BB Curve 8500 :: Messenger Won't Start Up
Feb 17, 2010When I click the Run blue highlighted box in Messenger to start it up, nothing happens at all. I have never managed to start up Messenger since downloading it a few days ago.Any ideas anyone? version is 50057.btw does using messenger count as data, and therefore chargeable by my phone provider?

May 4, 2010Ive had it less than a week and im getting more familiar with its features and how it operates, however, ive set up the BB instant messenger using PIN.
Now, the main problem is the sound notifications for the messenger.
In "BlackBerry Messenger Alert" I set "out of holster" to 'tone' and the volume to 'medium'. And, in:
"BlackBerry Messenger New Message" - The same.
When i recieve the INITIAL chat request, my phone makes the sound ive set. Once in the messenger chatting i still get the notification sounds.
I have tried all manner of different setting from muting, and setting 'tone' to 'none'; both in holster and out of holster.
Basically, i want my phone to notify me of the initial/new message, but NOT beep/sound during the actual conversation.

Apr 5, 2010Okay, so my brother got the new BlackBerry Storm and gave me his old BlackBerry Curve 8520 and I can't get the BlackBerry Messenger to work. I can't add contacts on it, and when people try to add me I don't get a notification. My web browser also doesn't work, even though I'm connected to a wireless internet.
Off topic, but how do I send stuff from my computer to my BB, by bluetooth, or is there a wire?
BB Curve 8500 :: 8520 BB Messenger Constantly Saying I Have Message
Jul 24, 2010I'm not onto my second BB8520 and this on T-mobile UK contract. Everything is fab, however, BB Messenger constantly displays 1 new message icon...There definitely isn't. Tried hard reset 4 times with no luck. Been like this for 4 days and it really irritating plus with the red notification light flashing all the time it can't be doing my battery much good either!
Is anyone else having the same problem? And how can I solve this? I really don't want to have to either wipe my phone or remove BBM!

Mar 23, 2010This is the third time it has happened, and ive only had this phone for 3 weeks. When i receive messages from BBM an icon comes to the homescreen to alert me. Okay, now when ive checked all, the icon still remains despite me closing all of the messages and all. why is it doing this??

Jan 7, 2012My phone underwent a security wipe after my password was put in incorrectly continuous. After the security wipe I was able to reinstall all of my apps but my blackberry messenger is no longer working. I am not receiving invitations and my invitations are not being received. I am registered on the blackberry network under my service provider in the United States but I am currently visiting in a different country and using my apps using WiFi. Jun 29, 2010I upgraded to the new version of BB (I think version 5?) two days ago.Yesterday, I couldn't find my BBM icon.Took out the battery, etc.Didn't come back (even though it was listed in the application list).I reinstalled it via the BB App World and then got my contacts through backup.Today, it's not letting me send BBMs and if someone sends me a BBM they get an X. Everything else seems to be working fine (Im' getting emails, etc).I also did a soft reset (pulled the battery out)nothing changed.
Anyone come across this issue and know how to resolve it?

Nov 24, 2011I have a Blackberry Bold 9900 and two days ago bought a Blackberry data plan (BIS) on Orange Moldova. The phone is not locked to any carrier, bought it in Europe. The problem is that the phone is connected to Orange Moldova Blackberry data plan but the messenger is not working! Internet is working via Blackberry but messenger not! I checked if the phone is locked via Options - Device - Advanced System Settings - Sim Card and typed "MEPD" and all fields are "disabled" (sim, network, network subset, service provider, corporate) wich means that the phone is not locked! Also i did the "register now" via host routing table but haven't received any confirmation message! And one more thing, when i go to "setup wizard - email accounts" the phone goes only to "enterprise activation"! Help me please to solve this problem! P.S. Repeat, i have a data plan.

Jun 13, 2012ok so here goes. as my profile states , i have an 9520 on Orange , i have BIS activated and normal data plan. for some weird reason , yahoo messenger DEDICATED APP ( the one from blackberry , or blackberry yahoo messenger how others call it) will not work. it launches , i write my user & pass , i tap on sign in and then it says "signing in as xxxxxxxxxxxx..." for a very long time after which it gives me an "Internal error" error and after i click ok on that it gives me an "Could not connect to server" error. yes , i deleted the cache , cookies , etc , yes it does work to sign in from the browser/opera and yes i did reinstall it a thousand times and yes i did asked for my service books to be resent and i replaced them.
