I am experiencing issues with the navigation button in my BB Curve8520. WIth ambient temperature over 35 degree the trackball does not work. Who shall I contact? I live in Germany but bought the BB in Switzerland.

The centre navigation button is not working, can't browse the phone, can't access any apps, bbm sms or any emails.
My Curve 8520 's e button just stopped working, doesnt work no matter how hard you press. Sometimes will get assign speed dial to e or if i'm texting a capital E but it is completely random. Also at the same time when the screen times out it is unresponsive, the screen wont come up until you press any button many many times, found out that holding any button down will also make the screen reappear after a few seconds, also if you turn it off, the power button wont turn it back on, you have to take the battery out to get it on again, otherwise it works fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Curve 8520. I just was searching the options page and then I believe I clicked the speed dial option. The lock keyboard option was 'a', and I clicked it and it locked the keyboard. I hadn't realized there was a lock for my keyboard (and had been searching for one). However, I can't get it unlocked. When I press the menu key, it pops up that 'keyboard is locked. Press the Mute button to unlock."
However, I don't know where the Mute button is, nor can I get it to unlock. My theme is precision zen (I believe) if that makes a difference.
how I can unlock my keyboard? how to successfully lock it in future? I guess I don't understand the speed dial aspect of the phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife has a curve 8520. when she tries to use the browser to sign in to yahoo email she fills in her userid and password but the sign in button dosn't work, nothing happens when she clicks it does she have to enable something in the browser configuration? she doesn't have a Blackberry data plan as yet so we realise she can't use BBM or facebook app etc but I would have thought the browser should work as she has an internet plan.

I recently bought a Blackberry Curve 8530 last month, and everything has been going smoothly up until the past week or so.Every time I hit the "End Call" button it results in the Blackberry typing out the letters "NM" repeatedly. If I keep hitting it, it just types out "Nmnmnmnmnmnmnm" ... I have tried a battery pull, multiple times. I've tried a software update. I don't know what else I can do to fix it.
It's driving me insane, I'm in love with my new BB (first time user!), but this is really killing the enjoyment. I've read about this problem with other phones and I'm worried it might move on to other letters and keys, forcing me to not be able to use the phone at all.If anybody can help me I'd greatly appreciate it. I've combed these forums for hours looking for a solution, but to no avail. Someone want to give a BB newbie a break?
I have recently brought a blackberry Curve 8520, one of the main reasons I brought it was because of bbm most of my friends have it and have requested me to add them, only when I click onto their pending request it does not have an accept button - but all my friends said it should. I have rebooted my phone a lot and I have reinstalled bbm at least twice. How I can sort this out?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just tried adding a (degree) character to an SMS I was writing (from the Sym screen) and noticed that the number of characters remaining changed by 91. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has the same problem. Open a new SMS and you should see 160 (1) in the right hand side of the text input box. Press the Fn (Up/Right arrow) button and then the Sym/Ctrl button. Choose the ° character (third row down, second from right) and watch the available-character count drop to 69 (1).
I know the ° character isn't supported as standard, but I figured I'd try it seeing as how the device was allowing me to insert it, but only expected the count to change by a maximum of 2. Any ideas what's going on? I tried sending the message to myself and it displayed OK by the way

I't a bit annoying. I seem to remember the same behaviour on the N97 I once had. (Yes, I remember I vowed never to buy a Nokia again but the E72 seems really good.)Does anyone know why the button is blinking? It's a slow fade in/out blink.

This has happened before (however, the last time was a couple of months ago) and back then it just fixed itself after a few minutes. But its been 3 days now and nothing I try works. Not the number 2, letter "e", capital "E" or anything like that works.Firstly, I didnt drop the phone or spill any fluids on it (as far as I know). Secondly, I've done a few things as suggested on other support sites including rebooting the phone (took battery out while the phone was on) about 10 times now. But that didnt work. I also tapped the keypad around the "e" key and blew in it just incase there was a bit of dust stuck under the key, but still nothing.
Earlier I did a backup and was ready to do a complete Wipe. However, to confirm the wipe I had to type the word "blackberry"! So, needless to say, I couldn't continue because there's a **bleep** "e" in the word blackberry!I also cant take it back to my service provider (MTN - South Africa) because they'll send it right back without touching it or replacing it due to a little physical damage. (I've had the phone for around 20 months now and the convenience keys on the sides fell out because I probably used it too much or perhaps its just not durable enough.) Nevertheless, I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place because I really cant go on like this for another 4 months until Im eligible for an upgrade!

Now when I do that nothing happens. I have to press and release the "alt" key and then press the punctuation keys on its own.

I got a Lumia 1020 a few days ago, and have noticed the lights of the 3 buttons at the button aren't working. I can't remember having seen them glow. Even last night, the didn't seen to be working in the dark.
I am currently using DP, could that be the reason?
This is a recent occurrence. The light under the navigation pad stays on all the time even when the phones is switched off. Which menas that battery life is not good . I have looked through all the settings to see if anything controls it but can't find anything. Is this a fault or some configuration problem? Any suggestions as to how to fix? Otherwise phone works fine - touch wood.

Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.
