reported". I have tried to "Reset settings" with no change in the result.
I've been using DM6 for the last week or so and am very disappointed. It does not seem to remember the last time that I synced or backed up. The only time it remembers is the first time I synced my BB with it. Not such a big issue for syncing, but I like my BB to backup weekly...so once a week has passed after the first sync, it wants to back up every time.
DM 5.0.1 worked flawlessly, but since I am using Outlook 2010, I can't go back.Come on RIM, you can do better than this.Any suggestions on how to get DM to remember when it actually backed up or synced?
I've got a BB9700, Bold 2.At home, Outlook, it syncs happily. At work, with Lotus Notes, it crashed when "updating the devide calendar". There was no issue a few months ago doing exactly the same thing.I'm not sure if it's related, but for some stupid reason I installed Facebook and accidently got the calendar to sync with facebook. I have now removed all entries for the Facebook calendar and al the Service book for Facebook calendar, so it now doesn't appear anywhere.
Facebook is blocked by works firewall, so I therefore assumed that was the problem, hence deleting all my calendar entries associated to Facebook.I've tried syncing with both Bluetooth and the cable.
At work, we use Novell Groupwise. Calendar syncs fine, but BB Desktop Manager crashes when I sync addresses. I can load one-way from the computer to the BB, but not the other way. I may have a corrupt address, but haven't been able to get it all to work. What do I do to stop this?
I am trying to sync my BB with my desktop software. I was advised the only way i could get music on my BB was to take the memory card out the phone use an adapter to put music on then put the memory card back in BB.
Surely when i connect my BB to my laptop with the desktop software on it, i should be able to see the music and pictures that are on my phone, or should i not??
I have gone into the options menu on the screen and had a look at my memory, and it is telling me "Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is properly inserted, formatted and not corrupted".
I have also made sure that Mass Storage support is on, along with Media Card Support, but i still cant see anything.
I am using a Blackberry Torch and have the newest version of the Desktop Software (v6).When I try to setup my synchronization it gives me options for ASCII and Yahoo but not Outlook. What can I do? I have installed the software on several other laptops with their Blackberry Bold (both 9000 and 9700) and this hasnt been an issue.I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software but with no new luck.
I was told by a tele help agent at AT&T that Blackberry Desktop sync software was not able to be used if you are using Windows 7. I find this hard to believe but would really like to quit wasting time finding an answer if Blackberry does not support the new OS.I am also using Outlook 2010 with Windows 7 Premium and cannot get the Blackberry Desktop to sync with Outlook 2010 during set-up.I can't believe Blackberry didn't know a new Outlook was coming out and syncing would be one of those key tasks.
I have a Blackberry 8330 curve that was purchased in October 2008.I loaded the Desktop Manager software from the disk that came with the phone. For a long while I was able to synche my calendar on the phone along with tasks, addresses, etc to outlook. Occasionally after finishing an error box would come up the Blackberry had detected an error and did I want to report it. I closed out the box since I was done working. About a week ago I was no longer able to synch and this error box would come up immediately. I have tried removing the software and downloading the version 5.0 software, hard re-setting the phone (which almost worked). I have updated to Internet Explorer 8 but this problem occured earlier as well.Last night I was able to back-up the device and set synchronization settings after the hard reset of the phone but now I cannot do anything. Desktop Manager opens fine, connects to my blackberry fine but as soon as I hit "Synch" it pops up the error message and whether I hit debug, don't send a report or send a report it closes me out completely.
Does any one know how to configure Corporate Sync Notification for Inbox Sub-folders?
I have an exchange server where the mails are downloaded to outlook mail client, and i have created Rules and Alerts for my folders. I am able to Sync the folders in my phone but i dont notification for it.
With my wife, we got 2 BB Curve 8520 and we're now trying to sync both of them with our Outlook 2003 SP3 on XP SP3. Both do the same thing:
1/ First sync goes well, the BB calendar gets filled up, 2/ Everything syncs well during a few days, 3/ One day, the sync tells us it will delete 3000+ elements on Outlook, of course I click Reject and cancel the sync, 4/ I restart OK by synching one-dir from Outlook tp BB, 5/ A few days after, it returns to step 3 and is behaving bad again.
I can't get any durable solution, the only thing I got is a workaround that lasts only a few days.
I duly upgraded to Blackberry Desktop Software 6 when notified by automatic update check. Unfortunately, I had to downgrade back to 5.0.1 as I could not complete Organizer synchronization - I kept getting an error message saying that an unknown error had occurred. There didn't seem to be any log files I could look at to see what might be causing the problem.
following situation: - About 1150 contact entries in Outlook - About 2000 calendar entries in Outlook - Software: DTM 5.0.1 - Mailer: Outlook 2003 connected to Exchange 2003 Blackberry Device: - Connected to Desktop via USB - No e-Mail function needed! When i try to sync everything looks fine with all entries. But if i sync again directly after a sync is finished, there are about 200 calendar entries to sync. If i resync these entries, the next time they should be synced again. Seems like al loop! Everytime i try to sync these 200 entries they found by DTM again to sync. I've erased the Device Cache and the Intellisync folder on the Desktop - but the problem still appears!
I recently got the latest Desktop Software. For some reason my Outlook calendar no longer syncs with my Blackberry. When I go under Organizer in the Desktop Software, MemoPad Address Book & Tasks are all checked off and working, however, Calendar isnt checked and in brackets beside it says Not Installed. No idea why this is or how I install it to make it work again.
I did the upgrade and could not sync.Forum said to un-install the older versions. BUT every time I try to unistall 5.0.1 or 6.0 I get this error: ERROR 2738 could not access VBscript runtime for custom action.
Having downloaded the new deskup software, and made sure that it notifies me of any conflcts in sync-ing the blackberry and Outlook 2003, it now tries to delete anything new added to Outlook that it is not yet on the blackberry. It notifies me of all the conflicts but doesn't give me an option to stop it deleting all the new additions individually. So I can sync but only if I allow it to delete all new Outlook appointments.
I am running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Upgraded(?) Desktop Software to version 6.0.0.43 and now everytime I run the sync the program crashes. I get an error message that states "Blackberry Desktop Software has stopped working"... "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Of course when I click "Close program" the program closes and I get no further assistance. I tried uninstalling 6 and reinstalling 5 and now I cannot sync in that version either (it had worked correctly for a year or so since I got the phone).
I have a Blackberry Bold 9900, which I sync via version 7.1 of the Blackberry Desktop Software to my desktop PC, which is running Outlook 2010 with Microsoft Exchange 2007. The one area that does not sync is the calendar. Changes in my desktop sync to the Blackberry, but changes in the Blackberry will not sync to the desktop. I have checked the settings umpteen times and had others check them. i have removed all Cical entries on the Blackberry. I have completely re-set the Blackberry and settings.
So, I just upgraded to a new Bold 9700 w/ Desktop Mgr 5.0.1.
I understand the complications some experience with this, and have diagnosed nearly everything (firewalls, virus protection, USB connection works, full/clean uninstall of old DTM, etc, etc.).
The unit is recognized by my PC and DTM. I can successfully search and download software updates, but I continue to get this error about "Your computer must be connected to the internet to perform this operation." It's maddening!
I use a stand alone PC running XP and using Outlook 2003. I'm not on any network. Don't use BES. I transferred all data from an old 8130 to this with no problem, I just can't get the initial sync to happen.
The only remaining solutions I've read about (although don't really understand) are:
1. ensuring COMM ports 80 and/or 443 are open to the device. How exactly do I do this? Really, I have no clue what that means.
2. Finding an old version of Destop Manager (4.2 and earlier). Got a URL handy?
3. changing my bberry router configuration. This sounds drastic, but at least it's a workaround.
I upgraded my Bold 9700 and when I try to sync I get:Intellisync cannot log onto exchange server. Please check server access or provide a valid password?I tried to uninstall the new desktop 6.0 and it says there is some kind of error so it will not uninstall.I reinstalled over the 6.0 and that didn't[t work either?
I cannot sync itunes to the blackberry desktop software. it has worked in the past but just stopped working. I have tried deleting both items several times then reloading but it just shows no lists to sync. I can load the music by downloading onto the SD card but it is so annoying as it has worked, I think it may be a microsoft problem blocking but Im not sure.
When I try to sync my contacts the desktop manager reads all the contacts on the blackberry and on Outlook but when it finally comes to syncing up it says 'unable to access local folders. If your outlook profile uses a hotmail connector, you much create a local data store.' I do not use a hotmail connector so I don't know what to do to make this work.
If I add an apppointment in my BB 9900 it does appear in my desktop calendar but if I put one in the desktop calendar it automatically appears on the BB. How can I get the appointments entered on my BB to appear on the desktop?
I've upgraded to v5.0.1 blackberry desktop manager and now I cannot sync my calendar (outlook 2003) via USB cable. There is no error message - I can sync Address, Tasks, and Memos just fine, but completely ignores my calendar settings. Sync settings are correct to sync everything. I am using a BB 9700, most updated firmware.
I have done numerous google searches and found if I delete the fb service book then it should work - this has worked in the past but for some reason is not working now.I downgraded back to v5.0 blackberry desktop manager but now back to square one - can sync everything just fine, completely ignores my calendar - no error messages.
When I plug my Blackberry Curve 8330 into my desktop to charge and sync it, everything freezes and the message says "Getting status information from Outlook Calendar." And it doesn't allow me to cancel. it says it is cancelling but it never does. I have to turn the desktop off to get Blackberry to cancel. How can I fix this?
After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..." I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
I am running BlackBerry Desktop Manager 5.0.1.37 and the 'Reconcile Email Messages' option is disabled and 'Email' is not mentioned in 'Configure Sync". I have a BlackBerry non-enterprise data plan with my carrier. My computer is running XP PRO sp3 and Office 2007 is installed My question is how do I sync the sent messages from my Bold 9700 back into Outlook 2007?
