I have somehow got rid of the 1 row navigation bar on the home screen of my blackberry and have been left with a little triangle which pulls up the entire menu instead. How can I go back to the original home screen?
I have had two 5230s for various reasons on two different networks. On my current one (t-mobile, uk) I seem to be missing the shortcut to the GPS data application. I've only just noticed this as I had issues with my GPS when abroad and I wanted to check which satellites were or weren't being seen.
I discovered that the application is in fact installed as if I go into the voice commands I can say "GPS data" and the application is displayed. But I seem to have no way to start the app without using the voice command. I know I could try a hard or soft reset, but I'd like to avoid that option at the moment, and it may not even work. Any way to get the "shortcut" re-applied?
After recent update of ovi maps on my mobile a strange problem occurs: when I choose one of my favourite destinations the following error appears: 'no route found'. I manually checked the map and found that huge parts of the route are really missing - mostly big parts of south of Bulgaria, including entire map of Plovdiv city, which is the second biggest city in the country.Missing routes on ovi maps
Yesterday evening I had a weather forcast icon and something like a "look at more"-icon in my map menu. This morning I have updated the Denmark map.Now the abovementioned two icons are gone. What can I do at least to get back the weather forecast icon?
I found out (more than a year ago) that Egypt map lacks a big city, it's called "Melawi", its name is just on the road: "Bany Sewaif-Dairot street" BUT NO STREET NAMES!!I waited for map updates, and every time I update the map data, I see nothing changed! My map version 0.2.46.103 By the way, when Nokia releases new map versions, please include change log / release notes.
That being the case, I downloaded the map files for Alberta onto my 5800XM and checked that Banff and Calgary map info was present. No problem with Banff road details and POI's but although the name 'Calgary' is shown on the map, the main roads stop short of the city and absolutely no roads are shown going into the city and no POI's are pesent for Calgary.
I currently own a Nokia C7 and recently upgraded to Belle (which is fantastic) and as such Nokia Maps 3.08 was also installed. The map upgrade did not come with any homescreen widgets, and I have seen videos/screenshots of phones with a 'my position' type map widget (which fills half a homescreen) and a 'weather' widget (a bar type widget which when clicked is cleary the nokia maps weather app).how to get hold of them as I cannot find them on the Nokia store?
Found a lot missing information on N9 maps. There is no way to download broken map again. It's possible to complete in online mode missing information, but found errors in France, Germany, Czech ( between Prague and Olomouc). Also my country Estonia is missing much detailed area data. Is it only N9 problem or are getting maps updated soon?
I grabbed the update this morning and the missing contacts bug is still there in Google Navigation. When you select Contacts in Navigation you get "You don't have any contacts with addresses". This was all over the threads, you would think this would have been fixed with this update. Grrr...
Nokia, been using Maps on a Lumia 820 for two weeks now, and while the touch interface is of course a huge step forward from my previous E52, there are several (I believe essential) features that are strangely and desperately missing:The basic map view is fixed to "north up" and doesn't show any indicator of the direction the device is pointing to. The E52 had both a compass indicator and an option to rotate the map according to the device's orientation. I find map orientation essential in "pedestrian mode", especially when you're in an unknown place. While we're at map indicators: when zooming, either with the pinch and zoom gestures or with the optional +/- buttons, the map does not show a scale or ruler which the E52 also did. Both offline maps and microSD card support are unique characteristics of Nokia Maps and the Lumia 820. However, storing downloaded maps (probably the biggest data chunks on your phone) on the microSD card is not supported. You really have to the store your offline maps the phone's internal memory? When you open your list of placemarks (or favourites), that list is sorted alphabetically. With more than a few placemarks (I have well over 500, collected over many years) that's almost useless, because you see named locations scattered all over the world when you're really looking for the name of that restaurant you visited somewhere nearby some time ago. On the E52 the favorites list was of course sorted by the distance from the currently displayed map area (or the current location), which is so much more useful.
I am very interested in the DroidX, but the virtual keyboard does not have any means to move the cursor- so if you mis-type a character, you have to either perfectly position your finger & delete the wrong letter & re-type, or delete the whole word & re-type. Why is there seemingly no way to move the cursor position on the DroidX keyboard & is there any software that does implement this? Also, will the Droid X be able to upgrade to AndroidOS v3?
I actively used "Landmarks" application of "GPS" group on my E72 Now I switched to E6 and don't see any of these application available. Is there any way to get this applications installed on E6 ?
If instructions upon page 77 of N9 UG (Eng) not clear enough you do need to download appropriate voice file with street names as none installed by default. After you have chosen "Walking person" icon > Get directions > Navigate you need to tap upon grey tool bar at base of screen After selecting Voice Guidance > tap on select voice to reveal choices available.
I used to have a 8900 and it had the 'compass logo' for navigation but my new 9300 bb doesn't have this. i already did the 'options, advanced options... refresh gps...' but there's no way to enter the gps application because it's not on my phone?
My navigation key will not scroll I thought it was a faulty key and changed it only to discover that the new key wont work either!! what could b wrong and how would i fix this??
I recently purchased a curve 9300. One of the main reasons i bought it was for the GPS navigation capabilities. It has maps, can show routes but has not active GPS navigation contrary to the adversiting. Please advice me on how to proceed. The following are some of the specs from the phones options menu.
I have downloaded the "Own Voice" guidance for navigation but seem to have lost my setting it up. how to set up my own voice? By that I mean, to record my own voice? All I can do as of now is choose "Own Voice" in the Settings -> Walk/Drive -> Voice Guidance. But where to RECORD my own voice?
is it possible to use the satellite view during navigation? Is saw this with the Google Maps navigation app and I'm wondering now, if it's possible with Nokia Maps, too.
Maps 3.08 does not let me calibrate my compass (at least not by ticking once or twice at the compass). By consequence, while navigating it does not orientate the display with the top in the forward direction. I found a workaround by using a separate compass application, calibrate the compass there, and then Maps works perfect. There must be a easier way to calibrate the compass from within the Maps application.
My BlackBerry Curve 9300 track pad frequently does not work. When this happens I remove and replace the battery to reboot the phone. I sometimes have to do this up to six times before the track button starts working again. Once the button is working, within 10 minutes to half an hour the track button becomes inoperable again and I have to go through the same procedure again.
Curve 8900, T-mobile, OS 5.0.0.900 (Bundle 1626, Platform 5.2.0.96). I recently updated my phone to OS 5 after activating Blackberry data service with T-Mobile. After the update the was a GPS program in the "Downloads" folder included. I deleted the program by mistake. It was supposed to give voice turn-by-turn directions to the destination. What is the name of that program was and if it can be downloaded from App-world?
I am experiencing issues with the navigation button in my BB Curve8520. WIth ambient temperature over 35 degree the trackball does not work. Who shall I contact? I live in Germany but bought the BB in Switzerland.
Navigation used to work fine on my X6, but since having to do a hard reset of the phone (due to other problems!) I cannot use the Navigation.
Everytime I get the error 'navigation cannot start at this location' and it doesn't seem like the phone can ever pick up my location.I have tried un-installing and re-installing the application but to no-avail!I haven't even wasted my time calling Nokia Support, as they are totally useless!
getting very frustrated with this now. I have given my dad my N95 to help him get around but just cant get the map navigation to work. I downloaded the Nokia Map Loader (I had to go to a third party website as the Nokia links were all broken) and have the map/voices but when my dad tries to use the navigation it tells him he has to pay.Obviously, I know that Nokia have now made these services free to complete with other company's devices, I'm just being stupid and not going to the right place to download them. When i go to www.nokia.com/maps on the phone it doesnt do anything. I've been trying for over a day now and the phone has almost made contact with the wall a few time
My phone GPS Navigation is not working ...It is not receiving signals from satellites.i tried by activated all position methods assited & integrated GPS but still not working...
I've been trying to use the GPS navigation through NOKIA MAPS but it doesn't work, in my phone's screen appears "the license has expired" or something like that. I'd like to know what i've to do to make it work. Because Iv'e heard that tthe GPS navigation in other nokia models is free.
