I actively used "Landmarks" application of "GPS" group on my E72 Now I switched to E6 and don't see any of these application available.Is there any way to get this applications installed on E6 ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSince I've discovered that Ovi navigation was released for free, I upgraded my N82 maps to Ovi maps v3.01 09wk44. Everything is working allright except for the 3D landmarks. I can only see something like "2D shadow from top view". Do I have to activate them somehow ? Or maybe just go online and update (free) license?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had two 5230s for various reasons on two different networks. On my current one (t-mobile, uk) I seem to be missing the shortcut to the GPS data application. I've only just noticed this as I had issues with my GPS when abroad and I wanted to check which satellites were or weren't being seen.
I discovered that the application is in fact installed as if I go into the voice commands I can say "GPS data" and the application is displayed. But I seem to have no way to start the app without using the voice command. I know I could try a hard or soft reset, but I'd like to avoid that option at the moment, and it may not even work. Any way to get the "shortcut" re-applied?
Found a lot missing information on N9 maps. There is no way to download broken map again. It's possible to complete in online mode missing information, but found errors in France, Germany, Czech ( between Prague and Olomouc). Also my country Estonia is missing much detailed area data. Is it only N9 problem or are getting maps updated soon?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new Nokia 701, which I bought yesterday. The first thing I did when I got it home was to check with Nokia suite to see whether FP1 for Belle was available here in Taiwan. Apparently it is not, but Nokia suite did tell me that I should install a new version of the Nokia maps software, which I duly did. It then said that I should download new maps, which I also did.
After going through the rest of the phone setup, I started checking various things I found that the map application would not open. When I press on the icon I get a spinning circle in the middle of the screen which remains for about a second, then smaller circle in the top left of the map icon which stays for a couple of seconds. The circles go away and nothing opens.
After recent update of ovi maps on my mobile a strange problem occurs: when I choose one of my favourite destinations the following error appears: 'no route found'. I manually checked the map and found that huge parts of the route are really missing - mostly big parts of south of Bulgaria, including entire map of Plovdiv city, which is the second biggest city in the country.Missing routes on ovi maps

Yesterday evening I had a weather forcast icon and something like a "look at more"-icon in my map menu.This morning I have updated the Denmark map.Now the abovementioned two icons are gone.What can I do at least to get back the weather forecast icon?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have imported in the last version of ovi maps (on a E71) a big lmx file (more than a thousand of POI).The problem is that they do not appear in my favorite list but they are here. If I go to ovi.com I can see on the server all the favourites. If I delete all of them on ovi.com (very long because impossible to select/all delete, you have to do it one by one). Then I sync my favourites (ont the phone maps/favorites/sync with ovi.com). I takes several minutes and I change nothing on the phone but now all of my faovrites are back on my ovi.com space Thus, they are on the phone but they do not appear. Thus I can't move/delete them.Worse again. If I manually add a favourtie from the phone, It appears in the list in the phone. But if I quit maps/ and launch it again, the list appears empty.It seems there is a problem in displaying a long list of favourites.I want to delete all my favorites. How can I do ? Is there a file somewhere on the phone that I can delete ?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been using Ovi Maps for a few weeks, and I'm a little confused as to how Ovi Maps (3.04) works alongside "Landmarks". This is on a 5230.Ovi Maps has a section called "categories" which are selectable for display under the Ovi Maps settings menu. If I select a category from here, an icon is shown on the map representing the location. So I have chosen useful ones for me - cash dispensers, fuel stations, tourist information etc and these display properly.Outside of Ovi Maps, there is also the "Landmarks" under "Applications" "Location". Landmarks are sorted either alphabetically or can be allocated to categories. I have chosen to add some specific locations to a category called "Geocaches". I don't appear to be able to make this category of custom locations appear in Ovi Maps, or be searchable in Ovi Maps. How do I make the category "Geocaches" appear as a category in Ovi Maps? How can I choose which icon to display in Ovi Maps representing these landmarks only? Or does Ovi Maps simply read all Landmarks and completely ignore the category assigned in the Landmarks app? there no way that I can add points of interest directly into the Ovi Maps file structure? (Just for reference, on TomTom devices this is very straightforward. The TomTom reads file with a specific filename extension and adds it to the categories that are searchable and can be displayed on a map. Additionally it allows a warning sound to be played when you arrive within a certain distance of location in a specific category - TomTom calls them POIs - and this would be a very useful feature for Ovi Maps particularly for my hobby of geocaching).
View 12 Replies View RelatedThat being the case, I downloaded the map files for Alberta onto my 5800XM and checked that Banff and Calgary map info was present.No problem with Banff road details and POI's but although the name 'Calgary' is shown on the map, the main roads stop short of the city and absolutely no roads are shown going into the city and no POI's are pesent for Calgary.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought an N97 (not mini). After about 20 or 30 seconds the Maps/GPS application hangs and freezes. I then cannot exit the application. I have to restart my phone to use the application and then again for a few seconds. I have hard and soft reseted my phone, removed the maps folder and the application and downloaded/installed them again. To add insult to injury the Nokia people in MALTA say they cannot help me out because my phone was bought from the far east and is a different version?
View 1 Replies View RelatedNokia,been using Maps on a Lumia 820 for two weeks now, and while the touch interface is of course a huge step forward from my previous E52, there are several (I believe essential) features that are strangely and desperately missing:The basic map view is fixed to "north up" and doesn't show any indicator of the direction the device is pointing to. The E52 had both a compass indicator and an option to rotate the map according to the device's orientation. I find map orientation essential in "pedestrian mode", especially when you're in an unknown place. While we're at map indicators: when zooming, either with the pinch and zoom gestures or with the optional +/- buttons, the map does not show a scale or ruler which the E52 also did.Both offline maps and microSD card support are unique characteristics of Nokia Maps and the Lumia 820. However, storing downloaded maps (probably the biggest data chunks on your phone) on the microSD card is not supported. You really have to the store your offline maps the phone's internal memory?When you open your list of placemarks (or favourites), that list is sorted alphabetically. With more than a few placemarks (I have well over 500, collected over many years) that's almost useless, because you see named locations scattered all over the world when you're really looking for the name of that restaurant you visited somewhere nearby some time ago. On the E52 the favorites list was of course sorted by the distance from the currently displayed map area (or the current location), which is so much more useful.

When I browsed the voices folder however it was there.i had to download another voice thru the maps application (sadly no surfer dud) in order to get voice navigation. Is there any reason for this? I am using a 5800 with v31 and im using maps v3.04. Although with both v3.03 and 3.04 the same problem was there.

View 15 Replies View RelatedNot sure if anyone experience this problem.. I lost all my map data after I update the Taiwan map when I was in Taiwan. The reason is I was forced to update the Taiwan map again when I was in Taiwan.Before I travel to Taiwan, I have updated several maps, included Taiwan map in local.
When I used GPS in Taiwan( I use Taiwan paid card to make call), no map was displayed and I was very puzzle and annoy because I thought I installed the Taiwan. I tried whole day, and tried to get it worked but failed.I used hotel's wifi to check the map and was prompted to update the Taiwan map again. Puzzle.. but update anyway. It worked when I traveled around Taipei.
Now the problem come... When I back home here and no maps were shown, except the Taiwan map!! Again, I went online to download the maps. It wasted my efforts and time to download the maps' data.
Here is I want to know;
1) Do maps' data store inside my phone when downloaded?
2) If so, why I traveled aboard and the maps will not display except the local(singapore) map?
3) Even though the maps are free for download, but I have to buy data plan from other countries when travel. I though the maps can use globally?
4) Will 3rd party GPS works in my C6-00? For example Garmin, if nokia maps are not reliable.. Not sure if anyone experience this problem.. Whats the point in having the drag down button option to turn off internet and wi-fi connections if the phone is gonna keep reminding me every 20 secs that ' Mobile data is off ' and thus stopping the phone from going into auto sleep mode?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't know since when, but I no longer get the data for the Flanders (BEL) De Lijn.The stations are presented, but greyed out because of no detail data.For the Brussels transport nearby too, there is no problem --> meaning connectivity is ok.
On the website of DeLijn, the detail data is available, meaning something is going between Nokia Transport and DeLijn.

an inspirational site about Symbian I have City Lens up and running on my Belle Refresh E6 - at least it looks like it. My question is, however, is the data for City Lens downloaded by my phone on the fly - i.e. should the up-to-date info be available as soon as it's posted?
I live in a small town in Denmark that is extremely popular with foreign tourists, and a good few of our bars, restaurants and cafes have either changed ownership/name or closed. None of the new places are on City Lens, whereas most of the old ones still are (several closed more than 18 months ago).
I recently formatted my phone and memory card and lost the nokia maps data from the card. While updating with nokia suit it says "can't find maps on phone". What can I do for getting back the data?

When I went to update Maps of India, it also showed a Pull-down tab where the maps are devided into further 18 parts...India (ALL) file size appears as that of 394 MB whereas the total of all these 18 parts is 895.4 MB. Why such a huge difference ? Will it be more detailed information if I download all these parts one-by-one ?

After this update when I open the Maps and select Settings and Navigation (to change i.e. voice), Maps closes automatically without any error messages. I can open all the other settings sub-menus. Any ideas why this is happening? Do I have the to re-install the application, maps and voices?
