I have Twitter alerts coming to my BB.They come in as SMS Text Messages. Now because of the number of texts, I usually have my Profile set to Phone Only. Otherwise my BB would be sounding off every couple of minutes! And I don't want that happening at work.However if I get a Text from a family member or friend, I tend to miss it because I've turned off the sound for Texts!
I know I can create an Exception for Phone Calls but how can I do the same for Texts? I would like for a Tone to sound when a Text comes in from a family member or friend, not for every single Twitter Alert!!
Today I noticed out of nowhere that my led indicator no longer works for any types of msgs. I am running Berry buzz on my 8900 so i thought maybe it was that....i uninstalled and reinstalled the app and no alerts are working still.
Of course, i initially tried a battery pull...and when i put the battery back in the led went red so i know its not burnt out or anything. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Im thinking of jumping from os .250 to the 5.0 os but im concearned about berry buzz working. Thats my most important app.
I've recently updated the os on my bb. Since doing so, my sms now displayed like the bbm is displayed, which is causing me to send more texts! Is there anyway I can change the display to the standard SMS display?
I recently replaced my 8900, and I'm not exactly sure what I did wrong. Before I moved all my email accounts over to the new phone, I apparently set up my Gmail account on the phone wrong. At any rate, I keep getting my Gmail messages via SMS message. It's driving me crazy! It shows the sender as "700."
I did the most recent update for May23, 2012 and since I updated the phone I no longer am receiving sounds on alerts or incoming texts. Also when i type on the keyboard, there is no sound. My music works no problem and when I test the ring tones, they all come up on the speaker, but my phone now only vibrates when there's a new text. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I have checked all my settings, reset the phone and everything and still no sound.
I updated to the new version of O/S 2.2 last week on my defy. Right away I noticed two things that are killing me. First, I can no longer use the flashlight on my camera. Secondly, when I send texts, sometimes I get no alerts showing the person responded. Example: no sound, or flashing green light. It drives me nuts because I will text someone and await their response.. only to check my phone and see they responded an hour ago but I had gotten no alerts.
my iPhone 4s has no sound for incoming text messages or alerts. only working sound is incoming calls. I have already ck'd the settings and done a reboot. there are a lot of these inquiries on google and most of them say I need a replacement phone.Â
I have just bought an X3-02 and am missing so many text messages, not returning missed calls etc. How can I programme this *** phone so that the phone rings every x minutes when I receive a text or a missed call? I'm often in meetings at work and unless I have my phone under my nose I don't see/hear a missed message. I've tried to download "remind me" from the Ovi store, but of course it's not compatible with my phone.
My iphone 3GS has no sounds now except the phone ringer. I have toggled the mute switch back and forth and it makes no difference. When I go into settings for sounds I see at the top that it is marked silent. However I cannot find any way to switch that off and reset it back to sounds. The only thing that seems to work now is vibrate and the phone ring.
I had an 8310 and just bought an 8900 brand new off of eBay. I used the 8310's speakerphone A LOT for listening to music and loved it! I always took the back of the phone off too so that it wasn't coming through 2 little holes through the top. Is the sound quality and volume of the 8900 equal to or greater than the 8300 with its batter door off?
Just got myself a BB 8900, however it dosent seem to have any device memory, i have looked under memory in the options menu and it doesnt say anything about device memory and when i connect it to my PC i cannot find the phone on my computer unless i have a memory card pluged in,
hi. had 8900 for few months on orange uk with data plan. have been using email, internet and windows live and blackberry messenger all fine using either wi fi or mobile now all of a sudden its stop working and i cant use none. when i try to connect to internet i get a msg say this is a wi fi service please ensure your device has a wi fi connection , bb messenger wont send mgs or receive windows live jus says this service is not enabled for this handheld. ive contacted orange but they havnt helped they did say it could be a update of facebook causing problem?. have tried removing battery and restoring removed service books etc nothings fixed. can anyone help plz?
I recently purchased a blackberry 8900 and am trying to upgrade the software to the newest version (5.0 I assume). However whenever I check for updates via the blackberry site the desktop manger pops up and does not offer this upgrade. All it says it 4.6.1 (current) and the rest are downgrades, so I'm not quite sure what I need to do to get the new OS to even appear, much less download it and work.
Hello everyone, i have a serious problem with updating my OS. am currently using the 4.6v and i want to update it to v5.0 but every time i try to update it from desktop manager it seems that it cant find the files to update it, it just show the old version4.6 and i tried download the update from many websites and it still doesn't want to show it on the Desktop manager. And when i tried the application loader it says the i have the latest software and its still v4.6
I have a new icon that has popped up on my Curve. Nothing I do gets rid of it.It is up the top where my email/sms message alert icons appear. It is the twitter symbol "t" with a number 9 next to it - I pressume it is telling me I have messages, but I do not. Does anyone know what it is ? and whether I can get rid of it.I know it is not a major problem but it is just annoying me that I do not know what it is really.
I have been away for the weekend, now I'm home and although my phone says it is connected to wifi....it will only show old twitter messages from yesterday. I can access the internet so I imagine it cannot be the connection. If i try to message etc, it says I do not have a dataplan...but it has been working perfectily until now.
I deleted Twitter from my Curve because it locked up and I couldn't get in to it. Maybe I acted too hastily because mow it won't reinstall; get message :"There is an issue with the current session, please login to continue (Error ID 30702)
Ive just downloaded the Facebook & Twitter apps on my Curve 8520 but when i go in to the downloads folder and click on the F or T icon a message appears:
"You are currently on a service plan that does not support this application. If you want yo use this application, please contact your service provider to upgrade your data plan."
So does this mean i can't use my free wifi connection to access these apps? I called Orange and they told me that i need to pay so much a month to access Orange internet and then i can use these apps. I thought they were free to use.

I have a problem in connecting my device black berry 9300 3G with face book as it stop in the connecting to IBM step 3 of 4: black berry ID update , and informed me that it is checking for black berry ID update for bbm connected applications..
i have BB curve 8900 running on v5.2.0.11, i updated FB application, twiiter and BBM. After the upgrade the icons all went missing, under applications its they are there but i cant see them, i have tried unhiding but to no avail.
I've been using twitter for over a year with almost no problems on my curve 9300. I recently updated it to version3.2.0.12 and for some reason it will no longer open. The icon is there but if you press on it, it does nothing.
Ive connected my curve 8520 to my home wifi but I can't use the browser or bbm Facebook or twitter. Ive tried rebooting the modem several times and rebooting my phone and it still didn't fix d problem
