May 29, 2010I've gotten texts from several different people over the past couple days and I can open all of them but one...my friend is texting me from a Verizon phone and she is the only one from Verizon who's texts I can't open. When viewing "Messages" im getting Emails but its also displaying BBM messages too, the help files say check Filters but i dont even have that as an option when clicking Menu > Options. I just want Emails displayed in messages nothing else, SMS and MMS is together in another view, which is fine.
BB Curve 8500 :: 8520 - Crashing All The Time And Error Messages
Sep 19, 2010I've had my curve for a few months with no problems until tonight. I hadn't backed my phones info up for a couple of months so I thought I would do it earlier on today. I back everything up fine on my computer but the blackberry software crashed when it was trying to restore the info from my phone { I don't know why it was trying to restore everything cause I've never done that before.} so I tried to reinstall my backup onto my phone and it seemed to work. I switched my phone back on it was working, I tried to go onto facebook and I got "A connection cannot be established to the Facebook server." so I uninstalled the facebook app and waited for the phone to reset and reload. it took ages and about 3 battery removals to get the phone to load up to the password screen, and when it did get passed that, the phone wont let me click on my text message or email shortcut. I switched the phone off and saw a white screen with an error number of app err 523. My phone has been fine since I bought it until tonight.

Aug 16, 2012When I go into the text messages app, it only shows the current day's messages and the time that I received them. No contact name, no number. I've played around with it a bit, but cant figure out where to even begin addressing this.
I recently switched out my Curve 9350 under warranty, since the old one was overheating and draining the battery. The first one I had didn't have this issue, from the get-go it showed contact names, pictures, and broke the messages down into days, but I could scroll and view all of them. My new one has only shown my text messages in the way I described above.

Jan 30, 2010I'm currently away at college in an extended network but the whole 2 years I have been here I have never had a problem with service until this week.
My phone gets text messages and can receive calls at certain time but after a while if you try to make a call or send a text it won't go thru even though I have full bars or close to it.
Its weird I have service for like half an hour then suddently it stops. I have asked people with blackberrys who have verizon in the area and they aren't having any problems.
I have tried taking out the battery/Reset. It worked a few times but these last few days it has not solved the problem.
I already spoke to Verizon and they tried to do some troubleshooting with me.
My phone was working after I talking with Verizon but the problem keeps reoccurring.
Im in an area where I can't call 228 so even when my phone is working I cant update the software.

I cannot reply or do anything about the messages. Then I just delete the whole thing. That means I lost all msg from that friends in 6 months. Then the SMS thing works again. Jun 29, 2014I receive messages from people hours after they tell me they sent them but when I receive them it has the current time listed, as if it was just sent. It would be fantastic to know the msg was sent at 10am and now being 2:30pm, I can have a better reply. It's definitely with the phone, because I know a few of the people have the same service provider but different phones. When messages are received on my wifes phone, it shows when they were sent, not the current time. I've looked at my settings but do not see a way to change this, is there a way?

Mar 4, 2010I have recently purchased an N97 in Australia, when I have incoming calls from my contacts, most do not display names.If SIM contacts are selected, the contacts are displayed but when copied to phone and editted ie; ring tones to contact, additional details, etc and then selecting phone memory as default the contacts are not displayed to most of incoming calls.By reverting to SIM contacts as default, you lose all the additional features of the so called "smart phone".There seems to be no rhym or reason to why some contacts are displaye and most are not!
