my iphone 4is over heating and the battery life is diminishing very quickly ive rebooted the phone deleted the apps that where open and turnede it off for an hour but it still is doing the same thing with in 5 minutes the battery life has gone from 66% to 59%?

My girlfriend owns a Razr and every since the ICS update she has been telling me her phone has giving her problems. It gets hot when listening to pandora or videos after a short time in use. Her battery life wasnt the greatest from the beginning but after ICS it's worse. I was suppose to do this a week ago after I mentioned. Now shes threatening to take my Maxx.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy iPhone 4 has recently started heating up and draining the battery very quickly, I updated to 5.1.1 when it became available but I can't say that is the definite cause for this problem as it started occurring about 1 week after updating.
I have searched the web/these boards and tried countless things but nothing seems to be working. Basically if I do anything on the phone it will immediately start to heat up and drain the battery. I have recently had the screen replaced, not by apple themselves but by a certified specialist that uses apple equipment, could this be part to blame?
I have tried a 2/3 full restores, resetting network, resetting settings. I did notice that when iCloud was disabled it didn't seem to drain the battery as quick but personally I don't want to settle for having to run my phone with half the functions turned off!
One last thing I am going to try is something I read on cnet which was to do a backup onto my computer (I have been doing all the resets via wireless/cloud at the moment) and then reset the setting, run the battery right down and then full restore the battery to 100%.

Yesterday i bought Xperia Z5 dual, i like it, it is a fantastic phone, i liked every thing in it but i have one problem, THE BATTERY. the Battery runs out quickly. when i use snapchat in 5 minutes the battery lose at least 3% also in youtube and games. Wi-FI scaninig, location, NFC, bluetooth are off, the brghtness is under 40%. i don't know why, is it from my phone or is it a mistake from the company.

I have tried to close most of the notifications but this problem still persists. I even most of the times, shut the applications by double clicking the home button but still the heating is there. This happens when I talk on the phone and also when i am using the Apps store. But, mostly when I am using the apps store.

My Xperia ray phone suddenly not charging fully and phone gets drained within 3hours not even doing anythingI have bought a new battery 2 days back , reset the phone to factory setting. View 3 Replies View RelatedJust yesterday when I plugged my phone into the ac adapter to charge after a while I noticed the phone was really warm, hot even, and it wasn't charging as quickly as it usually does. This morning I realized that my phone was at 70% when i had fully charged it last night and didn't really use it until that point. Around 10-15 mins later my battery life was at 60% and kept dropping around the same time to 50%. I had to keep plugging my phone in just to have a decent amount of battery life. The phone still feels hot when I have it plugged in and it doesn't seem to be charging as quickly as it should.

Found the culprit that was causing my Storm to drain the battery and get hot, It was an app called StormSlider also called BerrySlider.There has been a few updates since release 5.0 but the author doesnt seem to have got the battery drain problem solved yet i was running version 5.08, this has cost me a battery as it cooked it whilst it was on charge.Ive removed the app and my phone is fine again.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got a 2g unlocked. Nothing installed but the sinful MMS package (but it did this before I installed it anyways). Maybe once or twice every week or two the battery will drain rather quickly during the day. It'll last from 8am - 6pm off a full nights charge. So once it dies, I'll try to turn it back on but it remains dead. As soon as i plug it in, it turns on as usual but then reads 50% battery. The remaining "50%" then takes about an hour to drain to zero again.
The battery has been calibrated and most days it works perfectly fine (2-3 days per charge)I think I've noticed that this happens on a day where I might use the phone a little more than average, but definitely not enough to make this drastic change.

The problem is that the battery has the same behavior, you can't go 10 hours without having to recharge the phone and this is without heavy usage: pretty much just messaging, calls and email. I see that the porcess that is consuming the battery is the gpsd service but I have the gps disable.

My battery meter reads anywhere from 10-20% remaining. What is happening? How can I prolong the battery life? I am also noticing that my key pad is delayed and will be up to 10 characters behind before they catch up. It there something that I can do without restoring the entire phone that will fix some of these problems?

I’ve got a BlackBerry Curve 8900 (ATT, running 4.2.0.108), and have had it since Oct. 2009. Battery life has always been OK - 24 to 48 hrs. between recharges.
Today though, after pulling it off the charger this morning around 8:00 a.m., I’ve noticed that I’m down to about 5% charge by 2:30 p.m. I have made no phone calls today, and have only sent/received a couple texts and rec’d two emails. I've never used a holster, have downloaded no apps, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are both off. No keys appear to be sticking. Absolutely nothing, to my knowledge, of any significance has changed on the phone since October, yet all of a sudden --literally, overnight --I am experiencing this greatly diminished battery life. The only even remotely precipitating factor I can think of is that I did a battery pull yesterday, after deleting some old photos and emails.
I’ve searched the forum, and most of the suggestions are along the lines of “turn off bluetooth/wi-fi/update OS,” but as noted, I never used those anyhow, and the OS has always been good to me.
It has been draining away quite quickly for some time now and I don't know why. I have researched online and I know about 'thirsty' apps but the only ones I have installed are the only ones I have ever used and I never had an issue with battery drain before. Phine is approx 5 months old bought brand new.
Today, for example, I unplugged it from its charge about 5 minutes before I left home, never used it in that 5 minutes and when I looked at it, the battery was on 97%.
Suddenly my battery life is hour 4 hours and my phone is hot to the touch. What is happening?

The problem is that: While charging ONLY the Battery gets too much HOT and it never shows Battery is Full (Charged it for Max 1 Hour 45 Minutes) This problem suddenly appeared, so I formatted the Memory Card as well as Hard Format/Reset the Phone, but still the Battery is heating too much
After disconnecting the Phone from Charger, the Battery is FULL and I can use it without any problem and as usual. The Talktime right now is around 2.5 Hours and Standby time is around 2-3 Days
My HTC One m9 got a full charge last night, but when I went to use it and looked into battery history it projects only four hours of battery life. This phone has been getting me more than one day on a full charge.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to a 64gb SD card, roughly two weeks ago, and I had several problems trying to transfer all of my music and pictures and whatnot over to it from my 32gb SD card...ended up losing a lot of them because of having to re-format the card (I have a memory card recovery program on my computer already, so losing things is not a concern at this point) .
HOWEVER, my phone fully recognized the 64gb card immediately, once I properly formatted it and whatnot, but only for like a day, then I started getting error notifications that the card was not properly inserted, or the phone was not reading it, etc...the card has been inserted into my phone for about 10 days at this point... a friend of mine also has the same phone as I do (s5) and it reads just fine, as does her card in my phone, so clearly it doesn't seem to be an issue with the card itself, or the card reader slot..since other cards are registering..?
Then there's also the issue of my battery randomly draining unusually fast the last few days...and this has only been happening over the last three days...I did go to Sprint two days ago and they "primed the battery" but it did not work at all (battery life went down from 87% to completely dead in less than 5 hours last evening)...
Just got an Inspire 4g.. I've seen some old threads around about larger batteries for them but nothing conclusive..

When writing your question Occasionally the phone's screen will turn white. What I've noticed as that it typically happens after the phone shuts itself off. I don't know how it turns off, and it doesn't happen often, but occasionally I'll pull my phone out of my pocket and find that it's completely off. When I turn it back on it will boot all the way to the home screen without issues and then the screen will fade to white and stay that way. Pulling the battery does not fix the issue. All it does is kill the battery more than having the screen being all white and full power. Most recently it happened while I was navigating the Store in the Amazon Kindle program. Looking around I've seen conversations stating that the screen's going bad (which I doubt), the OS needs to be reinstalled (which I attempted through the Desktop Manager and I think I did it how I'm supposed to without wiping it with a 3rd party program), or that the phone is defective. My dad got the phone in November of 2008, and I got it when he decided to get an iPhone. I'm definitely a BlackBerry noob, so any suggestions (or requests for more information), would be appreciated. I was received a pic from a friend via Whatsapp and shortly after that,I can't open both my Whatsapp and album.I suspect the file containing virus and I scan my phone with pre-installed AVG Antivirus.But,it shows my phone is free from harmful file.I successfully removed the pic via Photo app and then I realise my battery life is draining too fast than before.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am about to leave switch back to AT&T from Verizon on a GoPhone/PYP basis or perhaps T-Mobile in the same contract mode. Have been using a Voyager which is a competent device but has never been as good as I thought it would be. The screens are too small as is the keyboard, the OS isnt great and got over the wonders of touch screen in a hurry. I want a phone with larger qwerty buttons, and a larger screen, good battery life, and great reception. I am not a techy, don't need the latest and greatest, and don't want to spend a lot of money. At this point that leaves me with 3 choices: the e63, the e62, the e90, or the 9300. The e63 should be the no brainer as it is feature rich and modern at an amazing price but the keys are too small as is the screen. The e62 appears to have larger keys and a larger screen and can be had on e-bay for a $60. I have heard that the OS is sluggish but I am not a heavy user and am patient so thats not a dealbreaker. The 9300 is almost prehistoric and heavy and yet it can be bought brand new for $100 and in return I get a solid phone, great battery life, great reception, as well as a spacious qwerty keyboard and a large screen (dont need camera and can live w/o wifi). The e90 appears to be the dream phone but its really expensive, used ebay guessing at more or less than $350. I am not gonna spend that kind of money. I am not a data user, dont need the latest and greatest OS, am partial to Nokia because of reception concerns. Any feedback/insight will be appreciated.

Does it have to do anything with me restoring it from a 3GS backup?
If yes, then how can I backup everything (contacts, notes, sms, photos/vids) and then set it up as a new phone then restore that data?

This just happened recently. I can feel the thing in my pocket heating up. The battery goes from full charge to empty in the matter of a couple hours.
Oddly though, this morning it said I had no service and my phone was normal temp and the battery lasted a long time. Or course i needed services so I turned the phone off and on and the service was back and so was the hot phone.
The phone is over a year old. I've tried all of the trick. Hard Reboot. Reset all of my settings etc.
