ive just put a memory card into my 8520 and it saying it needs formatting but yesterday it was working fine so i just put another memory card in and my phone wont read both of them and saying 1 of them has no size on the card but when i try to read my files it saying the card is empty me recover all of my files please ive not done anything to them like formatted or

ı usually plug my usb in n listen to music on my phone via my pc, for some reason everything has disappeared from my phone but when ı switch my memory card with another phone then all my data comes up, ı tried using a different memory card which worked for a day then the same thing happened to that memory card once ı put in into this blackberry.

So I'm unable to transfer all my media data from my BB to my laptop. However, I still can back up my BB contact, update my BB OS and make changes to my BB using the BB Desktop Manager.

I double checked to be sure the adaptor wasn't locked and even tried with another memory card and it was fine with the other card.My 8gb card is new and i formatted it as i put it in my bb. I did not know my media files were saved on my SD card. I thought they were saved on my device.
In the options, under Memory, it says Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card has been formatted.
First I took the memory SD mini card 8G out and put it back in.
Still same message.
So then I went to Format and formatted it...as it asked me to do.
Error message came up. Saying Format Failed.
However all my files are gone.
I am so mad that my blackberry told me to ensure it was formatted. Everything is gone off my BB.
Is there a way to recover this data?
I haven't backed up my BB before.
I've had my Blackberry Torch for a few months and it used to flash "Media Card Inserted/Removed" constantly (alternating between the two) untill I would just take it out and give up. Now it has got to the point where it won't read any memory cards at all. I recently posted about this and was told to format the card in my PC then in my phone, which worked great for a few hours then it flashed "Media Card Removed" and was not recognised at all after that. Now when I repeat the format procedure (in PC then in phone) it recognises it for about 10 seconds then says its removed. The media card slot doesn't appear to be damaged or loose.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Sony Ericsson W595, on Vodafone can not read my memory card. It was working properly until last night when I clicked on Media & Photos, and I was told I had no pictures. I went to file manager and onto the memory card files and it said 'no files'. Does anybody know how to fix this or what is wrong with it? My phone memory is still normal and everything else functions properly, except for my memory card. I updated it and I even checked if its placed in properly but nothing seems to help. My memory card is a San Disk M2 with 2GB Memory storage.

I took it to shop which fix phones, So it reinstalled my 10V OS (I had installed it by my self) into 9.40V it is quite better, but phone lags a lot, restarts it self, memory card isn't working well too. my PC can't read it any more. When I plug it into the card reader, it is detected, but always with a message like "The disk in drive H: is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?". The card seems to work fine in the phone, all the data is available. I didn't used to have this issue before, but I wouldn't be able to tell you off hand when I last used the card via card reader.
So my first guess was that some recent firmware upgrade may have changed the filesystem on the mem card. I downloaded the ext2/3 drivers from ext2fsd.com , but that didn't help either. I haven't yet had a chance to connect the phone via USB directly and explore the card that way, but it usually takes quite long to transfer files that way. So what can I try to get Windows to read the card? Is it a filesystem issue? Has anybody seen this before?I am running Android 4.0.3 on Samsung firmware (I9100DXLPA).

My address book takes up quite a bit of memory; so does my calendar -- both of which were synced from Outlook. Is there any way to have the addresses/calendar data stored onto my microSD instead of the device memory?
Lastly, I noticed that when I call people using my Curve, it shows up on their caller ID as "private name, private number." Where can I change this setting? Is it in my provider's settings (which I can access online) or on the BlackBerry's settings somewhere? Also, is it possible to at least NOT have it show private when calling those on my address book, such as friends & relatives?
my 8520 curve won't read it's SD card? i know it's definitely not the card as my wife just got a new BB also and it came with a brand new card that can't be read either. Thought i could live with it. but can't. You can't have any music, video content etc. My first blackberry died in a pint of guiness (don't ask), i took the sd card out before the insurance claim and had my fingers crossed that it would have survived the black death, but when my new replacement BB came it couldn't read the card. which i thought was down to the black stuff - initially.However since then i've tried different cards leaving me to believe i may still have the data on the original and that the phone or card reader is cream-crackered?

But when I coonect it to computer Desktop software is only giving me the option of device memory for media storage. Which is saying that I don't have the room to save any files. I added a 128Gb class 10 PNY SD card and it mounted perfectly, copied over about 40Gb of data and all was well.
A while later a message popped up on the screen "SD card removed unexpectedly. It can be damaged. Always unmount SD card before removing it."
I am unable to access the SD card via the phone in any manner, if I remove the card and put it in a USB micro-SD adapter and plug it into my laptop it mounts just fine and I can access all of the data. I have run Windows check disk against the SD card an no issues were found. The phone is still unable to mount/read the card.
I went as far as to remove the partition from the SD card and reinstalled it back in the phone, it was then detected and the phone auto-formatted it, and then I was able to copy my data back onto the device... and about 10 minutes later the same error popped up "SD card unexpectedly..."
I have a second identical SD card, I tried using it and the same exact problem happened.
HOW CAN ICHECK THE MEMORY STATUS FOR BOTH THE PHONE MEMORY AND THE MEMORY CARD AND CAN I CHOOSE THE MEMORY CARD AS MY PRIMARY MEANS OF STORAGE ESPECIALLY FOR MUSIC AND PHOTOS.
