BB Curve :: Verifying The Email Password?

View 1 RepliesI have been sending and receiving emails with my bold 9900 for months with no problems. A couple of days ago I got an email from blackberry asking me to verify my password. I have since done this and reset my password but still get the message 'unable to log in' when I try. I have done a battery pull, but still can't login or receive emails.

When I go into email account I'm asked for my user name and paassword. Blackberry doesn't seem to recognize these any more, so now myemail has completely disappeared from my Blackberry (Torch 8900 with latest 6.00 update on it). I've spent over 2 hours trying all sort of things, including the '3 steps' thingy, but I can't do step 2, and it's still asking me for my username and password which it doesn't like!

Cannot Connect Using SSL
Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?

Current OS 5.0.0.681...I try to reboot 4-5 times and get the same result after word "verifying security software" my curve was shutdown.I try to reinstall OS and downgrade OS to old version but can not help.But it's can reboot in "save mode" , if I leave BB for 5-10 mins in save mode the screen will shut down but BB still working, it can receive a call in save mode.This problem should be focus in "software" or "hardware", anyone can tell me?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been having problems with my blackberry since December. 1st it starts freezing as in endlessy even when I do a battery pull it takes forever to goon the home screen and when it deos its stuck at 68% on the verifying secuiry software. It freeezes every minute I had to delete most of my apps and most of my bb contacts beacuse I thought itwas space because I do not have a memory card. I even tried goind the press alt lglg to delete the contents but it still freezes!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI receive an e-mail every once & a while saying that I must verify my e-mail password in order to continue sending/receiving messages on my phone. This would be fine if I was able to do so through my phone, but I am not. When I go to the set-up page to enter my password and try to click on the e-mail accounts button, nothing opens (it never has). Is there a way to fix this so it will open? Or a way to verify my password for now until I can get it fixed?

I moved out of province and finally got around to changing my phone number to a local one not long after that I decided to back up my phone on my pc since I hadn't done it in a really long time. Well when I plugged my phone into my computer i thought it was weird it didn't recognize my phone it kept saying it was a new devce when I know I've back it up before. Then a few days later I get an email on my phone saying I need to validate my password for my email and wont be able to send or receive emails until I do so. It gives me two options, open blackberry internet service account through my set up icon on phone or using the computer.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI received an email on my phone stating that my Blackberry ID account was locked due to too many failed attempts. These were not attempts that I made. It gave me the link to reset my password. When I enter my blackberry email address and the captcha I receive the following notice:
To receive your password reset email at a different email address, you must temporarily forward your email before you click the Submit button.
Following that link (and a few more) it instructs me to go into email setup on my phone and enable forwarding of my mail. I do that and click save and I get the message that my secret question can not remain blank. I do know the answer for the question. When I enter that and save it asks me to enter my password. I can't do that as the password needs to be reset. How to I get through that last step. I know what my password was but it isn't working.
I recently backed up my phone on my computer and ever since I did, it's like all of my personal settings were deleted as well. For instance, I had to fix my all of my profiles sounds after backing up, and I went to my Blackberry Appworld, scrolled over to My Appworld and it says 'no downloads' and I have downloaded a lot of applications. That's not really a problem for me, as long as I get messages when updates come out for the apps...? Now, I am trying to setup another email address and when going to 'email setup wizard', I am being prompted for a Username and Password. I don't remember ever making a username or password for email setup, but was able to firgure out I could put my PIN in for my password to be sent, which it was. BUT I still do not know what my username is, and I've tried my email addresses with and without what's after the @ and still no luck.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a BB curve 8520 for past 2 years and loved it. Over Christmas, my son had my old BB and I bought a new one - exactly the same - the Curve 8520. Both operate on orange networks. My old BB was v4 new BB is v5.I have a personal email address, and 5 work email accounts - all of which have worked perfectly fine on the old BB. However when trying to add them to the new BB, although my personal account has been accepted, when trying to input my work email I keep getting a message that the password is not correct (which I know it is. I have even tried resetting my work email password on the email server).The email accounts were removed from the old BB when it was given to my son, and although they have worked on that BB for 2 years, I tried reloading them on his BB - but now have the same error message of incorrect password.I have surfed the net and can see this seems to be an issue, mostly for gmail accounts (My work email is not a gmail account) - but no specific response on how to resolve it. I have carried out all the checks such as making sure keyboard is set to right language, and font does not automatically set capitals as first letter, so that isnt the problem.The phone is primarily for business use - so I absolutely have to resolve this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI used to have my work e-mail address (not an enterprise account) linked to my blackberry. I have no idea how it happened. When I tried to set it up it asked for a password and I didn't have one for it. I closed the e-mail set-up thinking it had not worked. However, despite the blackberry saying it could not set-up the account, lo and behold a few minutes later I got the e-mail account activation message and everything was working. This was before I downloaded the new OS.Fast forward to today: the e-mail account accidentally was deleted. Now when I try to set it up I get more or less the same messages but it does not work magically as it did before. I have contacted our IT administrator to ask if there is ac password for my specific e-mail. We use Microsoft Exchange Server. He told me there are no other passwords than the one I use to access my e-mail through the internet. However, I have tried that password and it does not work.
