Without having changed any default or preference settings on my BB Curve, I suddenly now receive notification alerts when e-mails arrive and reminders for calendar events. I have chosen "silence" on the menus I receive through the sound icon, but nothing changes. How can I shut off these alerts ?

Every single member of our family was awakened at 2 am last night when their phones were beeping about a system update. ALL of our phones were in "Do Not Disturb" mode with the only exclusion list being a couple family members' phone numbers. There is no option to block system update alerts in the middle of the night. There is no slider to select/deselect that. It seems like this would be a pretty basic option.

But lately there has been no banner or alert. I've been on an application for 10 minutes, and then I check and there was a call or message from someone 5 minutes ago. And of course it never let me know.
I've checked Notification center countless times and everything is normal. I'm running iOS 7.1.1.
How do you set the notifications on a Moto X Pure to have one type of notification for text messages and a different notification for email?? So far loving the Moto X

If I put it on charge, there is no sign of charging and moreover the battery was full. How to resolve this. My iPhone 4 has suddenly shut without any notification. The battery was also full.

Today I noticed out of nowhere that my led indicator no longer works for any types of msgs. I am running Berry buzz on my 8900 so i thought maybe it was that....i uninstalled and reinstalled the app and no alerts are working still.
Of course, i initially tried a battery pull...and when i put the battery back in the led went red so i know its not burnt out or anything. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Im thinking of jumping from os .250 to the 5.0 os but im concearned about berry buzz working. Thats my most important app.
i keep getting a text message alert and icon saying i have a message unopened but when look there is nothing there i have been in all unopened files but cant find the "ghost message" anywhere i have searched all the phone gone through filters the lot , i have rebooted phone and pulled battery but keeps popping up all the time?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Twitter alerts coming to my BB.They come in as SMS Text Messages. Now because of the number of texts, I usually have my Profile set to Phone Only. Otherwise my BB would be sounding off every couple of minutes! And I don't want that happening at work.However if I get a Text from a family member or friend, I tend to miss it because I've turned off the sound for Texts!
I know I can create an Exception for Phone Calls but how can I do the same for Texts? I would like for a Tone to sound when a Text comes in from a family member or friend, not for every single Twitter Alert!!

I have a MESSAGES folder in my screen when I hit the menu button and in this folder, my missed calls, my bberry messenger (contact my contact by text), and my email is synchd.There as well as in my chosen home screen folders. I understand my email being sent there but my missed calls go to that folder only as well as some of the messenger texts as I stated. I have to hit the menu button, then open a message folder with a mixture of different types of messages and then I have to search for my missed calls and messenger texts in a mix of email. Why are missed calls going there and my messenger text?

View 3 Replies View Relatedi have a brand spanking new BlackBerry Curve 9360 that just arrived yesterday. It is great apart from this very frustrating small prob. I can not customise my message alerts for individual people in my address book. When I click on "try it" only the LED button flashes and there is no sound or vibration. I am trying to get the sound and vibrate to play as "active profile" but it just won't. I can override it and have custom volume and vibrate that plays no matter what the profile but as I sometimes like to set my main profile to vibrate or silent, it won't do.
So far, to fix it, I have tried: Wiping profile and sounds from the blackberry softwareFull factory resetCreating my own profile and using that instead of "normal" or any of the other preset onesLoads of battery pulls before and/or after any changesI have also had a few different people text me to make sure the problem isn't just the "try it" feature. It isn't. The sound that plays is always the default message sound for whatever the default profile is.
For some reason, about every other day, my bb completely stops alerting. It is set to ring, but stops ringing for phone, email, bbm, gtalk, sms everything. A battery pull seems to solve the problem temporarily, but it is getting irritating. Any ideas? Oh, and I am back on a curve, gave up my storm.

I have tried changing the ring tone by going to Contacts, selecting the contact, and changing the ringtone listed under Custom Ring Tones/Alerts for the contact. My Sound and Alert Profile is set to normal. I have also tried going to Sound and Alert Profile and clicking on Change Sounds and Alerts. From there I have selected Sounds for Contacts and tried to Add Contact Alert. After doing this my phone still rings with the ring tone for the Normal Profile. How can I ensure that the ringtone for the custom alert comes up for these contacts?

The blackberry keeps duplicating messages in the message folder as well as the text message location, which means listening to the message, then deleting the message from voice mail. View 14 Replies View RelatedWhat I like to do (and have always done with my other, non-blackberry phones) is go outside for a smoke, while listening to some music on my phone, then come back in, send some text messages and maybe make a call, then go out for another smoke, playing the music where I left off. My new bb curve 9360 can't seem to do that. Once I navigate to any other apps or anything, it resets the music player, gets rid of Now Playing and I have to start all over (I try to cycle through all my mp3s on random/shuffle). How can I even get to texting w/o stopping the music. Shouldn't there be a Home button or something (that doesn't stop the music)? I set up facebook.
