I have been away for the weekend, now I'm home and although my phone says it is connected to wifi....it will only show old twitter messages from yesterday. I can access the internet so I imagine it cannot be the connection. If i try to message etc, it says I do not have a dataplan...but it has been working perfectily until now.

It is the twitter symbol "t" with a number 9 next to it - I pressume it is telling me I have messages, but I do not. Does anyone know what it is ? and whether I can get rid of it.I know it is not a major problem but it is just annoying me that I do not know what it is really.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIve just downloaded the Facebook & Twitter apps on my Curve 8520 but when i go in to the downloads folder and click on the F or T icon a message appears:
"You are currently on a service plan that does not support this application. If you want yo use this application, please contact your service provider to upgrade your data plan."
So does this mean i can't use my free wifi connection to access these apps? I called Orange and they told me that i need to pay so much a month to access Orange internet and then i can use these apps. I thought they were free to use.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have Twitter alerts coming to my BB.They come in as SMS Text Messages. Now because of the number of texts, I usually have my Profile set to Phone Only. Otherwise my BB would be sounding off every couple of minutes! And I don't want that happening at work.However if I get a Text from a family member or friend, I tend to miss it because I've turned off the sound for Texts!
I know I can create an Exception for Phone Calls but how can I do the same for Texts? I would like for a Tone to sound when a Text comes in from a family member or friend, not for every single Twitter Alert!!
I'm still a new blackberry user and not sure what to do, I have a curve 9300 and the BBM is not working (although neither is facebook or twitter). I do have the BIS so I'm unsure why it is working, it's been almost thirty hours since i got the new blackberry, and I've tried taking the battery out for a few seconds while it was on but that didn't work either. I'm not sure what to do. It also says that my BlackBerry internet service (BIS) is not connected, (although I do pay for it). How do i get the BIS connected and the BBM working?

I am panicking! Did I just kill my phone by upgrading one of my apps? I took the battery and SIM card out for a while and nothing. My worst fear is that my phone is dead because I wanted to tweet which is ridiculous and now I'm gonna lose everything I have stored on it (pics, games, etc.).

I've been using a Curve 8520 for nearly a year now, and have absolutely no problems with it (other than the trackpad not working from time to time). A couple days ago, someone gifted me a Curve 3G 9300, so I transferred all my data over and got it started. As working on social networks is part of my job, the first thing I did is download the Facebook and Twitter apps. Problem is neither of them work. The apps tell me I need a data plan for them to work. I've seen this issue across various boards, but everyone that had it actually didn't have a data plan; I do. I put my SIM back into my 8520, and everything works fine, but when I put it in the 9300, none of the social media apps work

I also noticed that in the top right hand corner where the coverage bars are it has gprs instead of GPRS as it normally says. I've tried rebooting it at least 10 times now, nothing seems to work!

From yesterday an 'icon' appeared on my front screen - it is similar in appearance to the twitter icon but blurred, facing the opposite way and has a 1 by the side of it constantly. I have read all my twitter messages, I have carried out the security measures I can think of but that's not to say I have done everything! On my travels through the phone it would appear I did not have encryption enabled or other such settings. I've tried a battery pull which hasn't worked. The Apps I've got loaded are Twitter, Facebook, Google Maps, Bejeweled & Accuweather.
