View 4 RepliesI had to add a new e-mail account to my BB Curve 8530 as the provider I was using was bought out by another company.I had no problems with the setup, but I'm wondering how I can delete the old e-mail account that I don't need any more.

Other forums I have visited have suggested using the alt + rst key combination to refresh the list but this does not work for me. Anyone solved this problem. A call to blackberry tech support for my carrier was not helpful
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've tried things on the internet, but no success.I've installed an app and remove from BB which doesn't remove icon. Some say the BB has to be Rebooted to clean up left over things. I find this unusual that a normal user wouldn't know how to uninstall apps properly especially having to reboot.I want to be able to restart (reboot) my BB without pulling the battery.

I have a feeling I will be getting to know you all pretty well since all of my questions have no direct answers in any of the literature that came with my unit.For this post, I am wondering how I can filter or turn off the notifications to the email, facebook notifications that seem to come through continuously and at this given point and time confuse the heck out of me. I am only used to reading text messages. Now I have alerts going off for Email, Facebook, Texts and Blackberry messenger.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded two application upgrades on my Curve and after the second upgrade I selected reboot now so as to install the applications. The BB begins the update process but upon reaching the 2/3 mark it wont move any futher, it has remained that way for an hour (black screen with BB logo and name and below the progress bar). Despite me taking out the battery and letting it restart a fresh it doesn't get beyond that same point.

When I downloaded it, it was supposed to download it to my memory card, but I cannot find it, and this app wont work. Anybody know how to get it up and running?

I can get it to download but it wont run. I know there has to be some quick way to do it. I have an otterbox defender case on it and its a pain to take it off.

I had tried it by is not work. I try to do factory reset.It works but will delete all my data excluding application. For sometimes it works but sometimes can not works and in the end i will wipe my torch and install new OS into my torch,<br><br> if there are best solutions.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi bought atrix just 2 days back and now it's started showing lot of problems.1) When i press power button to turn the display off phone becomes unresponsive) when i tried to remove some of the application i can't as uninstall button itself is disabled3) every now and then either application is not loading or running applicaitons are crashing4) phone has started behaving strangely as it reboots on its own and hang on its own sometimes.I called my carrier and they were clueless so asked they'll come back in 2 hours time.

I don't want to do a general wipe as some of the info on the phone already is useful for the new owner. I've hidden the icons for now but just want to delete them. When I go to email setup I'm not seeing the emails and all I get is an option to setup new accounts.

The phone has been given a new number w/ data plan, but in order to remove the old email account I need the old email password. The company no longer has contact with said employee, and so I am stuck with a phone that I am unable to use email on until I find a way to remove the old account. Is there any other way of doing this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 8520 from TMobile (US).I also had a Pearl 8100 from Fido (Canada).I got the Curve unlocked and want to use it on the Fido network instead of the Pearl. I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email.When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my curve 8520 for about three weeks and whenever i get a picture message i try to retrieve it and i dont get it. it says receiving message for a while but then it just goes away, other times it will wont receive the message for a long time then after a few hours i get it. why does it do this? why cant i get the picture message right away?

It has been stuck here all day! I called Fido earlier and asked them what to do and they told me to connect to my computer, I have done that and have tried everything and the problem still exists.
I have just upgraded to the BB 8520 Curve and I cant find predictive text anywhere?Surely it must be there somewhere !
View 8 Replies View RelatedGot a Curve 8520 and since updating yesterday, the frame rate when recording video has dropped significantly meaning jerky/jumpy video. It may be worth adding that even when in video camera mode but NOT recording the feed is still jumpy. I can see the difference by watching video I recorded before the update and also by comparing to my wifes phone (exactly the same as mine) which has not had the update yet.

We had all our contacts in our blackberrys when we left the store, I was even assigning ring tones to certain people already. I downloaded blackberry for facebook later that night and all my contacts were suddenly gone. I've tried to manually put in contacts, click save, and then no contact shows up. There are no filters checked in the contacts so I know it's not that. Any other ideas?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a new curve (8530) and my carrier is Verizon. My curve was syncing with my Yahoo calendar in December without any issues. Since January it no longer syncs. My memo pad syncs, but not the calendar. I do not have Outlook on my computer, so Yahoo is my only choice of calendar. I spoke to Verizon tech support for 2 hours and we tried everything. I uninstalled and reinstalled Desktop manager, but that didn't help either.

My friend has the same phone and got it the same time but hers has the software v5.0 yet mine still has v4.6. I want to be able to upload the new software but for some reason I am unable to. When I try to update it it tells me I already have the latest version, yet I am the only one of my friends with this phone that does not have this new software.
