So I bought a second hand blackberry curve 8520 off eBay. The phone is in great condition and I just stuck my own pay as you go sim card in. I have now realised I can't get internet and would really appreciate it if somebody would tell me what to do! I can't find a straight answer anywhere on the internet. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the Curve 8520.I am a unique case of this, because with T-Mobile there is a way you can have a Blackberry without the data plan, so when I am trying to connect to the internet, it is ONLY through wi-fi.
On the home screen, the Wi-Fi Logo is lit up white, and it says the name of my network. However, when I try to access any webpage, the message comes up:"Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later. If the problem persists, please contact your service provider."It HAS worked before.
I have a problem with my dear BB 8530. Basically, I cannot connect to internet through BIS when I am in connection mode 1XEV, that means that I am inside the EVDO net. Once I make a web page address request or update twitter, the device remains 10 secs trying to get response from the net and later it switches to the 1X connection mode, and is in this mode that data access works!!!!!
My mobile company gives me a procedure to apply "provisioning" to my mobile but, despite introducing new provisioning password and check all, I have been suffering this flaw on my cell phone!!!Well, I need help! is there any diagnosis procedure to know if the problem is the cell phone or a net configuration problem?
I accidentally wipped my Blackberry Curve 8520 and since then i cannot use any of the Internet services through my data plan . I tried back up but still I receive the same message when i try using any of the Internet services .It's not even trying to connect through the operator network plus in the browser options i only have hotspot i can't find Internet browser.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWell here is the scoop I switched from my curve to a samsung instinct for a couple of days to try out the touch screen.It was a friends phone.I didn't like it, it was way to simple I like my apps and stuff on my blackberry.So I called sprint today to switch my phone back to my blackberry.I can get calls make calls, however I cannot access the internet or set up my e mail.I have resent my service books and received nothing.When I go back into my setup wizard and say setup e mail it says your device had a problem connecting to the server.When I got to like facebook it says no connection.I just want to get back on my interenet and e mail.

I can enter a www address but it just reads "loading", the little black box in the top right corner flashes then stops, disappears and nothing else happens. I end up closing it the browser down.

I went through the process of setting up the wireless but when I go to Manage Connections in the home menu I'm getting a dash (-) next to the wifi connection. It is connectiiong to my wireless network at home but when I go on the browser I get "An error occurred while fetching the reqested page". Also, when I go to Host Routing Table they're not entries. The mobile network I'm using is Digicel but I'm not on any blackberry service plan. Is it that the only way I can access my wirelss at home (or anywhere for that matter) is if I join the service plan? If that's not the case, then how do I get internet access using the wifi connection?

Having trouble with connecting to my or my works wifi. It registers both routers and displays the name across at the top of the phone and in wifi settings I have a black square with a white dash line and a green wifi symbol.
I have a Asda pay as you go sim which is fine for the calls text etc but I hearing not so good for the Internet.
I have managed to get the browser going with the Hotspot setting but I'm guessing this isn't using my home wifi as it as slow as a snail and keeps cutting out.
Without Hotspot enabled it tries to use VodaphoneLive and I get the message "unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider"
On Sunday I got a Blackberry Curve 8520 and I loveeee it, except for one problem:

I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 8520 from TMobile (US).I also had a Pearl 8100 from Fido (Canada).I got the Curve unlocked and want to use it on the Fido network instead of the Pearl. I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email.When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.

It has been stuck here all day! I called Fido earlier and asked them what to do and they told me to connect to my computer, I have done that and have tried everything and the problem still exists.

View 8 Replies View RelatedGot a Curve 8520 and since updating yesterday, the frame rate when recording video has dropped significantly meaning jerky/jumpy video. It may be worth adding that even when in video camera mode but NOT recording the feed is still jumpy. I can see the difference by watching video I recorded before the update and also by comparing to my wifes phone (exactly the same as mine) which has not had the update yet.

We had all our contacts in our blackberrys when we left the store, I was even assigning ring tones to certain people already. I downloaded blackberry for facebook later that night and all my contacts were suddenly gone. I've tried to manually put in contacts, click save, and then no contact shows up. There are no filters checked in the contacts so I know it's not that. Any other ideas?

My memo pad syncs, but not the calendar. I do not have Outlook on my computer, so Yahoo is my only choice of calendar. I spoke to Verizon tech support for 2 hours and we tried everything. I uninstalled and reinstalled Desktop manager, but that didn't help either.

My friend has the same phone and got it the same time but hers has the software v5.0 yet mine still has v4.6. I want to be able to upload the new software but for some reason I am unable to. When I try to update it it tells me I already have the latest version, yet I am the only one of my friends with this phone that does not have this new software.

When the Application Loader launches, it only provides me with the option of maintaining my OS and downgrading my OS to the older 4.6.1 version. I have previously used the exact same steps on another Curve 8520 and I had successfully upgraded the OS. After the upgrade was successful on the first phone, only did I try upgrading the second phone. Is there anything I did wrongly the second time around?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got a Black Berry Curve 8530 through Sprint at Best Buy Mobile. I had some battery life issues and they took it and replaced it brand new since I had the Best Buy insurance. On my old phone as soon as they activated it and I brought it home, I went through the setup wizard and everything, and set up my im's and e-mail account.
On the new phone they gave me, I don't know what they did when they switched my activation to this one, but I brought it home, turned it on, did the set up wizard and am quite confused. There are absolutely no pre-loaded apps like the last one. The last phone one that they replaced came with the social networking and IM apps and whatnot, but this phone has nothing. I go into the social networking and other folders, and they are all empty. I tried to go to setup, e-mail setup and all it talks about is setting up an email through the Black Berry enterprise server. There is no option to set up a personal email like Gmail, Yahoo mail or anything of that sort. I also can no longer send anything but text messages. I cant send pic messages or anything.
I have my 8530 set to lock after 5 minutes. Once the five minutes is up, it will lock (allowing me to put in my password). However, when I press and hold the A key, a message comes up on the screen saying
"Keypad is locked. Press the Mute button to unlock". so all i have to do is press the mute button, the phone isn't actually password locked.
