i have new lumia and i want to use new account for it, i have my favorite landmarks in an old account and i got it in the lumia, but when i delet the accoung everything deleted as well, i just want to synchronize it with my new account.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSince I've discovered that Ovi navigation was released for free, I upgraded my N82 maps to Ovi maps v3.01 09wk44. Everything is working allright except for the 3D landmarks. I can only see something like "2D shadow from top view". Do I have to activate them somehow ? Or maybe just go online and update (free) license?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have imported in the last version of ovi maps (on a E71) a big lmx file (more than a thousand of POI).The problem is that they do not appear in my favorite list but they are here. If I go to ovi.com I can see on the server all the favourites. If I delete all of them on ovi.com (very long because impossible to select/all delete, you have to do it one by one). Then I sync my favourites (ont the phone maps/favorites/sync with ovi.com). I takes several minutes and I change nothing on the phone but now all of my faovrites are back on my ovi.com space Thus, they are on the phone but they do not appear. Thus I can't move/delete them.Worse again. If I manually add a favourtie from the phone, It appears in the list in the phone. But if I quit maps/ and launch it again, the list appears empty.It seems there is a problem in displaying a long list of favourites.I want to delete all my favorites. How can I do ? Is there a file somewhere on the phone that I can delete ?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been using Ovi Maps for a few weeks, and I'm a little confused as to how Ovi Maps (3.04) works alongside "Landmarks". This is on a 5230.Ovi Maps has a section called "categories" which are selectable for display under the Ovi Maps settings menu. If I select a category from here, an icon is shown on the map representing the location. So I have chosen useful ones for me - cash dispensers, fuel stations, tourist information etc and these display properly.Outside of Ovi Maps, there is also the "Landmarks" under "Applications" "Location". Landmarks are sorted either alphabetically or can be allocated to categories. I have chosen to add some specific locations to a category called "Geocaches". I don't appear to be able to make this category of custom locations appear in Ovi Maps, or be searchable in Ovi Maps. How do I make the category "Geocaches" appear as a category in Ovi Maps? How can I choose which icon to display in Ovi Maps representing these landmarks only? Or does Ovi Maps simply read all Landmarks and completely ignore the category assigned in the Landmarks app? there no way that I can add points of interest directly into the Ovi Maps file structure? (Just for reference, on TomTom devices this is very straightforward. The TomTom reads file with a specific filename extension and adds it to the categories that are searchable and can be displayed on a map. Additionally it allows a warning sound to be played when you arrive within a certain distance of location in a specific category - TomTom calls them POIs - and this would be a very useful feature for Ovi Maps particularly for my hobby of geocaching).

Sometimes I need to know the GPS coordinates where I am and send them to another phone.
I joined Nokia Messaging service, downloaded the last version software using my Nokia E71 phone. When I signed for the service it asked me for my email account details, so I could not put the settings manually. The hotmail account works fine, but the other account cannot send messages. I cannot change the outgoing settings using my phone and I cannot edit the information on the nokia messaging website.
The incoming server seems to be ok (mail1.doctors.org.uk) but I cannot change the server details : smtp2.realmail-asp.co.uk. My provider is Tmobile (they gave me this: smtp.t-email.co.uk) they were not helpful and told me that they mainly support blackberry. My email accounts were working fine until I installed Nokia Messaging. I find Nokia Messaging very professional for messaging, but unsure if I will be able to make it work.
My default Microsoft account will not send emails, it syncs incoming mail just fine but for outgoing mail it always returns a windows phone reply saying that the message cant be sent and is saved in drafts. I tried setting a my yahoo mail acc as my default but it doesn't work either. In fact the messages are just moved to the outbox folder and stay there. No windows phone reply, nothing.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been creating all sorts of trails within Ovi maps.I have, in error now created at least 400 "favourite places" while trying to create a trail.These favourite places seem to be slowing down my devices, and I can find no easy way of deleting them. Other than selecting each one and confirming individually.I have deleted the places on the Ovi Maps interface within IE, but I am unable to synchronise the phone to pick up my deletions.I'm guessing I am unable to sync due to the very large number of favourite places I have on the device.
I've tried to delete OVI maps, but I'm guessing its part of the OS...Does anyone know how I can delete them through the file explorer view?

Maps 3.08 does not let me calibrate my compass (at least not by ticking once or twice at the compass). By consequence, while navigating it does not orientate the display with the top in the forward direction. I found a workaround by using a separate compass application, calibrate the compass there, and then Maps works perfect. There must be a easier way to calibrate the compass from within the Maps application.

Everytime I get the error 'navigation cannot start at this location' and it doesn't seem like the phone can ever pick up my location.I have tried un-installing and re-installing the application but to no-avail!I haven't even wasted my time calling Nokia Support, as they are totally useless!
getting very frustrated with this now. I have given my dad my N95 to help him get around but just cant get the map navigation to work. I downloaded the Nokia Map Loader (I had to go to a third party website as the Nokia links were all broken) and have the map/voices but when my dad tries to use the navigation it tells him he has to pay.Obviously, I know that Nokia have now made these services free to complete with other company's devices, I'm just being stupid and not going to the right place to download them. Overall very happy. Does Drive have turn by turn navigation wih specific names and exits? Right now it only says stuff like "turn now".
My iPhone can receive emails from my pop account but not send them. It can send and receive gmail fine. Have checked the smpte and pop info. Wifi is working OK.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a very old Freeserve email address which I'm loath to part with! However, I'm obliged to send mail using my ISP (VirginMedia) and so have to set up separate account details for the SMTP server. My M8 seems quite incapable of doing this - it claims that I have the wrong username/password most of the time when verifying. Occasionally, it accepts the details, but then still can't send mail. If I revisit the settings without changing anything, it says they are invalid again.
By comparison, my Windows desktop works fine under the same conditions, and especially my Tesco HUDL! All this using my home WiFi/wired network.
Secondary question - if you are presented with a previously entered password (blobs), does the number of blobs match the password length? I notice that my SMTP password does appear to change its length after it's been accepted.
New Galaxy six, did the whole gmail sync to get my contacts transferred. Also since the gmail account set-up, I'm getting so much more junk in both of my accounts. It's obviously not as secure as my other emails. But bottom line, my mail won't send from yahoo but will from my imap account with century link. My old LG had me set up as yahoo being imap, the new Galaxy set it up as pop? I can't access my outgoing settings anymore on my old phone so don't know what to change them to?
