Is there any way to text using only internet? I go up to Vermont every other weekend and I don't have cell service but I do have internet. I know that bbm works but is there any way for me to text with only wifi?

I was having trouble accessing most websites (although I could get email via the university system where I work), so I tried the wireless upgrade/update that was suggested. After I did that, I lost everything - phone, text, and Internet. My calendar is wiped out, as is my contacts. When I try to "turn on" mobile services, it does not turn on. Verizon is not even listed as my service provider. It is as if it cannot find a service provider and therefore, will not make a connection.

I have unchecked or checked everything that was normal under the old Android version. Currently using 4.1.2 android version.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIve had my bb torch for like 2 weeks and i suddenly cant call or text. ive reset the handset and checked with my network. my sim works fine in another phone and i can still use internet and bbm on the blackberry but part from that i cant use it as a normal phone. im ready to lob the thing at the wall its driving me nuts. is there any way it can be fixed with out sending it off!!

And orange customer services are near enough useless and have told me to ask here about this problem.Also sometimes the cursor moves and no text is written while typing.I have un-installed the application and re-installed it with no help and performed about 10 hand held wipes.Please can someone give me the solution to this problem before I take a hammer to this phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHaving difficulty with disappearing keyboard when trying to fill in fields like user id and password. The keyboard will appear and disappear in less than a second, making it impossible to key in any text.
At first I thought it was a hardware or screen protector issues, but having tried other applications and UC browser, I did not encounter this phantom phenomenon.
My iphone 4 suddenly died last night even though it said it had about 40% power. When I plug it in, it turns back on but will not connect to anything (no internet, and I can't call or text). As soon as I unlpug it, it turns off, and sometimes when it is plugged in it either says it has 0% or 100% charge. After about 60 seconds of being plugged in it turns off and restarts. It won't start up fully when I plug it into my computer, it just shows the Apple symbol before shutting off again. I am thinking this is a hardware issue. Is it possible that the battery is so drained (since it won't hold charge), even when it is plugged in, that it doesn't even have the power to connect to the internet or call or anything? I have had this phone for about 1.5 years.Â
Important note: I had it fixed about 2-3 weeks ago when the whole front piece of the phone was shattered when it was run over by a car, lol. Even in that state, the phone continued to vibrate when recieving calls, and when the front piece and home button were replaced everything was working except for the camera. Maybe some internal damage is just now catching up to the phone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post to this forum and i am really hoping for some help. I have a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music Phone. It is about 7 months old and has developed a really annoying and frustrating fault over the past few days - progressively no getting worse by the hour it would seem. The phone freezes after receiving a text, phone call, internet usage or just generally pressing one of the function buttons. Some times if you wait long enough it does free itself but more often than not it will end up me removing the battery to reset the handset. Nothing appears to work properly on it anymore - the battery appears to drain within hours of charge. Really fed up with it now. Carphone Warehouse and Orange are blamming each other ( no change there). Yes i can take it to a repair centre who will either do it on site ro send away. I have completed a soft reset but has made no difference. I am now tempted to do a complete hard reset once backing up my contents etc
