BB Curve 8500 :: Upgraded BB And Now BBM Not Working
Jun 29, 2010
I upgraded to the new version of BB (I think version 5?) two days ago.Yesterday, I couldn't find my BBM icon.Took out the battery, etc.Didn't come back (even though it was listed in the application list).I reinstalled it via the BB App World and then got my contacts through backup.Today, it's not letting me send BBMs and if someone sends me a BBM they get an X. Everything else seems to be working fine (Im' getting emails, etc).I also did a soft reset (pulled the battery out)nothing changed.
Anyone come across this issue and know how to resolve it?
I recently upgraded the software on my BB and I have 3 e-mail accounts that I have been using with it. For some reason it randomly selected one as the default to use when sending out messages, etc. from any application. I have changed it to the e-mail I want (Options>Advanced Options>Default Services>) however this doesn't fix my problem. I even deleted the e-mail address from my blackberry and in my calendar it still shows a default that is not what I put in the options. The wrong e-mail is still set somewhere because when I go to use Viigo it tries to send it from the e-mail address I deleted!
I upgraded my 9300 Curve to 6.0.0.448. I am very impressed with the user interface, overall it looks and performs well.. The only problem I have is when it comes to streaming videos over my WiFi connection. It will just buffer with the little circle rotating away, but never play anything at all. If I switch my connection to just 3G it will play the video just fine. Before I upgraded the OS the video streaming worked just fine with my old OS and my WiFi. What can I do to enable it once again?
I have a Curve 8520 from TMobile (US).I also had a Pearl 8100 from Fido (Canada).I got the Curve unlocked and want to use it on the Fido network instead of the Pearl. I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email. When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.
I'm new to BlackBerrys, I got a 8520 the other day, I saw the app world an thought great Download this have all these beautiful Apps. When i come to download App world it says "It doesnt have the right software"
I do not have a service plan, Is this to blame? I live in the UK, Im on Orange. My software is up to date, Can anyone help?
I'm a member of LLLI and I cannot reply to threads while on my BB. I can start a thread, but I can't reply. A message (from the BB) pops up and says I must enter a title/subject. Umm...if i'm replying to a post then there ALREADY is a title/subject. I tried typing a NEW title. I tried refreshing. I tried rebooting. NOTHING works. Is it the website or BB?
i downloaded the flower in memories theme for my blackberry. The problem i'm getting with it is when my phone receives a sms it doesnt show up automatically as it usually does. This theme is compatiable with my blackberry. What can be done to solve this?
Everytime i go to Setup->Email Setup->it says "i want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server"as i have no other option, i click next..then it asks me if i have an Enterprise Activation password.I dont have one, and i dont know how to get one.Even when i click yes, it asks for my email id and password, and an activation server address.
I just updated my phone, and found a new app on my homepage. Its called visual voice mail, and when I bring it up, it makes me download a "Self Serve". When I downloaded it, it was supposed to download it to my memory card, but I cannot find it, and this app wont work. Anybody know how to get it up and running?
I have been having problems with MMS on my iPhone 4. I just upgraded the software to 4.0.1 so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I cannot send or receive picture messages. I had a similar problem when I first got the phone but I solved it by switching "Cellular Data" ON (did not know b/c it's my first iPhone). Anyway, has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it?
I also had this problem since I upgraded my 3GS on Thursday. I did a full restore from a backup, and my internet still wasn't working. Like others, my WiFi was working though. From information I gleaned, it's either corrupt APN settings, or I think in my case (I checked and my APN settings were blank), that updating it just deleted them altogether.
On your phone tap Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network.
If it's all blank like mine, you need to find out your carriers APN settings and input them. Restart the phone, and it should work.
The phone was bought from the apple store unlocked, it's been almost 6 months. I download an upgrade that is supposed to fix bugs, and I loose the main phone function ? this product is a joke or what ? apple must be aware of this....
I just upgraded my android to v2.1. Now my phone is working really slow. Touch is very slow, camera is slow, everything is slow. Even I uninstalled all extra apps. I made a mistake that I upgraded my handset.
The contacts are deffo saved to the phone following the restore. I can do texts based on my contacts, and phone recognises numbers from incoming calls. But for some reason the contacts hotkey wont being up my contacts, which is making calling people a little difficult. I have tried setting the key to be something different and changing back to no avail.
i upgraded the software on my 9900 and now my data plan isnt working.i dont know what to do, tryied calling the network they promised to help and this is from this morning.
Been trying to sign in for a few weeks, but I keep getting told my account has been upgraded to a MotoCast ID. That's very nice and all, but I never get any e-mail from Motorola, even though I'm told my validation will be sent to my e-mail address (listed as on file). I had to create a new MotoCast ID (with a different e-mail address) in order to post to ask this question and for help, as I've requested a password reset a few times and none of them go to my e-mail.My old ID was part of the Motorola Feedback Network and contains the IMEI of my phone, and everything I'd need; this makes me think I could even have been invited into the soak test for the Bionic, but not received any e-mails (I was in at least one previous soak test). Can someone let me know how I can get my old account restored? This is kind of a big deal to me, and (by my understanding) was also a source of frustration the last time Motorola changed the way accounts worked.
Like the title states, where did docs to go go? It is not on the phone, and it is not an option when I sync my phone. Is there someplace to go to download this app again? Could someone direct me to a link or something?
So, unfortunate circumstances for a first post here. I'm afraid my WiFi chip is dead and hoping someone can help me realize it's not.I have a Curve 9300, purchased back in April with the fabulous OS 5 on it. My husband and I bought matching phones.
Historically, I've had some WiFi issues here at my house, which could be traced back to a crappy D-Link router. Devices were being "kicked off" the network when more than two were trying to use it (xBox, phone, laptop, etc) It always seemed like my phone had the most trouble staying connected here, but it would always acknowledge that the network was there (it would show up in the list of networks most of the time), and if I went to OTHER houses or public WiFi Hot Spots, I could connect without a problem. About a week ago I upgraded to OS6 (if I had paid better attention to my software update checkboxes, I wouldn't have done it, man I hate OS6) and ever since then, my Curve won't even acknowledge the EXISTENCE of my WiFi network, even after I re-entered all the network information manually. Thinking it was our (straight-from-hell) router, I bought a new Linksys model and set it up... same problem! Since then I have tried changing every setting, manually entering network data repeatedly, even connecting with the WiFi Protected Setup button, and it's just not working. My husband's Curve, meanwhile, is connecting just fine.
I recently made the mistake of upgrading my OS on my Telus BB 8350i Curve. I have had many issues with the new upgrade but the one that is driving me crazy is the battery drain since the upgrade. Previously I got almost 2 days on a full charge, and now I can't get 6 hrs. Have tried everything, battery pull, resets, took it to the Telus store, they gave me a new phone and a new battery.still no change.it must be some kind of setting or something that changed in my profile?
I was connecting my Curve to my laptop to back up my data. During this process it wanted me to upgrade my desktop program and my handheld OS. Once I was finished with the backup and the upgrades and was able to disconnect, I had to rearrange my icons. During this process I noticed that all my SMS messages were not labled with a sender but just the phone number. Noticing this I quickly checked my contacts and there was about 50 out of 250 contacts listed. I have tried to restore from the back and this resulted in even less people listed in my contacts!
I upgraded my Sprint 8330 to every single type of 5.0 upgrade, and it doesnt have any change of appearance like those i've seen in the videos.Ive wiped my whole phone, and tried that way. Made sure i deleted the vender file, but if its just because i have sprint then i completely understand
I have just upgraded my BB 8900 to OS 5.0 for the first time and inadvertently backup was not taken, i have lost all my data including huge contacts information.
I Recently got a Replacement 8900 i had 5.0 installed on that phone with no problems yesterday after getting my replacement i wiped and installed the latest 5.0 device software from vodafone. when my blackberry boots i get this always Uncaught Exception:Java.Lang.Error Uncaught Exception:ApplicationRegistry.wait for (0x37566616e5676388)timeout i also have been having this Issue if i hit the camera button phone freezes and i have to pull and if i try to access pictures ringtones or music i get the following error Error Starting Net_rim_bb_file_Explorer:Class Net.rim.device.internal.ui.image not found
My friend has the new OS5 on his blackberry and he can receive pings and e-mails while on the phone...however, I recently upgraded to the OS5 and I cannot receive pings or e-mails while im on the phone...I have the blackberry curve 8900
My old bb curve 8310 was sitting in my drawer since last september. I had upgraded to the 8900 september of 09, and I was just being noisy and pulled out the 8310 well I turned it on and it had the little 'x' in the top right corner, saying there was no service (yes my SIM was inside and placed correctly). So I took it out and put it back into my 8900 and all worked fine. But then the 8310 didn't even say 'SOS' in to top corner and there was no connections at all. I then replaced the antenna thinking that was the problem but apparently its not bc it still won't pick up a signal. Now it restarts every time I touch it.
