I forgot my password I typed it in three times wrong and then a few minutes after that by itself all the memory had been wiped out. The problem was I needed my contacts and I had very very valuble photos on there that I can't have back now I also bought stacks of ring tones and now they are gone too so I wasted money. Please can anyone tell me how to get my memory back?

Over the weekend my Bold 9700 was stolen and I did not have it protected with a code. So now that all my contacts and such are out there I'm hoping there is a way I can get the memory wiped. AT&T has deactivated the sim card but I'm hoping there is away that the memory can be wiped remotely? I had google mail setup on it and have read there may be a way to do it though it.

I've downloaded the BB desktop software and the OS but when I plugged the handset in via USB it's not recognised by anything. Is there anyway to do anything to it at home or will I have to 'bite the bullet' and take it somewhere to be repaired? Also if so where would I take it?

WIPING...He lost everything, all his settings, contacts, everything.I phoned O2 whose helpdesk had just shut, who said they knew nothing about any activities going to happen, but my son got lots of random emails and messages from his friends saying it was going to happen. Because they were from his friends, and because they get a lot of spam and stuff and we hadn't had any official notification of anything happening I told him to ignore it until we got an official message whch we didn't.I have just re-enabled Mobile Services and got him connected again - but I'd like to know what happened and why.
View 6 Replies View RelatedOk, media card was working fine, had alot of work pictures stored on it and was becoming a hassle to hunt through all of them to find what I wanted. So, I inserted media card in computer and transfered what I wanted to a folder on the computer. Then I formatted the card using the computer. When I put the card back into the phone, the phone knows its there, but I must have wiped the card completely as none of the folders for video, pics, etc. are on it anymore. If I take a picture and go to find it, the media card does not even show up, just device memory.
Does anybody have a remedy for this? I already tried formatting the card in the phone but that didn't work. The phone is telling me in the memory options that 1.8GB is free, so I know it works, it just lost the folders or whatever........
I have one calendar that was installed on the Blackberry when purchased. I uploaded an update of the Facebook App, now all of my entries are gone in the calendar that were in sync with my gmail address. I have the 8350 model and prior to this all calendar entries were saved to my email for gmail- this gmail option has disappeared in the CICAL drop down the only option available is Facebook. I tried to uninstall the Facebook App however that leaves no option for Default Service for the calendar, so the option for default service for my calendar is completely removed.How can I go back to the original settings for my calendar and is it possible to retrieve prior/future entries from the now blank calendar?

With this set-up she has a password lock for the screen, which works fine and she knows exactly what she's doing with. Then about four weeks down the line she tells me she woke up one morning, typed in her password but was told it was wrong and she had 9 attempts left. After looking more closely at it, it was actually asking for a device password - which neither my girlfriend nor me has ever set up on the Blackberry.After doing some research the first time, we tried everything - connecting it to device manager, inputting letters instead of numbers, etc. but eventually had to wipe the phone.So then after setting the phone up for a second time straight after, this morning she tells me the same thing has happened again and she's had to wipe her phone.

After deleting the e mail account, her contact list stayed (all1700 of them) swamping my contacts.I read on these forums that using RSET in Address Book Options would remove the list. It did but also removed all my contacts. There is no back up on a PC or on my SIM. I can't even add contacts manually as they refuse to save. how to get my contacts back or at least to allow them to be re-input manually?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought a Sprint 8330 from a guy on Craigslist, and it worked fine until my girlfriend freaking wiped my phone trying to guess my password. So I got on crackberry and followed the instructions from Lecture 12 of the BB 101 and got it up and running again. Or so I thought.. Now, I have no browser icon whatsoever, and all of my MMS options are gone. I believe the phone had OS4.3 before because now all of my home screen stuff looks different along with my inbox. I just wanna have my MMS and Internet back. Should I go back to 4.3? Or is this something really easy that I just don't know because I'm a first time BB user? Help pls?
Also! I had the phone flashed over to work with Cricket Mobile. I doubt that has anything to do with it though considering my MMS and internet still worked then.

I didn't notice that it started to proceed to wipe the phone! How/can I restore my data and contacts? I don't use BB Desktop Software much so I don't have a backup. Anyone know what this is, if I can delete it, & what would happen if I did? Is there any way to shrink this down some?
My address book takes up quite a bit of memory; so does my calendar -- both of which were synced from Outlook. Is there any way to have the addresses/calendar data stored onto my microSD instead of the device memory?
Lastly, I noticed that when I call people using my Curve, it shows up on their caller ID as "private name, private number." Where can I change this setting? Is it in my provider's settings (which I can access online) or on the BlackBerry's settings somewhere? Also, is it possible to at least NOT have it show private when calling those on my address book, such as friends & relatives?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 3gs, and I recently updated to the most recent version. When it did this, it completely wiped out everything I had on my iPhone. I've never had a computer for it, and just used my sisters when I visited my parents.
So I plugged into my dads laptop, (which has never seen my iPhone), opened his empty iTunes, and pushed an update through. It literally took everything I had and trashed it. Luckily (maybe), I was able to go to my sisters computer and find the last update. AN ENTIRE YEAR AGO! So I have a bunch of outdated contacts and apps. the worst part, though, is that I have about 20 paid apps that I CANNOT find out how to get onto my iPhone. "Sync iPhone" does nothing, and "Transfer Purchases" does nothing either.

So i was sitting in front of my phone this morning, when all of a sudden it just switched off and went into remote wipe mode. I then got an email from iCloud:Fantastic!! Maybe it was mind control or something!! I then got very pannicky and changed my apple ID password thinking that someone had got hold of it. I've restored from a backup on my computer because when i tried to do it from the Setup new iPhone > Restore from iCloud backup, it said 'No backups availiable'. I guess i hadn't switched on iCloud backups....but i thought i had! So i've got my stuff back via iTunes backup but lost days of data since the last computer backup was early March.

I have had a password on my phone for quite a while now. I plugged it into my laptop this morning to update it, and it asks for my password. I enter it in, it comes back "Incorrect". This went on for 4/5 attempts. I tried the last attempt, and my phone completely wiped itself!
I was entering the right password because I could see what I was typing, it showed my the password I was typing. So I knew very well that it was the right password. Not a problem though right? I could jsut restore it. I open blackberry protect and ALL MY BACK UPS are gone. Unbelievable! I was forced to restore my old contact list from my previous blackberry.
I have an 8gb Micro-SD card in my Nokia C1-01. I had a lot of music on the card and up until a few days ago it was working perfectly.Yesterday I switched on the phone and it would not recognise the card. In fact, it said the card needed formatting! I re-formatted the card and put more music on it and it works fine again now but I do not understand what went wrong.
