I had to reset my password on my Gmail account and now can't receive e-mails on my BB. When I try to access the e-mail account settings I'm asked for a username. If I enter my e-mail address I'm told there's a blank username. The same happens if I try to add another e-mail address.
View 1 RepliesI was sent a new Blackberry curve 8520 as my old one broke, and am trying to set up my email accounts again. First, I couldn't remember my username/password combination for BIS. I rang my service provider several times and was told that it was nothing to do with them and that only Blackberry could sort out the situation. Well eventually I managed to get in to my email settings and set up two email accounts, however there was still one more I wanted to set up, but when I tried to log in again it wouldn't work! Even though I used the same combination as before. Using my username, I requested my password to be sent to me and it said it was sending but I still haven't gotten anything.

My only problem is that I don't have an option that says 'Add account.' Here are the steps I've followed:
1) Go to Email Setup
2) Choose 'I want to create or add an email address.
3) Click next
4)Click next again
5)Then, I get a message which says 'Existing Users, to log in, please provide your username and password.'
I don't have an option to add an account. When I put in my username and password into the fields, I get a message saying please enter a valid username. (My service provider already set up my Gmail, and couldn't add the other one. I told him I'd figure it out)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recovered my iPhone 3GS through the DFU mode. While I was restoring the last iCloud backup, 3 pop-ups appeared asking password for accounts I have never seen before.
I also noticed that 3 apps were not restored with the backup but, checking into iTunes, those apps have been downloaded with my Apple ID.

Sometimes when the phone is locked, a rectangle apprears on the screen with numeral 112 inside. I can ignore this and unlock the phone and it works fine. But it returns when I lock the phone. The only way to remove this is to switch off and on.

For instance, I had to fix my all of my profiles sounds after backing up, and I went to my Blackberry Appworld, scrolled over to My Appworld and it says 'no downloads' and I have downloaded a lot of applications. The appears as when I yse synbol above the g in email and other text but NOT in the email address field when adding a new username. Also, cannot just copy and paste - the symbol disappears. I have a BB 8520 and I am with Orange UK
I tried plugging it into a wall charger for a day, i tried leaving it unplugged for a day, i tried leaving it plugged into the wall without the battery in for a day. I do not think it is the battery or charging related. Oh, and i have 2 batteries, neither let it boot.
So, i tried all the suggestions about App loader. The PIN is not recognized UNLESS, i plug it in without a battery (after i see the charging icon with red X on the screen). If i try to continue, nothing happens until i put in the battery, which immediately removes my PIN to PIN Unknown or whatever. So, it will continue and loader will freeze at step 2, device initialization.
Anyone had this exact issue or know how to get passed this point?
For reference, i never dropped it or damaged it. Actually i haven;t been using this phone, i decided to update it, all went well. Took the battery out and left it for a couple weeks. Went back to use it and this is what i got. Oh, and I tried JL_CMNDR and nothing happens.
Like i said, no error screen, i get a red LED, it attempts to boot up, but it barely moves and then I get black screen and red LED again and it just loops this process.
* I do have the extra ATT Insurance. However, I've had it for 1.5 years and it has been externally modded to ****. I could easily change it back to stock parts, but the "sticker" is gone. 1. Would ATT let me exchange it? 2. Does it have all my info on it?

Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.
