I just updated my Blackberry Curve, and it now displays.. (Mobile) next to people's names in my name display header in the Messages application. I find it uneccessary especially since all SMS/MMS are through Mobile numbers anyways, is there anyway to disable this?
View 1 RepliesMy problem is with my Blackberry 3G 9300...Most of my pictures cannot be opened.the ones that cannot be opened have a file extention ending in .rem(for example IMG10122012.jpg.rem)I don't ever connect my phone to a PC or any other device...I have been told that it is a cause of encryption. I have since then put the encryption off but nothing seems to work...I even created new folders directly on device to try and transfer from Media Card to Device but this message appears:'error decrypting header'If I put the encryption back on and try to rename nothing happens... nothing I do will convert my pictures back to its orginal format ( .jpg)..

The phone has been given a new number w/ data plan, but in order to remove the old email account I need the old email password. I found a document under docs.blackberry.com that said this can be set under Options / Display Message Header On. However, I don't see this option on my Blackberry. I have a 9930 running 7.1.0.

My phone stopped working randomly a couple of days ago. I cant send or receive texts or calls. In the corner where the signal is, changed from edge/GPRS to GMS now it's just constantly on SOS. I've tried going into mobile network options and switching network and then switching back and it's saying that my mobile network is out of range? I've also tried doing a battery pull and doing a security wipe which just deleted all my contacts I've been in contact with my mobile network and they told me try the SIM in another phone, and that worked so it's definitely a problem with the phone rather than the network.

I have had my phone for one month (curve 8520) with Virgin Mobile and managed to run up a bill of over £500. I put this on here to warn other Virgin customers to be very careful how they use their phone. There is a 25mb daily allowance for blackberry usage and a 1Gb monthly allowance for internet usage. I cannot understand what the difference is. When I contact Virgin I can check the balance of my internet usage - this never changes. Unbeknown to me I was using blackberry usage which I could not check with my provider. I had the facebook application and the ubertwitter application on the phone. These are now removed.As I understand from Virgin using any applications on my phone will mean using the blackberry usage which will not be enough and therefore I will get charged. Blackberry is marketing these phones to my age group - early 20's and Virgin are advertising it with application use.
