When I click the Run blue highlighted box in Messenger to start it up, nothing happens at all. I have never managed to start up Messenger since downloading it a few days ago.Any ideas anyone? version is 50057.btw does using messenger count as data, and therefore chargeable by my phone provider?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIve had it less than a week and im getting more familiar with its features and how it operates, however, ive set up the BB instant messenger using PIN.
Now, the main problem is the sound notifications for the messenger.
In "BlackBerry Messenger Alert" I set "out of holster" to 'tone' and the volume to 'medium'. And, in:
"BlackBerry Messenger New Message" - The same.
When i recieve the INITIAL chat request, my phone makes the sound ive set. Once in the messenger chatting i still get the notification sounds.
I have tried all manner of different setting from muting, and setting 'tone' to 'none'; both in holster and out of holster.
Basically, i want my phone to notify me of the initial/new message, but NOT beep/sound during the actual conversation.
Im having problems with the messenger i cant accept requests and other people cant accept mine nothing is coming up to verify on the other blackberrys that i have sent one to them its nothing to do with the data plan iv been through that a tone of times can anyone help me please?

I can't add contacts on it, and when people try to add me I don't get a notification. My web browser also doesn't work, even though I'm connected to a wireless internet.
Off topic, but how do I send stuff from my computer to my BB, by bluetooth, or is there a wire?
I'm not onto my second BB8520 and this on T-mobile UK contract. Everything is fab, however, BB Messenger constantly displays 1 new message icon...There definitely isn't. Tried hard reset 4 times with no luck. Been like this for 4 days and it really irritating plus with the red notification light flashing all the time it can't be doing my battery much good either!
Is anyone else having the same problem? And how can I solve this? I really don't want to have to either wipe my phone or remove BBM!
This is the third time it has happened, and ive only had this phone for 3 weeks. When i receive messages from BBM an icon comes to the homescreen to alert me. Okay, now when ive checked all, the icon still remains despite me closing all of the messages and all. why is it doing this??

View 3 Replies View Relatedi got my BB last week ok, so, i got invited to a group, i was the 30th member, the chat and images uploaded were loading so my BB started lagging ALOT, i thought it was other thing, so i googled "how to make blackberry faster" and i found an "activate Automatic Memory Clean" thing after activating it, i locked the BB cause i always lock it, then a message popped saying something like "blackberry is rebooting and it will take a few moments" well the few moments were more like a few 10+ minutes, so i took the battery out to restart it, after that a white screen with the loading clock icon appears, then suddenly the screen goes black and red light flashes a bit, then back to the white screen with clock, and so on

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 8520 from TMobile (US).I also had a Pearl 8100 from Fido (Canada).I got the Curve unlocked and want to use it on the Fido network instead of the Pearl. I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email.When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my curve 8520 for about three weeks and whenever i get a picture message i try to retrieve it and i dont get it. it says receiving message for a while but then it just goes away, other times it will wont receive the message for a long time then after a few hours i get it. why does it do this? why cant i get the picture message right away?

It has been stuck here all day! I called Fido earlier and asked them what to do and they told me to connect to my computer, I have done that and have tried everything and the problem still exists.
I have just upgraded to the BB 8520 Curve and I cant find predictive text anywhere?Surely it must be there somewhere !
View 8 Replies View RelatedGot a Curve 8520 and since updating yesterday, the frame rate when recording video has dropped significantly meaning jerky/jumpy video. It may be worth adding that even when in video camera mode but NOT recording the feed is still jumpy. I can see the difference by watching video I recorded before the update and also by comparing to my wifes phone (exactly the same as mine) which has not had the update yet.

We had all our contacts in our blackberrys when we left the store, I was even assigning ring tones to certain people already. I downloaded blackberry for facebook later that night and all my contacts were suddenly gone. I've tried to manually put in contacts, click save, and then no contact shows up. There are no filters checked in the contacts so I know it's not that. Any other ideas?

My memo pad syncs, but not the calendar. I do not have Outlook on my computer, so Yahoo is my only choice of calendar. I spoke to Verizon tech support for 2 hours and we tried everything. I uninstalled and reinstalled Desktop manager, but that didn't help either.

My friend has the same phone and got it the same time but hers has the software v5.0 yet mine still has v4.6. I want to be able to upload the new software but for some reason I am unable to. When I try to update it it tells me I already have the latest version, yet I am the only one of my friends with this phone that does not have this new software.

When the Application Loader launches, it only provides me with the option of maintaining my OS and downgrading my OS to the older 4.6.1 version. I have previously used the exact same steps on another Curve 8520 and I had successfully upgraded the OS. After the upgrade was successful on the first phone, only did I try upgrading the second phone. Is there anything I did wrongly the second time around?
