BB Curve 8300 :: Upgraded - Now Default Email Is Not Working
Jun 2, 2010I recently upgraded the software on my BB and I have 3 e-mail accounts that I have been using with it. For some reason it randomly selected one as the default to use when sending out messages, etc. from any application. I have changed it to the e-mail I want (Options>Advanced Options>Default Services>) however this doesn't fix my problem. I even deleted the e-mail address from my blackberry and in my calendar it still shows a default that is not what I put in the options. The wrong e-mail is still set somewhere because when I go to use Viigo it tries to send it from the e-mail address I deleted!

Jul 6, 2011So, unfortunate circumstances for a first post here. I'm afraid my WiFi chip is dead and hoping someone can help me realize it's not.I have a Curve 9300, purchased back in April with the fabulous OS 5 on it. My husband and I bought matching phones.
Historically, I've had some WiFi issues here at my house, which could be traced back to a crappy D-Link router. Devices were being "kicked off" the network when more than two were trying to use it (xBox, phone, laptop, etc) It always seemed like my phone had the most trouble staying connected here, but it would always acknowledge that the network was there (it would show up in the list of networks most of the time), and if I went to OTHER houses or public WiFi Hot Spots, I could connect without a problem. About a week ago I upgraded to OS6 (if I had paid better attention to my software update checkboxes, I wouldn't have done it, man I hate OS6) and ever since then, my Curve won't even acknowledge the EXISTENCE of my WiFi network, even after I re-entered all the network information manually. Thinking it was our (straight-from-hell) router, I bought a new Linksys model and set it up... same problem! Since then I have tried changing every setting, manually entering network data repeatedly, even connecting with the WiFi Protected Setup button, and it's just not working. My husband's Curve, meanwhile, is connecting just fine.
BB Curve :: Upgraded OS - Lost All Contacts?
Jul 15, 2011I was connecting my Curve to my laptop to back up my data. During this process it wanted me to upgrade my desktop program and my handheld OS. Once I was finished with the backup and the upgrades and was able to disconnect, I had to rearrange my icons. During this process I noticed that all my SMS messages were not labled with a sender but just the phone number. Noticing this I quickly checked my contacts and there was about 50 out of 250 contacts listed. I have tried to restore from the back and this resulted in even less people listed in my contacts!

Apr 3, 2010I recently updated to V4.5, and after the installation, I noticed that lots of things were missing, so I did a restore of my last backup. After restoring my last backup, I still notice that my memopad is missing. When I look at my list of files from the backup, it shows my memos as unavailable because they have been configured for wireless syncronization or wireless backup and are read-only. Is there a way to correct this and restore my memos and memopad?

Jun 24, 2010I reformatted my BB on Monday, and reinstalled it from backup. Before that, when I'd get an email notification, the LED would flash red and a tone would sound. Now, nothing. I have it set up correctly, and even took it to the store today to see if they could figure it out. All other sounds/notifications work fine, except for email.

Feb 9, 2010I have a curve 8300 which used to be connected to my mobile account through my former employers BES which worked perfectly. I have now left the company so have switched it from BES to BIS using the same mobile service provider. Emails are not synchronizing properly between handheld and laptop and I am told by mobile service provider that this is likely due to the 'email settings' not being set up correctly on my handheld. The problem is that most of the fields that should be appearing under options/email settings on my handheld are missing. The device software has been wiped and reinstalled but problem remains. Any ideas on why I am missing some of the fields and how I can get them?

Jul 21, 2010I have been religiously doing auto-backup on to a remote hard drive. But now I cannot seem to access any of those files at all. It keeps saying I have no administrative permission to view the files. Even when copied to my desktop, I can't use them to restore.The issue that started this all is that I switched computers. And every time I sync, the desktop program wants to add or delete about 1200 past calendar items. I have been reticent to allow the sync to continue because I did not want to lose data, but today I said, "what the hell" and let it continue. It deleted everything from BOTH the handheld and computer prior to May, when I started using the new computer. So when I try to reinstall the older backup file to retrieve the lost data, now the program won't let me access the files I saved so religiously.

Aug 30, 2010I have a BlackBerry Tour on a local CDMA carrier.They recently posted the download that allowed me to upgrade from OS 4.7 to 5.0.0.624. The upgrade appeared to go smoothly and I am back in business with OS 5. The only (BIG) issue is that I have lost the ability to tether. I used to be able to tether via bluetooth with Windows DUN using #777. Now when I attempt to connect I get:Error 678: The remove computer did not respond
I am able to connect to the phone via bluetooth and Sync via BB DM. I can also query the bluetooth modem via control panel.Any suggestions? Has my ISP finally cut off tethering? Is it an OS issue?The only option that I can see is to downgrade back to OS 4.7 unless anyone has any suggestions.

IPhone :: Lost All Contacts When I Upgraded To IOS5.1
Mar 29, 2012I upgraded my iPhone 4 from iOS4 to iOS5.1 last night while connected to iTunes. My contacts list became empty when the phone came back on.
I already tried to retrieve the contacts through the following methods:Open a recent Text Message, tap "Contact" and edit.Turn off and on icloud.Import from SIM.Reset the phone and re-sync.Restore from backup. All previous backups from iOS4 are inaccessible.I do not have the contacts list backed up on Windows/Outlook/Google/etc. I was naive to put my trust in Apple.
The contacts are not on icloud.com either.
This is utterly ridiculous. There was no warning about losing contacts. I followed the directions on iTunes and on the phone. My phone is NOT jailbroken. It's Apple hardware and Apple software, I do not see how this happened other than because of a fault on Apple's part. After months of complaints from consumers, there was no warning or fix to this problem that has been well known to Apple. I already wasted more than 4 hours trying to find a way to get the contacts list back to no avail.
Is there a way to get my contacts back or are they lost forever?

Apr 25, 2012I upgraded my ios5.0.1 to the latest ios5.1 and since the upgrade I no longer have a ring tone alert for incoming calls although they are set to a default ring tone that comes with the phone. I can go to settings-> sounds-> and slide the sounds and alert volume bar and hear the ring tone. I also lost the keyboard and lock clicks.

May 26, 2012All my contents on my iphone 4 are lost after I upgraded it to ios 5.1.1. That is includding my contacts too.
Every time I connected my iphone4 back to Itunes. It showed a pop-up menu said " Itunes was interrupted while restoring the contents of the iphone, would you like to restore this iphone again now?" but when I clicked "continue restore" button. It showed another pop-up menu said "an error occurred while restoring this iphone(-50)."

Nov 10, 2011I have a Motorola H17 headset that worked great with my Windows Phone when the OS was at 7.0.After I upgraded to the new OS 7.5, I now can't hear the phone connecting on a call.I can hear the audio say "phone 1 connected" and I can hear when I hang up.It is not on mute on the headset or the phone. No sound of the actual call comes through the headset.And after I close the headset, then I can't hear a phone call through the phone either, so I have to turn the phone off and on to get it to work again.the phone's bluetooth setting goes off and on as it should.

Jul 4, 2012I am trying to export my contacts to Outlook, but as I have 2 address books in my Curve 8900, linked to 2 different mails, the desktop manager just exports one of them.
One email account works perfectly (that is the one that exports the contacts), but the other is no longer valid, so I cannot manage it as I cannot access neither.
Is there any way to select those contacts as a block, and copy them even in the SIM or through the Desk top manager?

If I enter an email address like there is no "Send" menu, there is only "Save Draft" menu I have sent the service book several times, rebooted the BB (battery pull), still it is not helping. When I send SMS, it can access the address book. If I get an email, I can reply to email. From address book, I can click on an email id and send email.

Jan 17, 2012I got a new BB and transferred all my info from my 8320 which I'm giving to my son. Problem is I can't seem to delete the email accounts I transferred. I don't want to do a general wipe as some of the info on the phone already is useful for the new owner. I've hidden the icons for now but just want to delete them. When I go to email setup I'm not seeing the emails and all I get is an option to setup new accounts.
