On my 3G, I double-click the home button and up comes my list of phone number favorites. The wife, the friends, the office, the Chinese food.
On my iP4, I double-click the home button and up comes the multitasking bar.
How can I quickly get to phone number favorites on the iP4?
I have an iPhone 4S, running iOS 5.1.1 (9B206). About two weeks ago (not really sure when I noticed) a phone number appeared at the bottom of my Favorites list. The number is for a person that I deleted from Contacts some months ago. The number is not in the Contact list anywhere, the contact does not exist. I've tried recreating the contact (and Favorites then shows the name) and then deleting the contact, and its still there in the Favorites list. There is a facetime icon next to the number. If I turn off Facetime, the number disappears.

On one of the home screens, I have nine Favorite contacts Each has an assigned function when I tap the facial icon (call Mobile, call home, etc.) Occasionally a number appears in a small red circle next to their name. Trying to figure out what the number means.

I had this problem in 4.1 beta 3 and now the GM version. I am running on an iphone 4.
Go to your phone app,Then go to your favorites tab,Then tap the add button,Then go to the search feature in your contacts tab and search for any contact,after that click the contact and try to add them to your favorites list. Does your phone app crash as soon as you try to add a contact to the favorites?
Now you must search for the contact and not scroll through.Anyone that is running 4.1 please let me know if you have this problem to,I did submit a bug report but apple said they couldn't find the problem.
I have a Nokia 5230 (RM-588) with firmware 20.0.005 and Ovi Maps 3.04. Memory card is Kingston 8GB. I downloaded maps that I needed and everything is working OK from that point.
Here is the problem: I search for an address (offline), Ovi Maps finds it, I rename it and save it to Favourites. I repeat that with some other addresses. Then I turn off the Ovi Maps and navigation and after I start it again, my folder Favourites - Places is empty. Any idea why the Favourites are not saved ?
After an issue with my N97 where I was unable to do any backups from the phone to the internal memory card, I reformatted and reinstalled the apps to my N97 (making sure I did a backup using PC Suite before hand).
Upon restoring the PC Suite image, I found that it didn't restore the list of favourites which have meant that I've lost them all - I'm sure I remember that the backup to memory card did make a copy of them, but as I wasn't able to do this, this wasn't a possible solution .....
Luckily, Google Maps have most of my starred items (favourites) saved, (barring the one I managed to unstar by accident), but it appears as if Google doesn't store the actual co-ordinates and doesn't allow them to be exported ... So in short - is there anyway at all I can get my favourites back ?
Is there a hack to enable this must have feature?

After transferring a number from a previous carrier to a new carrier, I can no longer receive iMessages from my telephone number. People can only iMessage me if they know my Apple ID. I've tried restoring the phone, but I'm always faced with 'error' in the iMessage settings window.

Just yesterday when I plugged my phone into the ac adapter to charge after a while I noticed the phone was really warm, hot even, and it wasn't charging as quickly as it usually does. This morning I realized that my phone was at 70% when i had fully charged it last night and didn't really use it until that point. Around 10-15 mins later my battery life was at 60% and kept dropping around the same time to 50%. I had to keep plugging my phone in just to have a decent amount of battery life. The phone still feels hot when I have it plugged in and it doesn't seem to be charging as quickly as it should.

my iphone 4is over heating and the battery life is diminishing very quickly ive rebooted the phone deleted the apps that where open and turnede it off for an hour but it still is doing the same thing with in 5 minutes the battery life has gone from 66% to 59%?

I've got a 2g unlocked. Nothing installed but the sinful MMS package (but it did this before I installed it anyways). Maybe once or twice every week or two the battery will drain rather quickly during the day. It'll last from 8am - 6pm off a full nights charge. So once it dies, I'll try to turn it back on but it remains dead. As soon as i plug it in, it turns on as usual but then reads 50% battery. The remaining "50%" then takes about an hour to drain to zero again.
The battery has been calibrated and most days it works perfectly fine (2-3 days per charge)I think I've noticed that this happens on a day where I might use the phone a little more than average, but definitely not enough to make this drastic change.
This should be very easy to do yet I cannot find a way to add my wife's cell number or actually any number to my favorites list.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have imported in the last version of ovi maps (on a E71) a big lmx file (more than a thousand of POI).The problem is that they do not appear in my favorite list but they are here. If I go to ovi.com I can see on the server all the favourites. If I delete all of them on ovi.com (very long because impossible to select/all delete, you have to do it one by one). Then I sync my favourites (ont the phone maps/favorites/sync with ovi.com). I takes several minutes and I change nothing on the phone but now all of my faovrites are back on my ovi.com space Thus, they are on the phone but they do not appear. Thus I can't move/delete them.Worse again. If I manually add a favourtie from the phone, It appears in the list in the phone. But if I quit maps/ and launch it again, the list appears empty.It seems there is a problem in displaying a long list of favourites.I want to delete all my favorites. How can I do ? Is there a file somewhere on the phone that I can delete ?

First of all I think that there is a lot confusing with the names of the things in OVI:
1) OviSuite is a program to synchronizing some things and download Maps.
2) Ovi Maps is a program that runs in the 5230 to do navigation and synchronization of maps
3) MapsOvi is a site in the Internet, to create and synchronize favorites and Routes.
I make a little basic test with the Maps for OVI Site and my 5230 and after creating some favorites places and routes in the Internet Site, I can not find a button to save and make the transfer of routes and favorites from the Map Ovi suite to my phone, using Bluetooth or USB cable.
There is a way to make the transfer directly from my PC to the 5230, using a USB cable or Bluetooth? Or the only way to transfer the favorites and routes created on the Maps Ovi to the phone is the real time synchronization of both, using the Internet connection on the way of my phone and spending a lot of $$$ to do this?
Prior to ICS, on the Favorites Screen in the Phone App, the people who I called regularly were only listed once, even if I had called them on different #s listed in their contact profile. Under ICS, people are listed multiple times equivalent to each number of theirs dialed. This has the effect of getting fewer people listed on the Favorites screen. Is there a way to customize this so it goes back to the pre-ICS approach of only listing an individual once?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI sync contacts with a corporate Exchange / Outlook account. I can manage contacts on the phone or PC. Any contact who has say a business, home or mobile number and a fax number specified, if I go to the dialer, start typing their name, it does show the contact and a number (no indication of type such as fax or cell) so I tap that choice. Sadly, no, I can't just tell from looking at the number if it is fax or not. The phone dials the fax # which of course is incredibly annoying to my ear and that this dumb phone doesn't know not to try a fax number as the first choice for any contact who has a fax number.
I know I can set the default number per contact but I have hundreds of contacts and to go through each one to see if they have a fax and change it would really suck. Is there seriously no way to tell the phone not to use fax as first choice by default?
All of a sudden, the battery on my phone has been draining really quickly.I charged the phone last night. Took it off charge about 7.30am and by 9am it is on 80%.
I have done a factory reset, but this doesnt seem to help.Does anyone have any ideas what could have happened?
I've been given an E71 that's a couple of years old. I like the phone but it only rings for about 10 seconds then goes to answer phone which barely gives me time to get it out of my pocket!

At the first day it showed me average time of one & half day but right now its draining much faster & i'm only getting battery life of 13-14 hrs, only using wifi & music app. stamina mode is active but still no progress. The problem is that the battery has the same behavior, you can't go 10 hours without having to recharge the phone and this is without heavy usage: pretty much just messaging, calls and email. I see that the porcess that is consuming the battery is the gpsd service but I have the gps disable.

I have researched online and I know about 'thirsty' apps but the only ones I have installed are the only ones I have ever used and I never had an issue with battery drain before. Phine is approx 5 months old bought brand new.
Today, for example, I unplugged it from its charge about 5 minutes before I left home, never used it in that 5 minutes and when I looked at it, the battery was on 97%.

I recently purchased a new Bold 9700 and I noticed that the battery drains very quickly. It only lasts about 4 hours if the Mobile Network, WiFi and Blue Tooth are enabled. Also, I have recently installed the latest software updates.Is it normal for the battery to drain this quickly while the phone is on stand by mode?
