BB Curve :: Address Book RSET Has Wiped All Contacts?
Jul 19, 2011I'm on an 8520 Curve running v5.0.0.681.I recently added an e mail account for my wife. In adding it, I allowed her contacts to be synched in. After deleting the e mail account, her contact list stayed (all1700 of them) swamping my contacts.I read on these forums that using RSET in Address Book Options would remove the list. It did but also removed all my contacts. There is no back up on a PC or on my SIM. I can't even add contacts manually as they refuse to save. how to get my contacts back or at least to allow them to be re-input manually?

Sep 2, 2012My daughter forgot her password (repeatedly) and the handset has now been wiped. It's a Curve 8520 and I've looked on-line for a way to re-install but it's not working. I've downloaded the BB desktop software and the OS but when I plugged the handset in via USB it's not recognised by anything. Is there anyway to do anything to it at home or will I have to 'bite the bullet' and take it somewhere to be repaired? Also if so where would I take it?

Oct 13, 2011Back in July I brought my girlfriend her first Blackberry, a Curve 8520. With this set-up she has a password lock for the screen, which works fine and she knows exactly what she's doing with. Then about four weeks down the line she tells me she woke up one morning, typed in her password but was told it was wrong and she had 9 attempts left. After looking more closely at it, it was actually asking for a device password - which neither my girlfriend nor me has ever set up on the Blackberry.After doing some research the first time, we tried everything - connecting it to device manager, inputting letters instead of numbers, etc. but eventually had to wipe the phone.So then after setting the phone up for a second time straight after, this morning she tells me the same thing has happened again and she's had to wipe her phone.

Jul 26, 2010I bought a Sprint 8330 from a guy on Craigslist, and it worked fine until my girlfriend freaking wiped my phone trying to guess my password. So I got on crackberry and followed the instructions from Lecture 12 of the BB 101 and got it up and running again. Or so I thought.. Now, I have no browser icon whatsoever, and all of my MMS options are gone. I believe the phone had OS4.3 before because now all of my home screen stuff looks different along with my inbox. I just wanna have my MMS and Internet back. Should I go back to 4.3? Or is this something really easy that I just don't know because I'm a first time BB user? Help pls?
Also! I had the phone flashed over to work with Cricket Mobile. I doubt that has anything to do with it though considering my MMS and internet still worked then.

Aug 5, 2015Was on my way to work today, listeting to music with the phone (fully charged) in my pocket.The music stops playing and when I look at the phone, it's just rebooting. When the phone starts again, I see the factory reset home screen. It is all wiped, no contacts, photos etc etc.Could this be some sort of bug in the phone? Or could someone have wiped it remotely without my permission?

Jan 26, 2010my name is Lisa and I have a bold 9000 I was recently trying to sync my phone to my computer by using the desktop manager... It prompted me for the blackberry password on my computer. I entered my CORRECT!!! Password numerous times until it said one last attempt or all memory will be erase.. Being that the CORRECT password was not working I went to the password options on my bold and disabled the password.. As I attempted this a prompt showed up and said type in "blackberry" so I did then it said type in password, I typed in the correct password once again then it started wiping my phone.This is extremely frustrating I have... Well had =[... A lot of stuff on my phone and now it is all gone! And to top it all off it will not start up again, it says "reload software:513"I don't understand why this happened and I found several other people on online forums who have had the same problem with no solution.Please help! Is my phone completely wiped out for good?

Oct 9, 2012I have one calendar that was installed on the Blackberry when purchased. I uploaded an update of the Facebook App, now all of my entries are gone in the calendar that were in sync with my gmail address. I have the 8350 model and prior to this all calendar entries were saved to my email for gmail- this gmail option has disappeared in the CICAL drop down the only option available is Facebook. I tried to uninstall the Facebook App however that leaves no option for Default Service for the calendar, so the option for default service for my calendar is completely removed.How can I go back to the original settings for my calendar and is it possible to retrieve prior/future entries from the now blank calendar?

Jan 25, 2010Well, I've been running 5.0 OS's for months, and I'm not sure exactly when this problem happened, but my video camera stopped recording sound. Speaker phone and the voice notes recorder work fine.
I wiped the phone, formatted the SD card, and went back to the 4.7.1.65 os.I've still got no sound. Is there actually a different mic for the video camera than the speaker phone and the voice notes recorder?I've pulled the files onto my computer to verify that there is absolutely no sound.
