Im having problems with the messenger i cant accept requests and other people cant accept mine nothing is coming up to verify on the other blackberrys that i have sent one to them its nothing to do with the data plan iv been through that a tone of times can anyone help me please?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recently brought a blackberry Curve 8520, one of the main reasons I brought it was because of bbm most of my friends have it and have requested me to add them, only when I click onto their pending request it does not have an accept button - but all my friends said it should. I have rebooted my phone a lot and I have reinstalled bbm at least twice. How I can sort this out?

When I click the Run blue highlighted box in Messenger to start it up, nothing happens at all. I have never managed to start up Messenger since downloading it a few days ago.Any ideas anyone? version is 50057.btw does using messenger count as data, and therefore chargeable by my phone provider?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIve had it less than a week and im getting more familiar with its features and how it operates, however, ive set up the BB instant messenger using PIN.
Now, the main problem is the sound notifications for the messenger.
In "BlackBerry Messenger Alert" I set "out of holster" to 'tone' and the volume to 'medium'. And, in:
"BlackBerry Messenger New Message" - The same.
When i recieve the INITIAL chat request, my phone makes the sound ive set. Once in the messenger chatting i still get the notification sounds.
I have tried all manner of different setting from muting, and setting 'tone' to 'none'; both in holster and out of holster.
Basically, i want my phone to notify me of the initial/new message, but NOT beep/sound during the actual conversation.
How do i upload a photo onto my details in bb messenger and why cant i see my contacts photo.s

I can't add contacts on it, and when people try to add me I don't get a notification. My web browser also doesn't work, even though I'm connected to a wireless internet.
Off topic, but how do I send stuff from my computer to my BB, by bluetooth, or is there a wire?
I'm not onto my second BB8520 and this on T-mobile UK contract. Everything is fab, however, BB Messenger constantly displays 1 new message icon...There definitely isn't. Tried hard reset 4 times with no luck. Been like this for 4 days and it really irritating plus with the red notification light flashing all the time it can't be doing my battery much good either!
Is anyone else having the same problem? And how can I solve this? I really don't want to have to either wipe my phone or remove BBM!
This is the third time it has happened, and ive only had this phone for 3 weeks. When i receive messages from BBM an icon comes to the homescreen to alert me. Okay, now when ive checked all, the icon still remains despite me closing all of the messages and all. why is it doing this??

I upgraded it to 5.0.0.57 and all I get is the Blackberry Messenger License Agreement and it will not allow me to click on either button, ``I Accept``or ``Ì Do Not Accept`` .Is there something I`m missing or what.... My blackberry curve 9300 will let me go on the bbm app but will not let me get friends ! When I send my friends a request by typing there pin they do not get it , but it comes up 'Pending' beside there pin and when they send a request to me I don't get it and it comes up 'Pending' on there screen beside my pin , it is definitely not there bbm because they have got lots of other friends on bbm !

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy PIN seems to have got out into the public domain and I have received 20+ PIN requests today from users who I do not know and have no intention of accepting. Some I have deleted, others I have ignored, but they are still coming through. I haven't published my PIN in any public forum (facebook for example) and only actually have about 12 BB messenger contacts so have no idea why this has happened. One has got through and I cannot delete the contact from my list (I have the pin so will happily provide it as I have no idea who it is) The names of the users seem to be odd characters and graphics. block new PIN requests (I have tried via the firewall but it hasn't stopped it) and how to delete the mysterious contact (as I write this a request has come through!)

When I hooked up my phone it asked for my password which I entered only it hasn't accepted it. I'm now down to my final go and don't really want to end up wiping my phone, I know I probably should have stopped trying sooner but I was frustrated.
It appears that the desktop software has changed my password, is there some sort of default it would have changed it to or am I destined to lose all the data on my phone?
I got my bbm on the 25th, and i gave a few friends my pin, but they're invite wont come through? or if i send them an invite it just says pending autorisation and they dont receive my invite?
