Nokia E71 :: Deleting Landmarks On Phone - Delete All My Favorites?

I have imported in the last version of ovi maps (on a E71) a big lmx file (more than a thousand of POI).The problem is that they do not appear in my favorite list but they are here. If I go to ovi.com I can see on the server all the favourites. If I delete all of them on ovi.com (very long because impossible to select/all delete, you have to do it one by one). Then I sync my favourites (ont the phone maps/favorites/sync with ovi.com). I takes several minutes and I change nothing on the phone but now all of my faovrites are back on my ovi.com space Thus, they are on the phone but they do not appear. Thus I can't move/delete them.Worse again. If I manually add a favourtie from the phone, It appears in the list in the phone. But if I quit maps/ and launch it again, the list appears empty.It seems there is a problem in displaying a long list of favourites.I want to delete all my favorites. How can I do ? Is there a file somewhere on the phone that I can delete ?
I have imported from Google Earth, thousands of POIs in Food categories for entire Brazil country, very ease: simply I get the KML file and converted it with Gps Babel to Nokia places format,click the file in the File manger, it asks which I want import, them I selected ALL, that works fine. But it put these POIs in my Favorites instead of General POIs, and did not included the subcategories of the Type of Food (Like Chinese, Pizza, French, Barbecue etc.). Not satisfied, because this and because it turned very slow, I want delete ALL these Favorites, but the only way I found to do this, is one BY ONE, I not found a way to delete ALL Favorites in one path only. In summary, my question is: What is the procedure to delete ALL my Favorites together?
I have a desktop pc with the 8.1 OS and the Nokia 1020 with the same. When I open IE on the Nokia, the favorites folder is synced with my desktop favorites. These favorites show up in two places on the phone.
(1) The favorites menu (2) a folder icon at the bottom of the favorites menu.
I can't figure out how to delete all favorites in both places on the phone only. I wish to keep the favorites on my desktop IE.
In the Nokia menu, I turned off all sync functions. In OneDrive, I turned off all sync functions. I even factory reset the phone after turning off all sync functions. The favorites for IE are still there in both places.
I have a Nokia 5230 (RM-588) with firmware 20.0.005 and Ovi Maps 3.04. Memory card is Kingston 8GB. I downloaded maps that I needed and everything is working OK from that point.
Here is the problem: I search for an address (offline), Ovi Maps finds it, I rename it and save it to Favourites. I repeat that with some other addresses. Then I turn off the Ovi Maps and navigation and after I start it again, my folder Favourites - Places is empty. Any idea why the Favourites are not saved ?
I use gmail and when I delete an email on the web, it doesn't delete on my BB. The same goes for when I open an email on the web, it doesn't show 'read' on my BB. Interestingly though, if I delete or read an email on my BB, the action is reciprocated on the web.And finally, if I send myself an email (either from the web or my BB), it appears on the web but not on my BB.
After an issue with my N97 where I was unable to do any backups from the phone to the internal memory card, I reformatted and reinstalled the apps to my N97 (making sure I did a backup using PC Suite before hand).
Upon restoring the PC Suite image, I found that it didn't restore the list of favourites which have meant that I've lost them all - I'm sure I remember that the backup to memory card did make a copy of them, but as I wasn't able to do this, this wasn't a possible solution .....
Luckily, Google Maps have most of my starred items (favourites) saved, (barring the one I managed to unstar by accident), but it appears as if Google doesn't store the actual co-ordinates and doesn't allow them to be exported ... So in short - is there anyway at all I can get my favourites back ?
Since I've discovered that Ovi navigation was released for free, I upgraded my N82 maps to Ovi maps v3.01 09wk44. Everything is working allright except for the 3D landmarks. I can only see something like "2D shadow from top view". Do I have to activate them somehow ? Or maybe just go online and update (free) license?
I've been using Ovi Maps for a few weeks, and I'm a little confused as to how Ovi Maps (3.04) works alongside "Landmarks". This is on a 5230.Ovi Maps has a section called "categories" which are selectable for display under the Ovi Maps settings menu. If I select a category from here, an icon is shown on the map representing the location. So I have chosen useful ones for me - cash dispensers, fuel stations, tourist information etc and these display properly.Outside of Ovi Maps, there is also the "Landmarks" under "Applications" "Location". Landmarks are sorted either alphabetically or can be allocated to categories. I have chosen to add some specific locations to a category called "Geocaches". I don't appear to be able to make this category of custom locations appear in Ovi Maps, or be searchable in Ovi Maps. How do I make the category "Geocaches" appear as a category in Ovi Maps? How can I choose which icon to display in Ovi Maps representing these landmarks only? Or does Ovi Maps simply read all Landmarks and completely ignore the category assigned in the Landmarks app? there no way that I can add points of interest directly into the Ovi Maps file structure? (Just for reference, on TomTom devices this is very straightforward. The TomTom reads file with a specific filename extension and adds it to the categories that are searchable and can be displayed on a map. Additionally it allows a warning sound to be played when you arrive within a certain distance of location in a specific category - TomTom calls them POIs - and this would be a very useful feature for Ovi Maps particularly for my hobby of geocaching).
i have new lumia and i want to use new account for it, i have my favorite landmarks in an old account and i got it in the lumia, but when i delet the accoung everything deleted as well, i just want to synchronize it with my new account.
First of all I think that there is a lot confusing with the names of the things in OVI:
1) OviSuite is a program to synchronizing some things and download Maps.
2) Ovi Maps is a program that runs in the 5230 to do navigation and synchronization of maps
3) MapsOvi is a site in the Internet, to create and synchronize favorites and Routes.
I make a little basic test with the Maps for OVI Site and my 5230 and after creating some favorites places and routes in the Internet Site, I can not find a button to save and make the transfer of routes and favorites from the Map Ovi suite to my phone, using Bluetooth or USB cable.
There is a way to make the transfer directly from my PC to the 5230, using a USB cable or Bluetooth? Or the only way to transfer the favorites and routes created on the Maps Ovi to the phone is the real time synchronization of both, using the Internet connection on the way of my phone and spending a lot of $$$ to do this?
This is really bothering me.I have a yahoo mail account set up on my phone - It has been on there for over a year - it has always worked this way - If I get an email (the phone goes "bing") and i read it on the computer - and responded and delete it on the computer it would be removed from the phone the next time i looked. Recently I began noticing that the message is not being delated from the phone if I delete it from the mailbox, and I can't figure out why.
Basically I want to be able to read the message on the computer and hit delete and for it do the same thing on my blackberry and vise versa. Now it seems to work if I delete the message on the BB then it will not be in the Mailbox on the computer.
Just got a replacement N5 and I'm using the native email app (as I was on my previous N5), with gmail syncing turned on. The problem is when I delete an email on my phone, it's not deleting it from the Gmail server (it's still there if I check email on my PC). Some setting on the phone or in Gmail on the PC that I'm forgetting about?
When using Nokia email client via IMAP or POP, I cannot find where I can set it up to leave the message on server while deleting it on the phone: I have got thousands e-mails on server (and coming like hundreds dayly) and I don't want to keep them on the phone after reading them.But I DO need them on the server!
I actively used "Landmarks" application of "GPS" group on my E72 Now I switched to E6 and don't see any of these application available.Is there any way to get this applications installed on E6 ?
I had this problem in 4.1 beta 3 and now the GM version. I am running on an iphone 4.
Go to your phone app,Then go to your favorites tab,Then tap the add button,Then go to the search feature in your contacts tab and search for any contact,after that click the contact and try to add them to your favorites list. Does your phone app crash as soon as you try to add a contact to the favorites?
Now you must search for the contact and not scroll through.Anyone that is running 4.1 please let me know if you have this problem to,I did submit a bug report but apple said they couldn't find the problem.
is there any other way to delete the text messages rather deleting one by one can we delete in one single tap. (I am talking abt msg thread not conversation, as we have a option to delete the whole conversation in one single tap).
But when i am in my google inbox, and i swipe the email header to delete the email, it says archive. On my work exchange it says delete. Why? Does anyone else have this? Can't really says its a problem just an observation
I have a question regarding the music app on my iPhone 4S. When you slide to the right over a song, you get the option to delete it. If you press delete, does it delete it from your library on your computer or just on the iPhone.
Some albums were created when photos were uploaded from my old laptop. When I select 'Edit' the option to delete the album is not there. I also want to delete the photos but I can select the moments, but the garbage can icon is greyed out. The individual photos have no garbage can icon at all
Can you delete email off a 5s without it deleting from Outlook? This was a particularly handy function on a BlackBerry and I am hoping that I can replicate that on the 5s.
